Argh! Got my calculations wrong Sparkly. If I got my pos opk at 10 this morning I can expect to ov from 10am tomorrow - 10pm in the evening, no? So I will AI tonight as usual and then at lunchtime tomorrow. What do you think?

Sparkly123 · 08/02/2015 13:49

Twinkle your dh has super sperm! Grin

Purdey my charts crazy eh?! Why the sudden huge rise! So unlike moi! Tonnes of cm today too! Oh that sounds pretty perfect timing eh. Twelve hour window! Get him on it! He's on the home stretch..! Ha ha

Sparkly123 · 08/02/2015 13:52

Wait is that not what u said before.. 10pm tonight 12 hours from now??.. But then why 10am Tomor why not slightly later? Isn't it 12-36 hours post OPK? Oh but then we don't know when your surge started eh. Hence your 10am-10pm approach yes! So you ain't gonna AI today/tonight you mean??

Sparkly123 · 08/02/2015 13:52

I'm making no sense.
What in saying is: why are you not gonna AI today/tonight?? How do you know your surge started at 10am today and not through the night?!

Twinkletoes007 · 08/02/2015 14:04

purdey am choosing to believe it ain't DH's super sperm - can't let him be thinking he's superman - and am going with an earlier ov - as you say OPKs are bang on and I can't believe ov can be so much after.

Sounds like you've totally pinpointed your fertile window. Really hope this is your month.

MarysPrayer · 08/02/2015 14:17

Yay! Congratulations twinkle!

Although I'm a complete novice I'm quite excited about your chart [geek icon] as like you, we dtd on the day of the first positive opk and the day before, but not the day after, even though I had a second positive opk.

I was worried that this may not have been enough but it certainly was in your case Smile I've updated ff who thinks I ov'd on the second day of opk, but as I don't temp I guess that's all the info it has to go off.

MarysPrayer · 08/02/2015 14:32

twinkle, wouldn't an earlier ov date also explain why you're got such a bloomin' lovely bfp so early (as you're more dpo than ff thinks) ?

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 14:41

Totally see your point about the EWCM Purdey but if you look at my chart and think that I am usually 28 day regular it looks as though the EWCM from day 10 shows my body preparing to release an egg. But then I got the woman flu. So if you follow the EWCM you can almost imagine the egg dancing around on the surface of my ovary going "come on crazypuglady get better, I want to come and play with all of your DHs lovely spermz". Then, as the woman flu drags on its like "Urgh, I'm getting bored of waiting now, I might just go back in, you clearly ain't ready for me this month" and the EWCM dries up. Then, around day 17 & 18, the egg is like "hang on, I can do this, come on EWCM. Spermz, I'm coming to get ya" so then on CD18 I get loads of EWCM (as well as the random horn), jump DH, and now look where we're at!

So yeah, the conclusion is the EWCM can be a good sign Blush

CoffeeTwo · 08/02/2015 14:49

So much to catch up on you chatty lot! Laughing at Scott the husband Grin

Congratulations crazypuglady whoknew and Twinkle :)

Sorry to those with AF or BFNs :(

Noticed a couple of other Lancashire Lasses on this thread, high five! Bring on the North West babies!

6dpo.

MissMrsMummy · 08/02/2015 14:54

sammy I wrote a message but I can't see it now! Stop the medicine after ov as it could be dangerous for baby

Allthefours · 08/02/2015 14:55

Ladies - help!!

So I decide to POAS today. Went to superdrug picked up a pack of their cheaply tests get to counter woman says we have a twin digi pack reduced to 50p because they are out of date end of February. Being the tight was I am decide to spend 50p.
So POAS and the digi display says not pregnant. Cue disappointment. I eject the cartridge and there is clearly two lines on there.
Just wondered, having never used a digi before whether this is a positive and too light for the digi to read or whether it is BFN.
I'm around 12/13 dpo I think.

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 15:16

I can see the line Allthefours. I'd wait a couple of days and then use the other one out the pack. If still BFN but showing a line like that I'd get a better test. FX Smile

mummyofonesofar · 08/02/2015 15:40

That's odd allthefours someone had this with a digital opk earlier this week too. Maybe digital not all it's cracked up to be!!

CoffeeTwo · 08/02/2015 15:45

I think I've read somewhere before that lines on a digital are not the same as normal lines and should be discounted, but I don't want to be the voice of negativity and really hope this is you bfp Flowers

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 16:10

Argh! I wish we could know definitively what goes on regarding opks and the time to ovulation! Sparkly, please post your pregnancy chart so we can see how you ov'd three days after your first LH surge. Do you mind? Crazy, can we see yours again? Your body, I agree, was doing weird stopping-and-starting ewcm. It just boils down to having loads of sex, doesn't it? Unless you're crazy and her husband!

Sparkly, I am not in the ovulation-can-occur-from-twelve-hours-after-the-surge gang. Most authoritative studies show 24-36 hrs, with the typical average being 36. I tested up to 9pm last night and they were negative. I tested at 9am and it was shite. 10am was positive. So, by my calculations I will ov between 10am tomorrow morning (24 hrs later) and 10pm in the evening (36 hrs later). What do you reckon? I am therefore going to AI tonight and tomorrow lunch. Leaving it to tomorrow night is risky as I may well ov at 10 tomorrow morning and the egg only lives up to twelve hours.

BabyBumpHopeful · 08/02/2015 16:12

Allthefours I don't want to be the bearer of negativity but there will almost always be 2 lines on a digi stick because it tests for LH as well as HCG.

Here's a post online that talks about it: babyandbump.momtastic.com/pregnancy-tests/2034883-clearblue-digital-inside-test-strip-2.html

That's why you discount the lines on a digi and only go by the read-out

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 16:14

Fours, I agree with Coffee re digis. The lines underneath don't mean anything in relation to pregnancy detection. That's what I've heard anyway. Disclaimer: I have never used a digi or taken one apart Thanks

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 16:15

Sorry, crossed posts with Baby's much more authoritative post.

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 16:17

I'm off to the cinema tonight with my bezzie to watch Kajaki: The True Story. Loads of limbs being blown off and stuff. Love it.

PurdeyBirdie · 08/02/2015 16:18

Apologies to anyone who knows someone who lost a limb in Afghanistan Blush

MrsGingerbread · 08/02/2015 16:21

I'm a slow temp riser too- so including mine for reference in case it helps at all.
The two green blobs are my peak clearblue digital opks (I went from high Wednesday morning to peak in the evening - all negative results until then) I also had ewcm both these days.

I read something the other day about age being a factor with OPK with young women showing a surge 24-36 hours before ovulation but older women not getting a positive until ovulation or afterwards.

(please ignore me if I read it on this thread!)

Allthefours · 08/02/2015 16:32

Thanks for the info about the digi's. I was very confuse hence the question. So looks like a BFN for me then. Sad

Back to the drawing board I guess.

BabyBumpHopeful · 08/02/2015 16:35

Sparkly yep I got in her in the end. It was about 15 minutes and I was close to full-on panic. I'm a frustration crier and there was a party or something across the road so I didn't want to draw too much attention to my idiocy :S

It's been a bad car month anyway... and I'm at 3rd times the charm (broke one, locked self out of one, and left lights on frying wiring in the other :S).

BabyBumpHopeful · 08/02/2015 16:40

Allthefours you were due on Feb 4 according to the stats, are you now late? Or AF? Maybe try a different test just in case if you are late?
