Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I'm in Dubai but it wasn't much of a culture shock having lived here when I was a teenager. I do hope I can eventually bring my kids up in the UK though.

It definitely seems like a very lucky thread! I was cheering you on cupcake when I was reading through the whole thing Grin

Lilla it sounds like you're being extremely patient with MIL. That's my biggest fear when it comes to having kids - other people interfering! I'm the biggest control freak. Being 3500 miles away from the in-laws does have its advantages Wink

AbFab86 · 19/02/2015 22:33

And thanks CP for the info. I had wondered if they might not work because of the PCOS but they're not expensive so won't have lost much if not. I'm going to do it alongside temping so hopefully I'll be able to get some sort of idea.

I sooo want to start trying now but if by some absolute fluke it works first time round then baby would be due at an awkward time of the school year. Over here the maternity leave is the grand total of.....45 days. So if I can time it just before the summer holidays that'd be ideal. Because of course it always goes to plan like that Wink

LuluJakey1 · 19/02/2015 23:45

Cupcake- that's awful MIL taking Hs side when she knows what he is like. If DH and I split like that I think mine would still want to support me and keep in touch but DH is her son and although she would kick his arse she loves him and wouldn't cut him off. I think she would just not take sides long term.

I can't imagine DH ever doing those kind of things but you never know. I don't suppose you ever saw H doing them before he did. But I have never seen DH be unkind or really horrible in 6 years. So FX.

I do hope you get sorted Cupcake. Is he still there?

Don't envy you a pushy MIL Lilla.

LuluJakey1 · 19/02/2015 23:46

And Cupcake.......Bobby! He looked like Damien from The Omen I thought.

Ducky23 · 20/02/2015 07:32

An fab 45 days is not long enough Blush how mean!

Cupcake his family are nuts! I bet he's told them a different story and they don't know how much of an idiot he is!

Well ds didn't sleep all day, he fell asleep when I went up to bed with him at 9.30 (I was exhausted!) woke up for one feed at 4 then slept until 7! Grin

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 10:29

That's great Ducky! That is almost a night's sleep for you. Hope that is his next routine.

DS woke at half 5 and DH fed him and I have just woken up at 10 am. Can't believe it!!

They have been downstairs since just after 7 apparently. I must have needed the sleep.

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 19:58

So, DH has decided he is not going to the match tomorrow, he would rather be with DS.

What about me? Hmm

AbFab86 · 20/02/2015 20:07

Lulu you go to the match instead Wink

Ducky - rubbish isn't it?! Clearly a law made by a man...or a woman who hasn't had to work a day in her life. I don't think any woman is in a fit state to go back and teach teenagers 45 days after giving birth Confused

Ducky23 · 20/02/2015 20:16

Lulu bet you feel great after that lie in! I'm sure DH would love to be with you too Smile

Abfab I don't think I could have looked after myself 45 days after giving birth let alone a class of teenagers! Did you say this was your first?

Well it's AF... I think Confused going to ring the gp Monday. I'm a bit worried. Tmi alert but it's like it's just small red blood clots Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 20:28

I don't want to go! I meant why doesn't he want to stay with me. I can remember a time when he could not bear to leave me but I haven't been mentioned. Wink

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 20:32

He said 'I've decided not to go to the match love. I don't want to miss being with DS for nearly 2 days just for football and a few beers'. No mention of me. Grin

I think I'll leave him to it then tomorrow and take myself off shopping into town.

Cupcake92 · 20/02/2015 20:33

lol Lulu Grin think DH is besotted with ur DS ! That's so sweet tho :)

Ducky yeah it's probably best to just check with the gp no harm in doing that :) they might be able to help stop the bleeding.

I'm so so ill tonight :( had a migraine all day n now it's making me feel sick :(

OP posts:
AbFab86 · 20/02/2015 20:42

Shopping does sound like a much better idea Smile Maybe DH meant the 3 of you but just didn't specify?

Ducky - Yep, when (NOT if Smile) we conceive, this will be my first. If we can time it right, we'll get the summer holidays too. Pfft!

Cupcake sorry to hear about your migraine. Have you tried alka seltzer xs? I'm not sure if there's anything in it that can't be taken when you're pregnant but my mum has migraines a lot and it is the only thing that helps. That and peppermint oil on your temples.

Ducky23 · 20/02/2015 20:57

Oh no cupcake! Apart from that how have you been? Is stbxh (Grin) still in the house?

Abfab are the school holidays as long over there?

Tori - I told DH I might go up to town for the day to orrow and he said to DS (who is tucked up on the sofa with him) 'That's me and you on our own tomorrow then Jo-Jo. What d'you fancy doing? Lie in, late breakfast, walk along the prom, back here for lunch and the football? Lads day eh?' Hmm

I am definitely going!

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 21:46

Tori- he used to lie in bed and talk to the bump and give it a kiss and a pat.

Cupcake92 · 20/02/2015 21:48

Oo what is that Ab? Not heard of that but I must get it! Even harder when u have a 1 year old n can't go to bed till they are fast asleep lol!

Stbxh I like that ducky! Grin and he's still living here but hardly even here but bes agreed to move out. And is looking at some houses next week. So that's a plus! But ive been okay thanks Ducky. Just concentrating on getting this qualification now :) had to tell my boss about the positive test as I was worried it would affect the apprenticeship. BUT it turned out great!!! She said if I complete it and get my qualification by the time I go on Mat leave then I can come back after Mat leave and start my permanent job part time but on more money! :) so worked out so well!!

Aaww Tori ! Bless, they become so besotted with the babies they forget we need compliments too lol Grin

The other night, he cuddled in behind me in the middle of the night when we couldn't sleep, and murmured ' If you played for the Bantams, what position would you play?' Hmm

Bantams = Bradford City

LuluJakey1 · 20/02/2015 21:53

That is good news Cupcake on the H front and the job front. Well done you!

Ducky23 · 20/02/2015 22:22

That's excellent cupcake Grin it's looking up for you now! Grin

Cupcake92 · 21/02/2015 06:36

Oh Lulu Grin
And thank u :)

Thanks Ducky. Finally feel happy!! Smile
But it's that hen do all day today. I have no money as I wasn't paid as something went wrong! Not being paid till Monday now so I'm gonna struggle to pay for it all. And poor DS is ill today :( his chest is awful. Lots of coughing and moaning. Want to stay home and cuddle him !

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 21/02/2015 08:44

Isn't that just typical Cupcake! Today of all days. If DS is ill can you go? Who was babysitting? It sounds like one of those nights we all dread.

This morning's offering from DH.
DH 'Are you going shopping then? '
Me 'Yes, why?'
DH 'Would you not rather come with us. We are going up to the country park for a walk'
Me ' I thought you were having a 'Lads' Day'.'
DH 'Well I've discussed it with DS and we thought you could be an honorary lad for the day so you could come with us. You don't have to pee standing up or anything, so don't worry about that'.

I had to laugh. Grin

Siarie · 21/02/2015 09:00

Haha Lulu, sure you don't want to try peeing standing up?Grin

Great news cupcake, I hope you can get something sorted for the hen party.

Nothing much planned today, I think we are going to try some shopping. I need a few things so does DH. I find it quite hard to walk around though as I get out of breath, or too hot, or my pelvis hurts. Generally I end up paying for the trip later. Last time I went further out than the local shops we had to get a taxi home as i did not fancy waddling home with a belly full of food on the tube.

AbFab86 · 21/02/2015 09:30

Ducky - Yep school hols are the same here. We actually get a brilliant summer holiday because it's an international school so everyone goes 'home'. That and it's about 40deg here by then so nobody wants to be here anyway Smile

Cupcake - It's just like normal Alka Seltzer but the XS version has something extra in it that seems to zap migraines. I think it tastes vile but my mum swears by it!

Who has snow where they are today? We're in the middle of a huge sandstorm here so everything is covered in a layer of sand. The cat is sulking because he's not allowed out Smile
