A friendly and welcoming thread full of lovely women.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 25/08/2015 18:52

It should be tomorrow Trixie, I didn't manage to temp this morning due to the puppy and dh running late for work so I have no idea if she'll be rocking up. I stupidly poas earlier (an opk because it was all I had) and it was positive... So now a tiny notion of 'could I be gp' has crept in despite the fact we only dtd once in fertile window and dh pulled out. I know it's not full proof, but if we conceived through that after nearly 2 years trying it would be an actual miracle! I need a reality check!

Yes, am looking forward to being able to try next cycle.

I kept all meds in the fridge as the clinic said that was ok and it meant I didn't have to worry that I missed anything, but I think it was only suprecur that needed to be in there. Xx

loopylou1984 · 25/08/2015 18:53

*pg not gp! I'm def not a gp, life would be easier if I was sometimes!

lucieloos · 25/08/2015 18:55

The pred, cyclogest, progynova are all tablets and don't need to go in the fridge. I had suprecur on my last round and specifically asked the pharmacy if it had to be refrigerated and they said no. I have 4 boxes of clexane as well which don't have to be refrigerated either. Just as well they are huge and wouldn't be room for much else!

lucieloos · 25/08/2015 18:57

Sammy that's interesting about your positive opk! Keep us posted tomorrow and let us know if af shows her face.

loopylou1984 · 25/08/2015 18:59

I'm sure she will rock up sooner or later, but yes, will update you Smile

Interesting that you were told suprecur didn't have to go in the fridge, I'm almost sure that was the one I was told had to! Xx

lucieloos · 25/08/2015 19:45

It's just has to be kept under 25degrees Sammy. I think a lot of clinics tell you to keep things in the fridge and I think they can be kept for a lot longer in the fridge but if you intend on using them within a couple of months it doesn't really matter.

Trixielilac11 · 25/08/2015 20:24

OMG could you imagine if you are Sammy, what an amazing story that would be.

Planning to use my stuff fairly soon so sure it will all be fine. Just realised I don't have syringes for my suprecur....I take it you can just get them from the pharmacy.

lucieloos · 25/08/2015 20:34

I think you might need a prescription for them trixie. I tried ringing around a couple of pharmacy sad I was a couple short but I couldn't get them. Maybe check with your clinic.

Trixielilac11 · 25/08/2015 21:26

Ah, thanks Lucie. Will email them tomorrow, bit of a pain.

loopylou1984 · 26/08/2015 07:57

AF arrived this morning, bang on 14 day LP as normal despite the delayed ov, so the hormones didn't mess me up too much! So next AF due 25/26 Sep, scan around 28th then on to the drugs! Xx

Trixielilac11 · 26/08/2015 09:56

How odd that you got a positive OPK yesterday Sammy and now AF, great that your cycle hasn't been affected by the IVF meds too much. Mine went pretty much straight back to normal (think I was a day late my first cycle after)

loopylou1984 · 26/08/2015 10:02

After a quick google it seems it is normal to get a LH surge just before AF! X

BettyFlower78 · 26/08/2015 21:52

Hello All,
New to the group but now into cycle 19 and looking for others also struggling. I've not been to the docs yet, recently relocated so not registered at new docs yet.

loopylou1984 · 27/08/2015 08:07

Hi Betty, welcome to the thread Smile.
So you haven't had any blood tests or anything yet?
Get yourself to the doctors ASAP - fx you won't need it, but the waiting from first appointment to actual treatment on the nhs is long, so best to get the ball rolling.
This thread is quite slow moving, but very supportive. Xx

BettyFlower78 · 27/08/2015 17:41

Hi Sammylou, Thank you muchly!
No I haven't yet, think I will get the ball rolling next week.
Support is why I decided to join and start commenting, hubby is supportive but think sometimes you need to chat to other ladies, especially someone in the same position.
Seen you're out this month, fx for you next month!

loopylou1984 · 28/08/2015 09:22

Definitely - mumsnet is my lifeline!

Yes, I'm out... But I was never really in as we had an abandoned IVF in July and we're told not to try the next month to let things get back to normal, so no dtd in the fertile window!
If there's anything you want to know, please feel free to ask! Xx

Trixielilac11 · 28/08/2015 10:41

That's interesting Sammy.

Welcome Betty, you have come to the right place long term TTC is tough and there is loads of support here. I really don't know what I would do without Mumsnet. Definitely get the ball rolling as like Sammy says it can take a while. Have you been doing anything to pinpoint ov or are you taking a more laid back approach?

Managed to sort out syringes for my suprecur, apparently my clinic will give them to me when I go in for my baseline scan, which should be 8 September - not too long now.

Lucie, when are you starting again?

loopylou1984 · 28/08/2015 13:39

Phew Trixie - good news with the needles!

Am I correct in thinking your delaying your cycle a bit and transfer will be early October? Xx

BettyFlower78 · 28/08/2015 17:59

Thank you Sammy, Going to register at Docs on Tuesday then get the ball rolling :)
Trixie Thank you :) Have started using Ov tests, went a bit crazy this month and did 3 or 4 a day once they were positive, just to be sure. Glad I have joined already :D

Trixielilac11 · 28/08/2015 19:00

I thought I was going to have to Sammy but turns out that if AF is on time I won't need to. Transfer will hopefully be on 28th Sept which is ideal for us.

Better to do too many than too few Betty, I think I have a short LH surge and missed it sometimes!

BettyFlower78 · 28/08/2015 20:06

That's what I thought, have now ordered from amazon 15 for 3 quid. That's what I thought, one morning it was a definite pos test but by the late evening it had faded. Have stopped getting my hopes up too much to spare ourselves the upset but do feel fairly positive this month :)
I don't quite understand what you've put to Sammy but hope things are going well for you :)

loopylou1984 · 28/08/2015 20:14

Oh so we're not cycling together anymore then Trixie! Never mind, just promise you'll stick around with me if you get your bfp? Xx

loopylou1984 · 28/08/2015 20:15

Betty - the cheap tests are definitely the way forward! X

Trixielilac11 · 01/09/2015 11:03

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice bank holiday. One week to go until my baseline scan.

Betty, I had a failed IVF cycle back in June/July but was lucky to get some embryos to freeze. We are going ahead with a frozen transfer on the 28 September, really hope that we will be successful this time.

BettyFlower78 · 01/09/2015 11:26

Best of luck Trixie fingers are crossed for you! xx
