Hi Trying - good plan to get dh tested again as i agree quick 3 pregs doesn t really fit with a low sperm prob. Had he been ill or had a fever ? Did he have the sample analysed straight away or could there have been any delay, from others exp on here of them losing tests you could imagine the poss of delays in analysing if it was nhs. The ivf clinics are usu really good at looking at them straight away. Fingers crossed it s good enough to not need icsi.

Hopender · 08/04/2015 07:12

Hi rosa, I stopped aspirin before my BFP too but started it again after positive test and I'm still on it. My feeling is that it is a good idea during pregnancy but I worried about it affecting implantation before for the same reason as you, mixed advice. Your second blood test is tomorrow isn't it? Will be thinking of you today? Are you doing any more tests this morning?

Rosa27 · 08/04/2015 09:02

Thanks Hula- just feels too surreal right now and don't yet trust it.. And such a long way to go, but really appreciate all the lovely comments. I'm so emotional! I did another cheapy test this morning and it was a faint positive. So maybe I really am and hcg levels just still quite low. Took all your advice and started asprin and progesterone last night. I had a message from Mr S too who said keep taking medication and if still positive Thurs, arrange intralilpid for Fri or Sat.
I'm now just worried about loads if things and prob just need to chill out! I've to get a filling next thurs and worried that might be bad news. Also have to travel to London twice this month and my accu lady thinks people should avoid flights if suffer RMC- esp in early days. Hmm.
Trying - agree with Hula on second test. I know someone in London who went two different places and had different results .. I think zita west was the last though and think you've been there? X

Hopender · 08/04/2015 12:04

Hi rosa, the positive test this morning must mean your HCG levels are rising! I am so excited for you! I so want this to work!
I know there is nothing more annoying than being told you shouldn't do something when you have to do it but if there is any way you can avoid flying I would. There is a very early business train from Edinburgh that gets you into London for the start if play - I take it a lot as refuse to fly right now. It might be 5am or something but I would say worth it. I really don't want to scare you and it is probably just coincidence but three of my early miscarriages happened directly after flying and I was told that it could be causing a problem by the doctors - they just don't know enough about it. I guess we all have to make our own decisions about things like this though so just wanted to give you my perspective. If it isn't avoidable then I'm sure it will be ok as pregnant people fly all if the time. I am probably one of the most paranoid people in the world about stuff like this too!
Did you get your first hcg results back yet?

Rosa27 · 08/04/2015 19:04

Hi Hope- think it's just I invalidated the first cheapy by leaving it in too long. They didn't have my results when I called at lunch time and was in meetings until after they closed so will get tomorrow. I hope I get the results for tomorrow's test before weekend so know before intrallipid if things are looking ok.. Though guess advice would be to do intralipids anyway? Thanks for travel advice. My accu lady says she knows people who miscarried after a London flight - and I did after a Croatia to Edin flight so def not up for the risk. At least not in first 3 months (hard to imagine getting past that!) x

Hopender · 08/04/2015 20:38

I think definitely do the intralipids, even though they are massively expensive as they will give your body that extra boost. Where are you having them done?
If your bloods are being sent to the EPU first thing then you should get them back later that afternoon and def on Friday if not. I had mine done at the EPU on the Friday morning and they called me that afternoon at 4.30pm. The good thing is that you can call EPU and get results direct over the phone on Saturday morning if needed though.
Hope you aren't too stressed. How is the spotting? Xx

Rosa27 · 08/04/2015 21:26

Thanks Hope. It's great you've local advice, and agree I should do anyway. First milestone is end of the week. Scared to write I've no spotting in case I go to the loo and jinx it! Hi everyone else and sorry for too much on me. Wishing for promising news soon for all if you.. I am faaaar from complacent here :-/ xx

Rosa27 · 09/04/2015 11:40

Wee update from me.. Tues would have been 13dpo and hcg was 51. Hope, think you said yours was 200+. Hmmm. Anyway had blood taken again today and so if get results tomorrow they should be in 200s I think. Nervous. Also Mr S said to no ok intralipids for tomorrow of Sat if I had a positive today.. I did but do you think I should wait for blood test results tomorrow afternoon first? Any advice gratefully received.. X

sunnyday01 · 09/04/2015 12:02

I don't check in for a few days and it all seems to have been happening!!

How exciting Rosa, i know its really early days but you've got a positive! Its a really scary time especially when youre not sure whats going on. I have a good feeling that this will be good news for you though - we need some good news on this board!!

As for the intralipids, are you able to book it for Sat and then cancel if you don't need it?

Rosa27 · 09/04/2015 12:35

Thanks Sunny - will call and ask.. May just do anyway.. It's a lot but a drop in the ocean as we all know ..

How's things with you?x

Rosa27 · 09/04/2015 12:57

Just been told as Mr S is out the country he can't sign any prescriptions for intrallipids until next week..! They are all great - but I do think they need to look into their holiday cover situ.. Hmm. Hoping it doesn't make a difference ..

Hopender · 09/04/2015 12:58

Hi Rosa, I think 51 is great for day 13. To be honest, I can't really remember when I went for bloods in the first week. I think the first time when it was around 200 was somewhere between day 15 and day 18 - not very helpful I realise! I'll go back through my posts this afternoon to see if I mention it. Either way 51 is good according to everything I can see online. Have to dash as need to collect my little man from nursery but will write more later. Will write back to your other message too. It is all looking really good and so I'd go and organise your intrallipids!

sunnyday01 · 09/04/2015 20:47

Im surprised they don't have a Dr on standby to cover for things like this when he is away, with the number if peopke on his treatment it must be highly likely for someone to get a bfp when he is away.

All ok with me, half way through the 10 day wait - testing on Tuesday. This is round 2 of SO, not got a feeling either way yet - ive sort of given up symptom spotting as it's been different every time! I have been talking to my eggs this month though and also keep telling myself I am pregnant - I probably sound crazy but positive mental attitude and all that!

Rosa27 · 10/04/2015 10:55

I know. I think they had some pre-written prescriptions but ran out. So if he signs first thing Mon I could get a Tue but only if they arrange a courier which costs over £300. I'm hoping in the circumstances they pay.. I can see in one hand I might look unreasonable to ask this for the sake of waiting another day .. But if I was meant to have today then it's 5 days late and I have no idea if that will make a difference. I'm on the complex programme and didn't tolerate Humira or hydroxy well so extra keen to get this. I just want to do everything right .. I hope you all understand but tell me if I've lost the plot!
Sunny - nothing sounds crazy to me anymore! Everything crossed for you on Tues. Hopefully the sunshine is helping the PMAs too. X

Determined123 · 10/04/2015 11:45

Hey there, you haven't lost the plot I was the same. For preg 4 I was reticent to go and Rush up to have intralipids when I only just spent £400 in mc 3 5 weeks prior! I asked Dr S if I could have it the following week and it was also due to work reasons I could t get there and he was absolutely fine with it. Can't remember the days/dates but I wasn't trying that month so didnt deffo know for sure until 12/13dpo and that was New Year's Day... Think I may have phoned 2nd jan which was a Friday for the following week...Mr s seemed cool with it. Hope that helps a bit?! Sending you some irish luck...last day of hols today xx

Hopender · 10/04/2015 16:50

Hi rosa! I didn't have my intrallipds until I was seven weeks pregnant if that helps. Have you had the second blood test results back yet. So hope you get them before the end of the day!

Rosa27 · 10/04/2015 20:10

Thanks Hope. I seem to remember you didn't have the same profile as me though.. I'm v high and active NK plus high thyroid antibodies and cytokines and TNF alpha .. Pretty much the the lot! It's why I'm on the complex programme and just stressed not doing enough as Humira and hydroxy didn't work for me. Need to stay calm as stress won't help I know. The docs didn't have my results so need to wait until Mon now. I did another test this morning and it was darker I'm sure.. But it's what happens between 6-12 weeks I need to worry about .. I'm only just 4... So early. Thanks so much for messages everyone .. Means the world to have this support. I hope you're all feeling zen and positive and the weekend has begun x

Rosa27 · 10/04/2015 20:12

Thanks Determined too- good to know he was relaxed on timings I guess .. I just feel a but frustrated it wasn't possible to get the treatment I was recommended because the holiday cover wasn't there.. Anyway, need to worry about what I can control, not what I can't. X

Determined123 · 10/04/2015 21:14

I agree and would be pretty narked!! As there should be someone there at all times!

I'm a high thyroid antibodies girl like you (amongst other things) and on complex so I hope that also helps?

Yes you need to try and keep calm as we all know how stress is bad (even though this has got to be in the top anxiety/stress causing experiences ever!!) the test is darker so keep reminding yourself of that! You are headed in the right direction
Smile
Am so positive for you!!

Xxx

Rosa27 · 11/04/2015 10:12

Thanks Determined.. I'm going for accu today which should help .. Woke at 4 again and my jaw was clenched! I should be exactly 4 weeks today.. If only could speed up time just a bit.. I'm wondering if will need to increase my levothyroxine now.. Also the nhs consultant said take the cyclogest twice a day but currently doing just at night. Hmm
Anyway next news from me is Mon when will see if the hcg was rising as it should and book the intrallipid.. All being well will then need to figure out when to arrange first scan ..eek.
X

Drttc · 12/04/2015 03:02

Congrats Rosa!!!!! I agree with staying calm... Try everything that you consider soothing!

Glad to see things are progressing nicely for everyone! Big wave hello to you all!

Still in Asia and have been lurking here :) Got a BFN though with a first response on the day AF was due so slightly disappointed! But at the same time I know there are lots of positives to not catching this month (I've not been on hydroxy for the recommended 6 weeks, it's not been two cycles since I last miscarried, I won't have to pay £380 for a Saturday intralipid at home when I get back, I can drink in Asia.... List goes on!). But still kinda wish is been positive- illogically! Waiting on af to show (stopped progesterone/cyclogest two days ago) so I can start again :)

Rosa27 · 12/04/2015 19:25

Thanks for positivity from everyone .. I'm full of dread about blood results tomorrow .. Managed to mentally move through the next 8 months this weekend and don't even know if it's a strong pregnancy yet, never mind got past previous miscarriage dates. At some point in the next month or two my work is going through a restructure and just worried I won't be at my best to keep my job too. Worry, worry, worry. I've been so good with food too but tonight had a melt in the middle choc pudding from M&S and now stressing it will cause my immune system to flair. I'm going grey with the worry and stressing I can't dye my roots.. Does anyone else have a view on hair dye when preg?
Well sorry for another stress update. What will be will be. I need to keep repeating that!
Determined, what stage are you at now? Hope you're ok.
Drttc - make the most of the trip.. It will happen and for now you're in my favourite continent. So jealous. My sister in law is Chinese and we were there 3 weeks when my brother got married. And traveled a bit in SE Asia and would love to go back on another holiday .. No flights for us for now though. It sounds like you're taking cyclogest from ov- is that right? I was told to take only from positive. Sorry if I'm being thick. X

Determined123 · 12/04/2015 22:48

So I've just had a meltdown!'

Big hugs rosa, this time is so hard and you just have to try to stay strong! .a choc pudding will not send your immune system mental enough to cause any issues and I know many people who dyed their hair...although I did and mcd just after but I don't believe it is that. I have read that highlights are better as less dye and not touching skin like permanent so perhaps that is an option??

My period started today with another 6 day LP which is the worst I have ever had, twice in a row now so I just feel like giving up...I know I am probably hormonal and I felt I had a plan but I just don't get how my immune system has got worse...what is making it more aggressive?? Saw another new preg on FB of someone who hasn't 'looked after' themselves of you get me and I'm genuinely happy for them but also feeling a bit why me and I don't get it right now and of course a complete whiner!!

P.s I took prog after ov for a few days due to my rubbish luteal phase. Not on it at moment obviously but maybe I should start?!

Sorry for rant!! Just feel like trying so hard and I can't even get a normal period!!!

Determined123 · 12/04/2015 22:48

Sorry to add yes prog is normally from positive...

Rosa27 · 13/04/2015 16:59

Massive hug Determined. It's so odd isn't it.. Not knowing what's making things work and not. I still don't know my 2nd hcg result so no idea if this is looking to be on right track yet but I can only assume SO helped conception after 7 months of nothing. I did also consciously start carrying water with me and drinking more, as well as cutting out (ok seriously reducing but not exactly as strict as I'd intended) gluten, dairy and sugar. I felt better for it and whether that made a difference or it was psychosomatic who knows!
We all know it's a numbers game and a lottery... Cruel but almost everyone gets there somehow if you can persevere. I always indulged in my moods if I could rather than fight them- cosy up in bed and read and watch a series etc.. Figure it's better for you than to kick yourself when you're already feeling low. I doubt this helps but don't feel alone. We have all been there, are there or might be there again. One other thing I decided in Jan was I didn't want a year to go by with my life on hold so was going to do one amazing thing a month anyway with my OH - and think that started to help too. Maybe... Finally 2weeks before I conceived I started accu again. Def think it helps balance hormones etc. I can't be a case study though as way too early and had worrying pangs last night. Take care and hope you're feeling better today x
