My title pretty much sums me up....anyone else in the throws of ttc on clomid?

Bovnydazzler · 19/01/2015 06:57

Hi heather, :) for positive OPK. I'd Defo go for it regarding lunch time session.

I'm 8dpo and very tempted to POAS tomorrow (impatient...). Last month clomid caused me to feel really nauseous with sore breasts In the run up to AF, so I think I'd take no symptoms as a good sign weirdly.

Anyone else testing soon?

Heather24 · 19/01/2015 07:33

Hi bovnydazzler

I'm the same v impatient! I got my BFP with 3 of my previous pregnancies at 10 dpo, so deffo worth poas. Let us know fingersx

Mylittlesandme5 · 21/01/2015 11:22

Bfn this morning 9dpo. Couldn't help myself. I think I might wait until Monday and see what happens.

Heather24 · 21/01/2015 12:23

Ah I'm sorry to hear that, fingers crossed it was just a later implantation xx

Bovnydazzler · 21/01/2015 13:07

mylittle sorry for the BFN, fellow impatient one! I got really down about yesterday's BFN and don't think I can cope with more white lines so going to wait till Saturday too when AF is due (assuming 12 day luteal phase like last month).

Heather24 · 21/01/2015 15:11

Oh no don't let it get you down bovnydazzler, it will happen.
What is everyone's age and occupation? Thought it'd be nice to get to know you all a little better seeing as we're all in the stupid 2ww :( xx
Oh lol...I'm 34 and a midwife xx

Nomio230 · 21/01/2015 15:21

Hi all, I am feeling really down today, as af has arrived.

I really thought we might get lucky this month. We dtd every day over my fertile period, I used conceive+, stuck my legs in the air after, even used softcups to keep the tadpoles where they should be, but it still hasn't worked.

I honestly don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. Every month I get my hopes up & every month they are destroyed.

I thought that once I got Clomid & started to ovulate, it would all magically fall into place, but this was round three & still nothing.

Sorry for being so depressing, but I just needed to vent!

Heather24 · 21/01/2015 15:38

Hi nomio
I'm so sorry, it's such a difficult time when it doesn't work.
Focus on next month and don't give up, have you tried using the clearblue fertility monitor? Ive just picked one up off eBay so if nothing happens this month I'm ready to attack next month with avengeance!

Hugs xx

scienceteachergeek · 21/01/2015 17:48

Hi there guys

I'll be joining you all on Clomid after my follow up appointment since having the trans-vaginal scan and the devil that was the HSG. It hurt so much that I passed out!

It's very comforting to hear all your stories. How do you all stop yourself becoming sex-driven maniacs every month? I was bad enough when I thought I had normal cycles. Now I know that I don't ovulate and will be getting 6 goes at Clomid I dread to think how obsessed I'm going to get! Any tips?

Good luck to you all xxx

Mylittlesandme5 · 21/01/2015 17:58

Sorry Nomio!! Keep venting....we are all in the same boat.

I got pregnant on my first round with my son and then when I got a bfn on my fifth round TTC my daughter I totally lost heart and decided to take a month off. I didn't think about ttc at all, i didn't pay any attention to cd's and hubby and I had sex twice, very far apart.....I fell pregnant. Unreal.

Heather I am 28 and a SAHM. I finished an access course last year and plan for uni once I can pop our third baby out and get her/him up a bit and then I would love to do cardiology. I was about to start when I found out I was pregnant with my son, so holding on to my dreams.

Bovnydazzler · 21/01/2015 19:27

nomio so sorry that AF has come, it's such a crushing blow, especially on the clomid. Have you got an appointment with your gynocologist coming up? We're here with you, hope cycle 4 is the one.

I am planning to add EPO into the equation next cycle (assuming AF comes) as I think clomid has caused a dryness problem for me. No idea how to take it, if anyone knows let me know!

heather a midwife! That must be difficult sometimes I'm sure. I am getting very frustrating with preggers work colleagues complaining about not drinking etc, the green eyed monster in me keeps coming out (but I try and keep it to myself!)

scienceteacher yes, it's hard to not obsess on clomid. However for me I love having a shorter cycle so I don't have to keep up DTD for 4 weeks just in case. The 2ww is just as long though!

Nomio230 · 21/01/2015 20:32

Hi everyone, thanks for all the good wishes. I am just going to keep going & hope for the best.

I am not being monitored at all. I have been using opk's which gave me smiley faces, but have since found out that you can get an LH surge but still not drop an egg. I am going to start temping next month, so should know for sure.

Can I ask what days you all take Clomid on? I have been taking mine on days 2-6 as prescribed & think I have been ovulating on day 14 of a 26 day cycle. I am wondering about trying different days just to see if it brings me better luck.

I have read that you are more likely to get pregnant if you take it earlier, but that the eggs are more likely to be stronger & healthier if you take it later in your cycle, so am a bit confused.

Nomio230 · 21/01/2015 20:34

Mylittle, I did an access course too & am now in my last semester at uni. I am sure you will get there when the time is right.

Heather24 · 23/01/2015 22:46

Hiya scienceteachergeek

Welcome, I'm interested to hear more about your HSG procedure as I'm having one next cycle of I don get a BFP this one.
I hadn't idea it's so uncomfortable :(

How is everyone else doing? X

scienceteachergeek · 24/01/2015 14:21

Hi Heather
People really seem to vary on their experiences of an HSG. Mine was really rather painful. It starts off like a smear test but then they have to put a catheter through your cervix, inflate a small balloon up there, squirt some radioactive gel by your two ovaries and continually xray you as they watch the fluid travel through the fallopian tubes and into your uterus. The pain began like period pain but got more intense. The painful bit only lasts 5mins but the adrenaline running through my system made me look like I was having an epileptic fit after they'd finished!

As the tube is small and the balloon is nothing like the size of a baby's head I suggest we (hopefully!) have a lot worse to come Smile It's all worth it after all Smile

Bovnydazzler · 24/01/2015 15:28

Hi Heather like scienceteacher said I think it depends from person to person. Mine was fine really, a bit awkward with 3 medical people in room (radiographer, doctor and nurse) but for me, about 20 seconds of mild/moderate period pain and that was it. I had no pain afterwards. My tubes did fill up straight away with dye, I think it can be more uncomfortable if it takes longer or if there is some blockage. I went straight back to work after the op. Hope it goes okay.

I'm just awaiting AF to come today/tomorrow after a BFN yesterday.

Heather24 · 24/01/2015 16:44

Ah I'm sorry to hear that bovnydazzler and thank you both for sharing your HSG experience. May I ask if either of you have children at all? I'm just wondering if it may make a difference if you already have children ( as I do)

How's everyone else getting on ? Xx

scienceteachergeek · 24/01/2015 23:10

No, I don't have any. I'm sure you're will be a breeze...nothing thicker than sperm or a period had been in or out of my cervix before Tuesday!

Bovnydazzler · 25/01/2015 07:51

Yes I've got a DS already. HSG wasn't at all as bad as I'd feared for me.
