Hello ladies,

Last bus looks full up. Unless there is a new one that I can't find...

Boris sorry to hear that the witch has shown up, enjoy the wine and chocolate before the March bus!

MrsGingerbread · 07/02/2015 15:21

Congratulations to the bfps and apologies to those of you who had had a visit from the witch.

Rainy good luck with the b6 - it really has changed my cycles.

Juney thank you for the information. You say 'straws' do they come ready to use, loaded in just normal syringes?

I've made the mistake of telling dh how expensive swimmers are. I think he might start invoicing me from next month!

juneybean · 07/02/2015 15:23

I think I have to add a device to them to turn them into a syringe... It involves cutting ends off...I'm sure I'll be on here next week, begging for help sitting in a puddle of frozen goo....

crazypuglady · 07/02/2015 15:24

That's ok MrsGingerbread, just invoice him for your 'services'. I can guarantee they'll be a lot more expensive Wink

mummyofonesofar · 07/02/2015 15:25

Sparkly it was the least he could do after I had to tuck his drunken self in last night 1.5 hours later than expected! Think I'll jump him tonight too just incase this is ov time! Might be wrong and 3 days too early. Time will tell!

mrscatmad31 · 07/02/2015 15:32

Just popping in, still got ages until af due, congrats on the bfps!

TTC #1 cycle 2 BFP due 25th February

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 15:51

Sparkly, what brilliant, brilliant volume of sperm your hubby has! I mentioned here previously that, until I force-fed DH supplements in the six months prior to IVF, his volume was 16 million per ml. On the day of IVF it was 59 million. I have read that the average British male does not have great sperm. Great sperm is not always needed to make a baby, but I do think these couples who fall preggo quickly and without much sex probably have a fella there with mighty sperm. Question: how does one even manage to draw just one or two ml up a syringe?

DH normally fills the blimmin' syringe, but clearly the majority of that is semen and not sperm Hmm

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 15:54

Sparkly, what's your hubby's motility and morphology? How old is he? Does he eat exactly what you eat? What supps does he take?

Grin at Gingerbread.

Off to find Juney's charts...

blondiewoowoo1 · 07/02/2015 15:55

Congrats on the BFP's - yay!
twinkle I got a bfn on a FRER 3 days before af due then got a bfp 1 day before I was due so as others have said, it's not over yet!
Have done a superdrug early test and it's a bfn. Bleeding has started again and more of it but as af is not due until Tues I don't know when to count it from as having started as I've been like this for past 5/6 days. Any thoughts? I'm wondering whether to just do the OV sticks next Friday and keep going until I get smiley face (if I get one) Ate loads last week too which for me always happens before af arrives so I'm taking it as this is her!

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 16:05

Juney, this chart is interesting in that FF tentatively place ovulation at the wrong day. The clinic have obviously taken the first pos opk as the true surge and inseminated the day after. More to come when Mumsnet gives me more photo space...!

Sparkly123 · 07/02/2015 16:08

Purdey pie, how do you mean "up a syringe"? It's easily pulled up?? Sorry I don't understand!! Ha ha. All the GP said was his sample was totally fine and had 100million... He never mentioned the morphology etc which is why I'm so surprised when you all mention it as I know nothing about that?! Oh and you will hate this reply- he eats ok, no way near as healthy as me but most of the time he eats fresh made home cooking. He eats meat. He's 30 and no supps at all which I was worried about!!! Maybe he is just a really good sperm producer?! He doesn't drink a lot anymore though. Only every odd weekend and not to excess as before.

My update today is.. Temp rise!! But freaking out that we did AI too early and now are out the game?! Is it pointless doing tonight? If only that stupid sample yesterday had worked!!

Here's my chart Purdey I think ff has it wrong!

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 16:26

Sparkly, you are quite bonkers and not a little irrational Look at the timing of AI - it was brilliant. Even if you ov'd at midnight Monday the egg would only have been capable of being fertilised up to noon on Tuesday. You had extra AIn Wednesday too! You really could not have done better. In fact, I would hazard a guess that your DH's sperm is so awesome that the sperm from CD10 was still going strong six days later - not to mention the super-sperm knocking around from CD12!

By my calculations - and assuming each sample contained 2ml of 200 million sperm - you had 1,000,000,000 sperm waiting in your fallopian tubes...and that doesn't include the longevity of CD10's little swimmers!

One question: were the temps on CD15 and CD18 identical?

P.s..my query about drawing the semen up was because, when I draw DH's up there is always a miniscule residue left in the cup. I imagined half that sample size would be difficult to pull up in its entirety.

australopithecus · 07/02/2015 16:28

My favourite moment of catch-up has been mama's phone auto correcting "about" to call her husband "Scott"! Grin

Lillygolightly · 07/02/2015 16:30

Congrats to crazypug and whoknew

Sorry about AF Borris wishing you lots of luck for your BFP to come soon.

Sparkly123 · 07/02/2015 16:45

Purdey yep exactly same temp CD 15&18.. how come? Concerned I OVd later though as per my other charts.. I just feel I may have OV 18 at earliest?! Is this silly?! Think it's cause my temps are lower and I had so much cramping yesterday. OPKs still showing faint lines. Yes I think I'm being irrational!! It's the bad sample yesrtday that's putting these doubts in prob" what if that was the ONE".. I'm mental! Ha.
Re syringe... Don't you let it Liquify first in the sample container though??? This is what makes it easy to draw up into the syringe.

Sparkly123 · 07/02/2015 16:46

But on the positive I have def ovulated right?!! Woooooo!!! Grin

crazypuglady · 07/02/2015 16:51

Yay for the ov sparkly regardless of when it was Grin looks to me like there was plenty in there ready to pounce when the egg came out. I'll cross my fingers and toes that this is your month.

juneybean · 07/02/2015 16:52

Ahh am home from work (not that I've done much work, been on this thread all day!)

Thanks for that chart purdey! I never charted when I did IUI, I should have, although I knew I was out the second time as I took my temperature on 12dpo and 14dpo and 14 had dropped considerably! Then AF came later that day the bitch.

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 16:52

Boris, I am sorry for your disappointment ThanksCakeBiscuitx 12

Sparkly, FF is obviously going with its 'three over six' strategy for pinpointing ov (even though CD18 temp was only equal to that of CD15). What can I say? You're a ruddy anomaly, missus. I've never been as bamboozled by someone as you (in terms of charting): you ov three days after the LH surge (except this month!); your temps are excrutiatingly slow to rise after ov; and your first post-mc cycle is completely and utterly on track as any other month!

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 16:57

Sparkly! Great tidings I bring! Even if you did ov on CD18 there would be the same amount of sperm waiting to fertilise the egg - 1,000,000,000!

FF may well be wrong, you know, but they'll correct themselves later on. For you, though - in terms of volume of semen in situ - there is no difference whether you ov'd on 16 or 18 Smile

PurdeyBirdie · 07/02/2015 16:58

...because you have 5 x AI sperm samples.

mummyofonesofar · 07/02/2015 17:13

Watching a sperm and ovulation a video on you tube earlier - yes I am that sad - the walls of our vaginas are acidic to protect from infections but acid kill sperm! Not helpful for us ttc lot! Also sperm travels 1 meter from where it is stored to tip of the penis. Interesting really. Completely off topic and random though. Sorry everyone - as you were Blush

juneybean · 07/02/2015 17:15

Not off topic! We were talking about a youtube vid last night Grin I find it all very fascinating!

mummyofonesofar · 07/02/2015 17:24

Yeah I saw a video a while back but thought I could refresh my memory and maybe the sperm waiting in situ now would learn what they need to do. I hope OH has super sperm and not lazy modern man sperm. Time will tell I guess.

Sparkly123 · 07/02/2015 17:31

A medical marvel I would call it Purdey it's insane eh. Cant get my head round it! Thanks for all your positivity on it. I guess there is no point in AI now. It's just time for the waiting game!
