Hi Squeakyheart just learning the basics here with posting messages so please bare with me.

Thanks for your welcome. Shame about you having to go on pill for op. I hope all goes well.

Look forward to the next few months hope all works out trying to stay positive!

Heather24 · 26/02/2015 08:17

Hi thisisme

A big warm welcome to you :)

Unfortunately I too have quite long cycles
36 is about the average.
Hopefully the clomid will lengthen them slightly.

How are you this morning bovnydazzler?
How's everyone else getting on..any updates??
I got my smiley face yesterday on my opk so dtd last night.
Ive had a headache since yesterday, could it be due to ovulation? Xx

mistletoeprickles · 26/02/2015 08:58

Hi thisisme Welcome to the thread.

squeaky so your cd4?

heather glad you got your smiley face. In my limited experience yes headaches can be a sign of ovulation.

For me the side effects have hit me quite hard, hot flushes being the worst. DP kept saying to me yesterday evening it was cold and I was happily lay in shorts and t-shirt! I'm definitely suffering from mood swings and as a result seem to have no filter between head and mouth but DP has just kept quiet when I'm ranting.

Its looking like I might not get a scan this month because there is only one lady who does the follicle tracking scans and she on leave until the 2nd of March and my scan will be due 3rd/4th of March. I think ill give opk's a go just incase they do work for me (PCOS)

Bovnydazzler · 26/02/2015 20:05

Evening all,

heather yey for smiley face! I know it's just the same as the Internet cheapies but I love seeing the smile, it's worth the extra money for that! Hope the DTD session goes well!

mistletoe sorry you're getting crap symptoms, crossed fingers it will be worth it.

Well AF came this afternoon so I'm on the wine tonight. I was expecting it but still a bit gutted, just think my chances have greatly diminished after 3 cycles now on clomid. I know there is still a chance but my optimism is waning.

Practical question, my period started late afternoon in medium flow. Should I count that as day 1, or tomorrow as day 1 as that's the first morning? I take clomid from day 2. Thank you!

Squeakyheart · 26/02/2015 20:45

Lovely to see the thread so active

Bovny I count the day I start as one whatever time I come on

Anyone else keep losing track of days or is that just me? I am day 4 but on third day of clomid.

I got my results, progesterone was 42.5 so ov'd just didn't get the swimmers there! Glad I didn't double the dose now so that's good.

Am supposed to be losing weight to help but am eating everything in sight at present anyone else in the same boat

Mistletoe I did read of some opks that are less sensitive therefore less likely to give a false positive, in fact I bought some but never used them as you don't just pee on them you have to use a jar and I am too lazy. You can have them if I still have them!

Another ?? for heather and anyone else that wants one!

MissMonkey · 26/02/2015 20:51

Evening ladies, welcome mistletoeprickles and thisisme, wishing you lots of luck in your journeys and it's great to have a few more of us on here Grin.

bonvy so sorry af got you, lots of wine and chocolate for you. I use the clear blue advanced fertility monitor and when I put the first day of my period in it asks me what time. If I enter my period in the afternoon it counts the next dat as day one but if I do it in the morning it counts that day as day one so possibly don't count day one as tomorrow.

squeaky thanks for that I'm going to speak to my GP about that as there current plan would take me to using Clomid for 9 month and they didn't mention anything about the increased risk after 6 month Confused

heather this is the fun bit of the month for you so relax and enjoy.

I seem to be the same as you mistletoeprickles, Iv had really bad head aches, hot flushes, thrush and massive mood swings.... Oh the things we do to get that BFP. I'm going to discuss scans with my GP but I'm in Nottingham as well so I bet they say I will have to pay for them myself but that is a lot of money for a scan

Xx

mistletoeprickles · 26/02/2015 22:03

bov my consultant said you count day 1 as the day you start bleeding even if its 11pm at night, its still day 1.

I keep getting lost on days too, which is going to cause a get prickle in a few weeks. I've never had a regular cycle so dont know what to expect on clomid. This is why I so desperately wanted a scan this month so I know what was going on inside. But everyone is entitled to a holiday Smile and I'm secretly hoping as it's my first cycle they'll squeeze me in when shes back.

The latest side effects we have to report is insomnia but I'm sooo tired. It'll all be worth it but very tough going.

mistletoeprickles · 28/02/2015 08:02

Morning all

Things have gone a bit strange and hoping someone can help.

So after a course of Provera AF didn't arrive so I had a phone appointment with the consultant who said to go ahead and start the Clomid, I began it on day 102. Just to be clear I checked and double checked that I had heard the consultant right. I finished my 5 tablets yesterday and woke up this morning to AF!
Will the Clomid still work? Will I just ovulate earlier?

I'm so confused

Squeakyheart · 01/03/2015 09:41

Hi mistletoe, no wonder you are confused I have just tried to read up on why it would happen and it's all about hormones and very complicated. from what I have read the clomid takes days to work so it may still promote ovulation despite AF. Hopefully it won't be a full AF and then you can start monitoring for ov, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Am now confused about dates as I finished clomid yesterday and thought I was a day behind you! Should really look at some kind of tracking app as my brain is useless at this

mistletoeprickles · 01/03/2015 14:40

squeaky you are in theory still a day behind me, its just my body has decided to throw it all out the window.
I finally spoke to a doctor yesterday who was great, very helpful. She said that it sounds like the Clomid is doing its job but my silly insides decided to have a bleed. So it looks like I shall ovulate close to the end of period..great!
But and this is a big but, when I conceived my daughter (no medical assistance) it turns out she was conceived 3 days after a period.

I still don't understand but I feel less like we've wasted a cycle

alphabook · 01/03/2015 17:25

Hi all. I'm glad I found this thread as I could also do with some clomid buddies!

I'm just about to start my 3rd round of clomid (AF arrived today). Started on 50mg, increased to 100mg even though I ovulated on 50mg as my progesterone levels were slightly lower than they should have been. I have PCOS so I take inositol and I'm trying to lose weight.

mistletoeprickles · 03/03/2015 10:14

Hi alpha and welcome to the thread. How are you doing on the Clomid? Many side effects?

I spoke to the consultant yesterday about the bleeding, he said that just because I've bleed it doesn't mean I've wasted a month which is quite a relief as we've got 6 months and that's our lot.
I'm off for a follicle tracking scan at the end of the week so fingers crossed it has worked.
Waiting to know if it's work is almost as hard as the two weeks wait

Squeakyheart · 04/03/2015 21:46

Hi alpha,

how are you finding the inositol? I was on metformin last time but it didn't agree with me, probably as I ate too much sugary crap. Am trying to remember if I was still taking it at the time I was taking clomid but it's all a blur now. I am currently trying the 5:2 diet as I have heard it can help with insulin sensitivity and it worked last time I tried it as I lost ten pounds in six weeks which is good for me.

Hi mistletoe glad to hear that it's ok and you are still on track, fingers crossed for good news with the scan

Squeakyheart · 08/03/2015 20:59

It's all gone quite again! Well I have seen signs of ov and have been suitably busy Wink so now on the two week wait countdown.

Hope to catch up with you all soon!

Squeakyheart · 20/03/2015 21:57

Am hoping you have all disappeared to celebrate some good news!

Day 26 today supposed to POAS on Tuesday but came on on day 28 last time so am going to POAS tomorrow! Fingers crossed.

Heather24 · 21/03/2015 07:11

Hi squeakyheart,

Yes I am pregnant again, 3rd month running but everything is going well so far far this time, I have an early scan booked for Thursday at 10am so praying I see a little heartbeat.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow, please let me know xxx

Rechel1 · 21/03/2015 22:29

Hi ladies am new to all of this but I do need your help I have been trying to get pregnant for a long time yet nothing happens. I tried for a year no protection still I dodn get pregnant I took a year break from trying then I started again in October last year. Still nothing so I spoke to me doctor she said because am only 28 I have nothing to worry about . This is my sixth month of trying so I bought clomid from America since my doctor won't give it to me . Am confuse and am not sure where to go from here and I have use ovulation kit and yes they were positive before I started clomid and also this month when I did. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you

Squeakyheart · 21/03/2015 22:54

Oh congrats heather will keep fingers crossed everything is ok on Thursday let us know how you get on!

I am out this month test was BFN so am drowning my sorrows in wine and chocolate!

Rechel, I don't know much about opks but if they were saying you were ovulating are you sure taking clomid is the best thing? Ask your doctor for a 21 day progesterone test to double check if you are ovulating first. Also please read up on the side effects of clomid as some are severe, including increased risk of ovarian cancer.

I know it's frustrating when nothing happens, I was eighteen months trying before I was prescribed clomid and I was in my late thirties.

Rechel1 · 22/03/2015 09:36

Hi squeakyheart thank you replying to I would get an appointment and one of those test and keep you updated. Please don't be sorrowful you have been strongly all this while so keep the good fight going your a winner . And prepare for your come back. And thank you again

Heather24 · 26/03/2015 09:01

Eeek 6 week scan today at 10, I'm sooo nervous :(
How is everyone else getting on ?
There only seems to be 3 of us left now xx

MaMaPo · 26/03/2015 09:37

Hi all, I'm dropping in to boost the numbers. Grin

Like thisisme I've been prescribed Clomid for short cycles. I ovulate ok but cycles are 22-24 days. Everything else is normal and we conceived our daughter in two cycles. We've been trying now for nearly a year.

AF is due tomorrow or Saturday, so we'll start Clomid 50mg on cd5-9. I will have day 21 bloods done to see whether the dosage needs to change. The overall plan is 3 months on Clomid, a lap and dye, then another 3 months of Clomid before referral for IVF.

So, hello! Congratulations and good luck to Heather! Smile

mistletoeprickles · 26/03/2015 11:06

Hey all I'm still here

Congratulations heather Flowers

rachel please be careful taking a drug that you haven't been prescribed. Clomid can have some terrible side effects and should be monitored very closely.

squeaky sorry about BFN

mama hello. Seems like you have a good plan in place but fingers crosses you wont need the ivf.

Soooo I went for a scan which showed not a lot so went back a week later (around the 10th I think) which showed no dominant follicle which I knew but was strange is my womb lining had gone from 3mm to 7.3mm in 6 days.
With that in mind I'm desperately hoping for a natural period to start the next clomid cycle on. I've got until the 4th of April for that to happen otherwise its on to a higher dose of provera to get a bleed and then uping the dose of clomid to 100mg for cycle 2.
This last few weeks has been very busy so I haven't had much time to think about it all which I'm pleased with because obsessing has been doing me no favours

Squeakyheart · 29/03/2015 13:52

Hey heather hope things went ok on Thursday.

Welcome mama, I take clomid day 2-6 but have a normal length cycle.

Rechel thank you for your positive comments

Nice to see you back mistletoe hoping for a normal cycle for you. I am going to be busy next few weeks so hope that will keep my mind of it all, have just finished cycle three so will wait and see and if no luck back to consultant.

Rechel1 · 29/03/2015 15:18

Thanks guys I am going for a scan to check if there is any blockage also the doctor has prescribed clomid but I had to tell him I started on already luckily I'm on the right track . Congratulations heather amazing news. To everyone else do have a wonderful Easter holiday .

Heather24 · 29/03/2015 16:57

Hi everyone,

I went on Thursday and everything was ok and in the right place, they put me at between 5-6 weeks so too early to see a heartbeat, so I have to go back this Thursday. Fingers crossed x
When's your scan Rachel? Xx
