March bus for those of us who drive right on through feb without stopping!

shinysparklythings · 28/01/2015 07:26

Hope nobody minds, Thought I'd start a march bus especially for those people like me who skip feb out due to it being 28 days and having a 32 day cycle, or those already kicked off the feb bus. But all are welcome expecting bfps in March!

Found the jan bus was a great place to be to discuss the madness that is ttc!

So welcome aboard! Grin

Shinysparklythings 29, ttc#1, cycle 2, bfp due 1st march.

night we left because it meant we could jobs in the same city and were fed up of life in the UK! Immigration depends a lot on jobs etc - if you have a job offer you'd usually get a work visa but like many countries they give preference to nz'ers initially. Anything healthcare related there's always jobs going. You can get permanent residency initially but easier to do once here on a work permit - that is based on points for age, qualifications, jobs outside auckland etc (there's a points calculator on immigration website).

NZ is a young country so no old buildings etc which I strangely miss. The 'cities' (I use the term loosely) apart from auckland/ Wellington are similar to a lot of big towns in the UK. Housing in the big cities is v v expensive and mortgage rates are well over 5% at the minute (that is actually low for NZ) but elsewhere is reasonable. Groceries are more expensive than UK and quite seasonal in availability. NZers are very friendly but often have tight friendship groups with people from school/ uni that can be hard to break into. There's lots and lots of expats from all over though (mostly UK, South africa, pacific Islands). The weather is slightly better (especially in the 'winter less north' but unless you have a new house they don't have central heating, double glazing or much in the way of insulation so houses can be cold and damp. The pacific Islands and Australia are 3-4 hour flight away.

We love it here, it's a great place to bring up children, commutes are usually minimal and on the whole probably better quality of life than we'd have in the UK.

Anything specific you want to know?

Sorry I've just completely derailed the thread. Continue the baby dancing, kebab moves and pillow talk!

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 16/02/2015 22:21

Cd 4 boring.
So I'll join the chat about emigrating. Someone I worked with recently went to NZ, a bit easier to get into than Oz. Her DH got a job and the company sorted everything out visa and relocation costs.
I'd say give it a go, nothing to lose.

Riceicle1 · 16/02/2015 22:28

Just popping back in to say hi. It's prime dancing time here and I've been struck down with a uti Sad so frustrating! We are house hunting as well, I'm kind of hoping the old adage new house, new baby will come true!

BabyBumpHopeful · 17/02/2015 03:10

Stopping by to say hi as well. Feeling a tad emotional today which while sucking, is a good sign I'm about to OV.

loopylou1984 · 17/02/2015 06:46

Oh babybump, maybe that's why I was close to tears all morning yesterday?! Xx

loopylou1984 · 17/02/2015 06:47

Rice sorry for the uti, horrible horrible things Hmm
Hope you get rid of it soon, do you have anti biotics? Xx

auroraboringalis · 17/02/2015 06:52

shinysparklythings · 17/02/2015 08:01

Thanks elegant a better quality if life is definitely what we are after although cost will be the big barrier I think. DH has contacted the NZ immigration dept and his job is on the list of ones they really want. Mine isn't though but I am currently in the process of thinking to retrain so will check whether they will want me then. It wi be a few years down the line so plenty if time to get stuff sorted :)

Hope you get better soon rice,UTIs are horrible Flowers

chasingtherainbow · 17/02/2015 08:37

Get better soon rice Flowers

Shiny I'm off. But my week is crammed with seeing in laws and friends I don't usually have enough time to. Do feels hectic! I'm in fertile period now so feeling very distracted all I can think about is getting pregnant dtd.

Which brings me to this: I've just got my solid smiley face on opk. WTF? Cd9.

woodpigeon123 · 17/02/2015 08:43

Hello!

Just got AF (after being 4 days late which I obviously handled in a calm, logical manner, without a single hope being raised....Hmm)

Last month turned out to be a long cycle so now I have no idea when I'm next due so I'll have to guess it!

Stats: woodpigeon123, age 32, TTC #1, Cycle 5, BFP due 18th, 19th or 22nd March (depending on which app I believe!)

woodpigeon123 · 17/02/2015 08:44

Oops, meant to say AF arrival means I'm off the Feb bus so hopefully joining you lovely ladies on the March one!

shinysparklythings · 17/02/2015 09:27

chasing that sounds good. We had the builder yesterday, was supposed to be car mot tomorrow, and the. Was supposed to be doing revision sessions Thurs/fri which have all been cancelled. So now I haven't got any plans. My family are all over 4 hours away and working this week so trying to find stuff to fill my time, that isn't just work.

Welcome wood fx for this month.

Thanks everyone, the anti biotics are starting to kick in this morning, so hopefully this month won't be a complete write off. I hate taking antibiotics but as it's before ov, it should be ok

Amyyy27 · 17/02/2015 11:43

Hi ladies,

Hopping on ready for my BFP in March! (FX!)

We lost our Angel in October, MMC. We are now on Cycle 4 and are TTC 'properly' this month. We were previously 'seeing how it goes' now I'm charting using FF, geeking up on Toni Weschler's Taking Charge Of Your Fertility, and using opks.

Really hoping this is the month. According to FF I'm due to O this Friday coming, however my cycles have been getting slightly shorter since MC and also had a huge temp spike this morning but not relying on it as had a negative opk yesterday evening and also woke up almost every hour since 3am this morning but didn't take temp til usual time of 6.45am. (We still DTD this morning just in case... told my OH it was a must Wink )

So we shall see!! I'm still learning about charting bbt but hoping we can still get pg this month using opks and cm and a bit of luck!

GotTheKey · 17/02/2015 12:48

Best of luck for this cycle Amy x

I have reaches my fertile days ladies. We are on holiday but staying with family for last night and tonight so making it a bit awkward!! Eeeek x

nightandthelight · 17/02/2015 12:51

Welcome to all the new people, will update stats tonight :) had PMT yesterday which I was ludicrously happy about as means the cycle I can finally start trying is almost here! AF due anytime between tomorrow and Sunday :)

Amyyy27 · 17/02/2015 13:08

Thanks ladies, good luck to you both! x

BabyBumpHopeful · 17/02/2015 13:44

No OV today. Day 6 of flashing smiley... sigh.

Well hoping for tomorrow or I'm out of sticks for my kit and need to buy more... (and I'm pretty sure there's none at the chemist close to me and I need to drive 30 mins to the nearest shop that sells them... if they're in stock).

goodenoughmum88 · 17/02/2015 13:53

Can I jump on? Ttc no. 2 after quick instant pregnancy with number 1. (I realise I'm lucky and can't complain but this time round I'm all at sea!). Copper Coil out mid December followed by 3 day light bleed. Horrible period in January, heavy with cramps and clots, and a 1 day light bleed and spotting in February (did two tests to make sure I wasnt preggers, both negative). Have a 24 day cycle so back on the baby making mission now!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 17/02/2015 15:05

[Waves hello to the new passengers]

Well the good news today is that after being given his redundancy notice yesterday, today DH has been offered a new job! So hopefully no need to put baby making on hold :)

We're going on holiday on Friday so hope that now with this good news we can properly relax and just dtd all week for a holiday baby! Off sick with a horrible sore throat this afternoon and lying on the sofa drinking grapefruit juice to help bring on ewcm - does it ever get nice??

Amyyy27 · 17/02/2015 15:19

Hi Heir great news. Good luck with the holiday baby!! x

victoria401 · 17/02/2015 15:48

Hi newbies! Good luck for this month!

I'd not given my stats as not sure of we were gonna bother this month as its too stressful but we prob will, because we have to!

Victoria401, 34, cycle 29 (male factor subfertility) bfp/af due March 16th

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/02/2015 16:33

Afternoon everyone, hope you are all well!

Hi to everyone joining!

Ewcm is here with avengence today, happy days. We dtd last night but have just done a test and it's looking like it's still a neg, so I'm resisting the urge to jump DP until tomorrow, after promising him eod (don't want to burn him out too soon again like last month).

Dp is out for the evening so I'm making pancakes for when he gets home later & planning on having an evening of movies and live Eastenders!!!

I've just had a revelation in the bathroom when I finally realised how to properly check my cervix....it is there after all!!! Wink

nightandthelight · 17/02/2015 16:36

Yay heir :)
