Hello - welcome to wlrg (phone wants to "correct" that to elegant!) and wedding! Fx for all of you for valentines BFPs (or Wine and BFPs very soon after!)

My line is defo positive now - so rang up and DH and I have our very first doctor's appointment on Fri Shock then dinner out Sat (guess I'm driving!)

nightandthelight · 10/02/2015 08:50

How exciting Mrs, you will have to let us know how it goes!

doomkittycleo · 11/02/2015 22:08

Looks like the witch has arrived :-( oh well suppose that means I ovulated. Was very optimistic being first month off the pill.

nightandthelight · 12/02/2015 06:43

Sorry to hear that doom, fx for next month!

MrsH14 · 15/02/2015 20:54

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you all. I'm 27, trying for #1 since September and off the pill since last May. I know it's still early days but I find it getting harder to deal with every month when af shows her ugly face. Keeping fingers crossed for a BFP next week xx

matchstickpopper · 17/02/2015 14:40

25 and ttc first baby. Only just started ttc. Had copper coil in for a year but had it taken out at the beginning of January and as it's non hormonal cycle should be back to normal straight away. Started temping and doing my charts on Fertility friend (anyone else using?!) and I ovulated quite late this month (I think on day 18 of my cycle) so AF could very well be late - I'll have a hard time not testing!!! Already waiting to see if I might have symptoms and I'm only on day 20 Blush

McRem · 17/02/2015 23:19

I'm back again in the tww! Had a very short 26day cycle last month! Dh told me yesterday that he would be a bit gutted if I didn't fall pregnant this month as we've done everything possible this month! Talked him back to reality so he won't be too disappoint if we et bfn. I'm 8dpo now so not too long to wait. Congrats on the the bfps in the post! Here's to some last minute February ones too!! Xxx

Fx McRem and welcome to the newbies. AF due in the next fee days for me which will mean that I am finally on the cycle in which we can start trying. So impatient now! Good luck everyone :)

scatterbrainedlass · 18/02/2015 08:49

tww.... usually get AF between day 25 - 28, currently at day 27 and no sign.... cramps all day yesterday, but no spotting at all, which is really unusual for me. Is this it?

nightandthelight · 18/02/2015 08:54

Fx scattered! Let us know what happens :)

scatterbrainedlass · 22/02/2015 09:08

Well I was kinda sure, but I got a test yesterday and got my BFP this morning!! I am actually amazed it happened so quickly, this was 1st cycle, and I've seen so many posts of 'trying for 9+ months'. I feel a bit guilty!! Here's hoping a bit of luck/fertility rubs off on you girls, good luck :)

Pixieperson · 22/02/2015 10:26

I'm 28 and ttc #1. I came off the pill last May after 9 years, but we only started ttc after our wedding last month. AF is due at some point next week but my cycles are not a regular length (usually between 26-31) so it's difficult to tell. I feel different and have definitely had symptoms that aren't normal pre-AF ones for me (sore boobs, dizziness, metallic taste, crying for no reason). I had a dream last night about testing and it being positive so tested this morning and BFN, although it may still be too early.

Congratulations to all those with BFPs and fx for the rest of us.

scatterbrainedlass · 22/02/2015 11:01

fx pixie, sounds promising!!

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 11:35

Congrats scattered don't feel guilty, it's just the luck of the draw and you have been lucky :) wishing you a very healthy 9 months.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 22/02/2015 11:43

Congratulations Scatter!!

I'm hoping it's an omen that I'm looking to join after that good news :)

I'm 26 and ttc #1, this is cycle 6 so far - started trying the beginning of Sept. I hadn't been on any contraception for years so we haven't changed much, starting to get really anxious and obsessive whenever AF is due. Currently suffering from the dreaded monthly purge and it's getting me down (plus OW!).

I was a bit worried that it hadn't happened yet but I'm glad to see there are others in the same boat, keeping everything except my legs crossed!! Grin

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 11:47

AF has arrived for me so only a week until we can start the dtdathon. I know it's unlikely as the average length of time to conceive is 6 months but it's weird to think that there is a chance that I will be pg in less than a month!

I wouldn't worry yet Modest 6 months is the average so plenty of people over that. I think something like 92% of people conceive within a year so you still have another 6 months before it's worth going to the GP Smile

Modestandatinybitsexy · 22/02/2015 12:01

Yeah, but it's just so frustrating when there's nothing obvious preventing a BFP. I think we're going to have to get regimented with the down and the dirty regime.

Allowing myself a good ol' mope today, DP has brought me a hot water bottle in bed and I'm treating myself to a guilty pleasure marathon. Feeling guilty though because I should be getting creative with a quilt for my expectant baby nephew but I just can't bring myself to. Naughty Blush

AbFab86 · 22/02/2015 12:06

Can I join if I convince myself I'm still mid 20s? Grin

I'm 28, TTC #1 and cycle one will begin next Sunday. I have PCOS and have never had a normal cycle, so I'm not holding my breath.

Congrats to all the BFPs so far! Here's to many more Smile

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 12:06

I can totally understand that Modest. Do you use anything like OPKs? Also have you cut down on thing a like caffeine and alcohol as they can impact on fertility?

Modestandatinybitsexy · 22/02/2015 12:16

Hi AbFab welcome, you definitely still count as a twentysomething. I'm a newby myself and keeping fx for you!

night I'm a tea addict, I cannot keep away from the brown stuff but I've been looking into caffeine free alternatives. There are other things that worry me as well, like my weight, meant to join the gym today but AF reared her ugly head.

OPK's have crossed my mind but I don't know if they would reduce or worsen the obsessive baby thoughts every 28 days. Also I'm worried about the expense, are they a once and dump thing or can you get ones that are reusable?

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 12:19

Doing some exercise would be very good not just in terms of the weight loss but I find it takes my mind off TTC and helps me relax :) I am doing a couch to 10k app which starts you off gently :)

I don't actually use OPKs (am only just starting TTC) I just use the Ovia app. It tells me when my fertile period is and I am going to dtd everyday within it and eod the rest of the time. No need to answer this question but how often do you dtd throughout your cycle?

Modestandatinybitsexy · 22/02/2015 12:36

I use period trackers but I keep breaking my phone and losing all my data! Angry They tend to be helpful when I've built up some info, my cycles can range from 25-32 days so can be a bit of a nightmare - especially when the tww turns into a 3ww!

We dtd pretty much 1-2 times a week, upping this to every 2 days in peaks, maybe more on weekends.

I'm getting married this year as well so weight loss is a goal, just looks into couch to 10k and it actually looks attainable, wishing you luck.

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 12:40

Thanks Modest it is a very good programme :) fx that you get your bfp soon and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

nightandthelight · 22/02/2015 12:41

The NHS advice on dtd is eod throughout your cycle :)

Pixieperson · 22/02/2015 21:04

Thank you scatter, huge congratulations to you on your BFP.

Felt slightly sick all day today, so really hoping for BFP soon, either that or I have some sort of bug. I need to test Wednesday anyway, as I am having surgery on my wrist and they need to know if I am pregnant. The timing couldn't be worse, was told I needed surgery 2dpo, and given a date within 2 weeks for surgery. For the first time ever I had to say yes to the "is there any chance you might be pregnant" question before medical treatment! I got such a look from the nurse.
