Lill I loved the epidural! It was the best thing ever! Being in active labour for 2 days and also 2 weeks of slow labour, an epidural was the perfect thing to actually let me get some rest. It's not so bad honest :) I never even felt the epidural being put in! It takes about half hour to start working and I remember shouting at them saying "I know Uve not even put it in! I couldn't feel it and I'm in pain still!" And I also called them liars and then suddenly the pain disappeared haha Grin I did appologise to them !

Don't be nervous tho Lill, as Tori said most deliveries go relatively well :) u'll be okay. Take it from me, mine was one of the worst deliveries ever but here I am pregnant and wanting to do it again! :) it's not bad honest.

I keep telling myself, get to Monday and U'll he okay as there'll be only 1 week exactly till the scan!

I've ticked that I'd rather have an emergency epidural than forceps. It didn't scare me but I don't want to risk the damage to my own muscles, which I asked about when I was in the class too.

cupcake I'm the same as you, I might have spoken about it before? If I eat chilli's or certain products cause sensitivity there which feels the same as a UTI. When I was a teenager I thought I had them all thoe time but eventually I realised it was happening when I ate a certain pasta sauce. It weird, if I have several dishes with jalapeños and chilli in one day it builds up to be worse.

I still eat spicy food because I love it but i try and avoid having too much in one day.

Cupcake92 · 06/03/2015 09:33

Yeah Siarie just like me, but I don't think spicy food causes mine as I always eat spice lol but pregnancy seems to all the time without fail! And if I'm stressed and overworked. They usually just automatically whack me on antibiotics and I became immune to one called Trimethoprim. But this doctor actually explained in just sensitive and it feels like I've got one but I've not.
I'm glad I'm not the only one Siarie!

Hmm, I don't think that was very helpful of the midwife lil! DD was helped out by a ventouse (in our hospital they try and avoid forceps) because she was getting distressed, and it was fine, although I'd had an epidural already.

You can get mobile epidurals too I think - so pain is reduced but you can still move about. With DS I wouldn't have been able to walk about but I wasn't totally numb either. I think it's good to be aware of all the possibilities, but it does sound like she was trying to scare you!

Siarie · 06/03/2015 09:50

It's a right pain in pregnancy mind, as you have to look for other signs of a UTI. Last one I had I was lucky that I had only just gone for a midwife appointment and they checked my urine.

Aww Sad, you're in for a rough ride for a while, at least I can avoid the things mostly for me. I do find drinking lots help to dilute your urine, if I have an episode I drink loads of water and in fact cranberry juice does seem to help even though it's not a UTI. I wonder what the science is behind that.

Ducky23 · 06/03/2015 10:15

Glad there's no uti cupcake Grin

I had a 'mobile' epidural, I was told they are called that as you can still move your legs etc but you still aren't allowed to move about as there is a risk of you falling and therefore could hurt baby if you move so your stuck on the bed still! My epidural didn't work though, they had put it in wrong and by the time they came to sort it it was too late. Personally I really didn't like it, I really felt it being done and was stuck on the bed with a catheter Confused

I'm feeling even worse after taking them meds Hmm

Tbh tori when I had dd the gas and air did absoloutely nothing for me at all, when I had ds it was amazing, I think it really depends how you use it, I think I you took too much too quick you go a bit out of it, it takes practice in my experience! Grin

Siarie · 06/03/2015 13:38

Tori that can happen if you over use it I think. You want to take a breath in just before the peak of the contraction then it should take effect for the peak. Giving lots of time after to breathe normally lol! I think quite a few people just have it attached to their mouth the whole time.

My back is killing today, I'm trying to pack as we are heading back to stay with friends for the weekend. I keep walking into a room and forgetting what I wanted from it.

Cupcake92 · 06/03/2015 17:57

Mobile epidural??!! Never heard of that but I want it! lol! I can't wait for labour!
Ive been feeling very sick today. Brought some sickness wrist bands but they only seemed to calm the sickness down a little bit but not completely.

Scan is only 1 week and 3 days away. It can't come soon enough.

Been a bit quiet here hasn't it!

Well there's more to the story of h and the girl at work... The other night he put a pic of one of the dogs on Facebook, straight away she liked it and commented on it saying 'your dog is so cute I want him :-)' then I noticed he was messaging someone, I asked him who it was and he said it was her and I said what does she want and he just said 'nothing' so the next day I looked, she had messaged saying 'your dog is so cute, I want him, bring him to me ;)' then h said nope he's mine :p' and she said 'pretty please I'm really drunk ;)' and he said 'nope' then she said 'oh I'm going to cry into my vodka

It sounds really innocent but I keep thinking, why does she need to message, why all the 'winky' faces and why does she feel the need to mention that she's drunk Confused

Cupcake92 · 08/03/2015 13:52

Ducky that 100% sounds like she's trying to get him into bed!! Mentioning she's drunk and telling him to go there basically. Its disgusting. Sounds more like her trying to persuade him to like her!

So firstly - Yes ducky that's 100% flirting from her side. I'd say your DH is playing it safe with his replies for now but he isn't declining the flirtatious behaviour so he obviously is finding it at least entertaining at most he hasn't decided yet what he wants to do.

I've been quiet because I went to see friends on the weekend. Turned out my DH and one if our friends had planned a surprise baby shower for me. It was lovely! The sun was shining and hot yesterday, my DH had booked a function room in a really lovely hotel looking over a beautiful bridge. Loads of people came and the food was great my friend had picked such cute cupcakes, so I've literally been away from my phone for ages.

The only small issue was I had another hour of contraction like BH yesterday evening. Seems to definitely be linked to walking for me, but luckily it stopped.

I wouldn't of had any of my hospital stuff with me, I only took my notes!

Siarie that sounds lovely Smile

Tori, glad everything is ok. It's horrible when you get reduced movements!

See I don't know whether his replies were 'safe' because he knew I would look Confused I think I'm just going to keep an eye on it ATM.

Why would someone be such a bitch to try and get a married man who's wife just had a baby Hmm there's some scum out there.

lillamyy1 · 08/03/2015 23:54

Do you know what Ducky, if it was me I'd have probably contacted her myself by now and asked her who the f**k she thinks she is! But then again, that would probably a be a bit of an immature way to go about things! It's very difficult because your H hasn't done anything to warrant you bringing it up with him.
I had a baby shower today as well! DP secretly suggested it to my female friends and they organised it secretly (although they told me to keep the day free last week so I knew something was going on). It wasn't anything fancy, just lots of party food and cups of tea round mine but they brought loads of balloons and confetti and we played articulate. It was a great day!
Unfortunately it's been ruined slightly now because DP and I have had a fall out Sad it's not really a big one but I've gone off in a huff to bed and now I'm missing the series we were watching on telly. But I can't go down again because it'll look like I've given in! And I'm not even tired so just sitting up here with nothing to do! Aargh!!

Siarie · 09/03/2015 13:34

Lil That sounds lovely too, I wouldn't of minded being in a house or wherever really it's just nice to see friends all coming together isn't it?

Can I give you one piece of advice that has always worked for me? Never go to bed angry, if you have something you disagree about always talk it through and don't shout at each other. Remember both people have to compromise and try and look at yourself to see if you are being silly, if you are laugh and say so.

Me and my DH don't argue, that doesn't mean we don't disagree with things sometimes but we always discuss them like adults and come to a compromise where both people are giving a little.

You don't have to listen to me of course, but I just thought it might help.

lillamyy1 · 09/03/2015 14:25

Thanks Siarie, that's how we usually sort out arguments, but I'm so irritable at the momen that I had to go and cool off for a bit before discussing it or it would have escalated!! We've made up now anyway Smile
Did/is anyone else feeling really hormonal and irritable towards the end of pg? I feel like I've got severe pmt Confused

Haha! Yeah but because I know I'm being irrational I don't voice any of it. Not long to go now Lil.

To be honest I find sometimes I'm sat on the sofa and I just feel sad for no reason at all. I'm very open with my DH though, I had it last night and I said that I felt sad and I don't know why and he usually comes over to spend some time cheering me up.

Ducky23 · 09/03/2015 17:57

lil I was really tempted but she works with h so if it's nothing on his part it would have made things really awkward for him Confused your shower sounds lovely. Hope you and DH have made up!

I was super tetchy towards the end! Grin

Cupcake92 · 09/03/2015 22:02

I'm hormonal and I'm only 6 and a half weeks pg lmao! Grin

I'm so sick and so nackered :( I have to wear my travel bands constantly because when I take them off I'm off to the toilet every 5 mins feeling like I'm about to throw up :( and my body aches and I just want to sleep all day! Why won't anyone let me sleep all day!? Lol honestly.... I'm so tired Grin
