Siarie I didn't do the massage Confused

I did hypnotherapy thing, is that the same? But I started late and didn't take my cd with me to hospital. It really calmed me down during the pregnancy.

Just been reading some threads and it sounds like the cm is normal, but it just kind of feels very 'tight' down there Hmm and I know the stitches go all the way back becAuse multiple people had to put their fingers in my bum to check it wasn't stitched up Blush

It's all so glamorous isn't it Smile

Siarie · 12/02/2015 08:41

Haha glamorous but needed! I would go to your GP. Sounds like they might need to make some adjustments. Or they may say give it more time, but I shoild think the doctor will be able to advise in fact I bet they get this all the time.

When you think about it, it would be much worse if they didn't check that they hadn't over stitched! So a bit of prodding doesn't seem so bad compared!

I'm deffo going to do the massage then, anything to stretch that area to prepare it!

Cupcake92 · 12/02/2015 10:33

Sorry I went a bit awol last night. Just enjoyed myself at my moms was really nice :)

Ducky yeah id go see GP just to check :)

Glad you had a nice time cupcakeSmile

Siarie, yes massage!!!! Tbh hving the episiotomy itself wasn't so bad, but it was just after, they didn't get me any pain relief for 8 hours due to emergencies/change over so I was in agony, couldn't walk or sit Confused

Cupcake92 · 12/02/2015 16:26

Ducky what exactly is an episiotomy? Confused

This has been such a hard week. Even phoned up sick to work as I just couldn't face going in yet as they'd all ask why my rings aren't on :\

Ducky23 · 12/02/2015 16:30

They cut you to get the baby out Blush then stitch you back up.

It will be difficult cupcake but you will be happier because of it, ds won't have to grow up watching his dad treat his mom like crap either Smile you will feel so much better soon x

Cupcake92 · 12/02/2015 17:40

Ohhh I see! Ouch Blush

And I know, will take time and everything, but I just hope DS will be good for me now his dad's gone. Thays what I'm worried about, his behaviour turning bad because of all this.

Well I'm treating myself to a takeaway tonight and Gonna chill and watch the soaps :)

OP posts:
Siarie · 12/02/2015 18:18

Enjoy your take away cupcake, DS will be better off this way rather than growing up with your DH showing him how to treat a woman.

My DH is away tonight Sad I'll see him tomorrow afternoon as we're going out to celebrate our "together" anniversary. But it's too quiet here just me, bump and the cats.

LuluJakey1 · 12/02/2015 19:25

Wish we were having a takeaway Cupcake! We had pasta and it was very ordinary.

DH is knackered. He is lying upstairs on the bed with DS. I am lazing on the sofa with my iPad in the sitting room.

Cupcake, DS won't become badly behaved. You will be happier and so will he.

I wouldn't worry about it Cupcake. What you are describing sounds normal.

He can probably just sense the change cupcake, ds was very very unsettled after coming out of hospital and both the midwife and health visitor said it's because they are so sensitive to change, I'm sure hel be fine and much happier in a few days Smile takeaway and soaps sounds great to me!

Tori I hope you have a nice time Grin

Is your DH off now lulu?

Cupcake92 · 12/02/2015 21:13

Thanks Siarie. And Aw bless Siarie I used to get nervous being alone when pregnant. :(

Thanks lulu. I can't wait to go to bed tonight too im knackered. Are they both asleep in bed?

Tori that sounds really nice :) and how lovely of u what a nice idea.

Thanks ducky :) and yeah Ur right there about them sensing change! DS hates change normally.

LuluJakey1 · 12/02/2015 21:48

He finishes tomorrow Ducky. He can't wait.

I think what you said about your episiotomy is pretty normal. They say lots of lube and taking DTD very slowly helps. Blood pooing is probably piles from pregnancy.

My cousin was cut and stitched by a surgeon who was struck off some years later for the damage he did to women. She was offered another operation to put all the damage right but couldn't bear the thought because it had all been so awful. She never had another baby and still has problems- not sure what.

Cupcake - no, they were just lying in the dark resting. They are both up now and full of beans. DS is shouting- he makes quite a lot of different noises other than snuffly ones now. DH is having a can of Guinness. I am ready for bed now. DS has had another lively day.

I am wondering if DH has remembered Valentine's Day. He usually does. I have got him a card and some of his favourite chocolate and a t-shirt.

lillamyy1 · 12/02/2015 23:02

What a lovely valentine's Tori! And it's a lovely idea to make a donation.
Hope the doc sorts out your 'downstairs' problem Ducky! I'm very nervous about being in pain down below after the birth Blush I read a thread about things wen wished they'd known about labour beforehand and loads of people were saying how sore and bruised and swollen they were for weeks after Shock Not looking forward to that!
Hope you have a nice evening in Cupcake. I'm sure DS will be loads happier now your H has gone. Don't worry about what people at work think - I can't imagine anyone disapproving, and I'm sure they won't gossip etc.
Siarie, I hope your evening alone is ok.
I'm in sooo much discomfort and can't wait for this baby to come out!! I keep getting horrid pains in my ribs where they're separating I guess, and my pubic bone hurts every time I get in or out of bed Or turn over or change position in the sofa. I'm also sick of carrying so much weight about! But it'll all be worth it for this little fella Smile
He's so wriggly and kicky all the time!! I hope he's not going to be too hyperactive when he's here!! Confused
I've stocked up on a couple more things, including some super absorbent, extra long and wide sanitary towels because the maternity pads I bought are really fat and not very wide. But will sanitary pads work the same? They're night time ones, the most absorbent you can get.

lillamyy1 · 12/02/2015 23:04

Lulu do you and your DH usually surprise each other on valentine's? I always ask to make sure DP has got me something, but we're not bothering at all this year! He'll be at work all eve on sat, but I'm not bothered really Smile

LuluJakey1 · 12/02/2015 23:18

Lilla, we always do something thoughtful for each other, not usually anything huge, just nice. I will make him a nice meal as well. He won't forget, he is good like that.

He said before when there was a Valentine advert on TV. 'Oh is that soon? ' and winked at me. Ha,ha DH! That was sooo funny!

If I was guessing, I would guess flowers and some perfume, a nice card and maybe some chocolates. He is very creative and sometimes draws me cards with little personalised cartoon stories on.

Ducky23 · 13/02/2015 01:00

Lil with dd I hardly bled, so for ds I brought the night time sanitary towels... Oh how I was wrong. I think it was mainly due to the episiotomy but I was wearing two of the hospital mega huge mat pads on top of each other and changing them every hour at least for the first day Confused then I had to send my mom out to buy loads of the normal massive pads Confused the night time ones just made all down there hurt more as they are all scented (I tried loads when the bleeding calmed down) so once everything got a bit lighter I used asda little anges slim maternity towels and they were the most comfiest. I had tried a few others once when asda ran out but they were the best I think.

LuluJakey1 · 13/02/2015 07:08

I didn't bleed that heavily Lilla- like a heavy period and only for about a fortnight and it was done. I did buy maternity pads but ordinary night time pads were enough after a day and after a week just ordinary day time ones. I think you'll just have to see how it goes.

Cupcake92 · 13/02/2015 10:57

Lilla I felt like u when I was pg with ds. But I was in slow labour at that point lol. Slow labour started at 37 weeks. How many weeks are u lilla?
And as for pads.... I had the most biggest thickest ones on and couldn't even wear normal pants as I was guaranteed to leak. So I work superdrugs disposable pants until bleeding calmed down.

Cupcake92 · 13/02/2015 15:27

Very pleaded with myself today as ive just figured out I can order replacement bits to fix the blinds Grin so instead of replacing all the blinds that would cost me £80 ive ordered replacement parts that cost me £8.96!! Grin very pleased!!

OP posts:
lillamyy1 · 13/02/2015 16:19

Oh dear Confused I'd better get some more maternity ones and disposable pants as well just in case! Which ones/size should I get? I'm a 12-14 at the moment but don't want them to be too tight.

I'm 32 weeks today... Hope it's not labour! Don't think so, although I've had some horrid aches in my tummy on the right hand side when baby's been moving today. I think it's probably just muscles/ligaments. Ugh, I can't believe I've got another 5-8 weeks of increasing discomfort left!

Cupcake92 · 13/02/2015 18:29

Lilla these are the ones I brought
Size 14-16 www.superdrug.com/2-for-£1-50-on-selected-Superdrug/Superdrug-My-Little-Star-New-Mum-Disposable-Briefs-x5/p/625050

I had to buy lots of them! Lol!
