Heather24 · 09/02/2015 23:09

Hi squeakyheart

My results on Sunday were 201!!! Yaay I'm so excited but still very nervous. Ive got to have my hcg repeated on fri morning to hopefully try and determine how many weeks I am as I didn't have a period between my miscarriage last month and getting pregnant again. I really hope fri the levels have risen again.

It's so horrible when your waiting to poas Im here to keep you company in your wait.
I'd love to know how everyone else is an where they've gone :(

Keep me posted squeakyheart xx

Heather24 · 09/02/2015 23:12

Hi missmonkey,

Sorry to hear you were upset yesterday, it's such an emotional roller coaster. Is your brothers girlfriend ok?

Fingers crossed you get a BFP this month, not long to wait now xx

Squeakyheart · 11/02/2015 21:04

Hiya

Miss monkey - hope your brothers girlfriend is ok, heather is right it is a roller coaster of emotions! You have my sympathy with the thrush I avoid antibiotics like the plague because of it. what cycle are you on?

Heather - congrats with your results! Let us know how you get on on Friday.

Three days po and trying not to obsess over anything that could be a symptom [sad in a pathetic way]

MissMonkey · 16/02/2015 20:52

Evening ladies,

So af got me Friday, iv just started cycle 3 at 50mg, then iv got a prescription for 100mg next. I was very tempted to do 100mg now rather than the last 50mg cycle. My brothers gf is ok and nothing to worry about apparently.

Heather that's great news a massive congratulations

squeaky have you resisted poas? It's not sad to symptom spot, I think that's what we all do.

Where has everybody gone?

Heather24 · 17/02/2015 07:58

Hi missmonkey im still here! Think we're all that's left lol
Sorry to hear af got you, fingers crossed for next month.

Friday my hcg bloods were 9 from 201 I have had no pain or bleeding.
So looks like a repeat of last month.

I saw the consultant yesterday and he said he thinks there's some pregnancy tissue still left which is what keeps causing a rising and falling hcg..he called it a trophoblast??!
Anyway I have to abstain from dtd untill I have had a period and then book in for another HSG.
Ive got to have hcg bloods done again on Thursday and if it's 0 then all is good and if it's raised I've got to have a D&C

I'd rather just have a D&C now and then get on with trying again.

To have been trying for 16 months to then have 2 months of having a positive pregnancy test to then be told it's left over tissue and to stop trying till I've had my next period is not ideal.. Not a happy bunny.

Ive never wanted Af to turn up so much :(

It's a shame everyone's disappeared would be lovely Tom is how your all getting on xx

Heather24 · 17/02/2015 07:59

Squeakyheart any news? Hope your ok x

MissMonkey · 17/02/2015 21:32

Arrrr heather that's awful news, I'm so sorry. You must be devastated, to spend so long trying and have your hopes built up and smashed back down, not once but twice, must be so difficult for you and your oh. Sending lots of love your way. What is a D&C? Did they not scan you when you had your first mc to ensure that it had all come away?

Xx

Squeakyheart · 18/02/2015 10:45

Hi

heather so sorry to hear that, thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed for your AF too, which feels odd to write! Hope your DP is supporting you with hugs. I hope that everything is ok on Thursday and that you can avoid the d & c and then start afresh.

and miss monkey sorry af got you, I know how tempted you must be to try 100mg. Have they done 21 day progesterone to see if it's working?

I had my 21 day prog test on Monday which was actually day 22 but can't get blood tests on Sunday! Am supposed to call consultants sec to see if it worked and get a prescription for 100mg for next time. Only I have really mixed feelings as knowing it didn't work takes away the hope earlier, but then I need to get the right prescription for next time if it didn't. I need to just man up and make the call don't I?

Nomio230 · 18/02/2015 19:49

Hi all,

I have had a hectic few weeks. We have just moved house, which was horrible & took forever. The worst part is that we are just renting for 6 months while we look for a place to buy, so have to do it all again then!

Heather, I am so, so sorry to hear your sad news. I can't imagine how upset you must feel. I really hope you get some good news soon. Flowers

I didn't ov until day 19 this cycle. I really didn't think I had ov'd, as I didn't get a positive opk, but I have started temping & according to the wise women on the Feb bus, I definitely did. I also had thrush this month after not having had it for years. I thought it was the stress of moving, but am now wondering if it is down to Clomid.

I am now 8dpo & stupidly poas earlier. Bfn. I feel like I am about to come on, so think this cycle is pretty much over. I have 2 lots of Clomid left, but am tempted to just double dose next month. I would give anything to see those two lines.

MissMonkey · 18/02/2015 21:20

Hi ladies,

No they havnt done my bloods yet squeaky. If I'm honest I feel like I'm being fobbed of by them at the minute, they said its 'unexplained' and that's why they put me on Clomid. They said do 3 month at 50mg and then 6 at 100mg. If there is no positive news by the end of that they referring me for IVF. I will have to pay for IVF as oh already has a child so would rather they tested me to see if Clomid is doing what it is supposed to, rather than assuming it is and then jumping to the big guns. How are you finding temping? I think I might give it a go next month it's probably the only trick iv read that I haven't yet tried how many cycles you tried at 50mg? Defo man up so you can get the script if 50 isn't working for you.

I would say to stay positive nomio it's still very early so you may just of poas too early. Hopefully you not need to double your dose next month as you not need it. What. Does your consultant want you to do after the two cycles you've got left?

Xx

Nomio230 · 18/02/2015 21:58

missmonkey we have been referred for IVF. We sent all our forms back last week and are now waiting to hear back.

I think you should definitely go see your Dr & ask for a day 21 blood test to confirm that the Clomid is working. There is no point in them upping the dose if the 50mg is working for you.

I really think we should be monitored more closely on Clomid. I was basically given a prescription & left on my own, but I know some people have regular scans and blood tests to make sure everything is ok. It seems to depend where you live.

MissMonkey · 18/02/2015 22:32

I agree nomio we should be monitored more, But your probably right it is down to the postcode lottery. I think if at the end of the 6 month of 100mg there is no positive I'm going to go private anyway and pay for all the tests as, if im honest, they haven't done very much at my nhs clinic and like you say give you a prescription and then your left to it. I would like to have a scan like others just to see that's it's making a difference...never mind I'll sort it lol.

Fingers x that you not need to do IVF and the Clomid does the trick

Bovnydazzler · 23/02/2015 07:09

Hi all,

Sorry for radio silence this month, I banned myself from forums this cycle as I didn't think it was helping me get less obsessed.

heather I'm so sorry you've gone through all this, what a roller coaster of emotions. hope you are not too down and can look to future (successful) cycles.

missmonkey sorry for Feb AF, good luck for the upcoming DTD session.

nomio how's things? I saw your 8dpo BFN last week, presume if AF was going to come she would have by now?

I've just tested at 11dpo and BFN on third cycle. Pretty gutted. Feel after 3 cycles and not successful it's an increased chance there is something wrong other than just bad luck each cycle. We couldn't do more in terms of DTD, so not sure what else to do apart from carry on with what we're doing.

Saw the Gyno again (a locum this time). Didn't particularly warm to him, he gave another 3 months supply but didn't seem to know anything about lack of CM that I told him about and just said it was probably stress.

It's a quiet board at the moment but look forward to hearing how everyone's doing.

Squeakyheart · 23/02/2015 20:38

Hi all glad to see you back!

Well AF got me today Sad and I can't get my results to see if I ovd and didn't catch or didn't ov. Hopefully will find out tomorrow so can double if I need to. Keep telling myself that it worked second time round for DD.

I don't temp or opk as I was told opks don't work if you have PCOS and I am not a morning person so struggled to temp before, last time we just used to DTD every two days or so but DD and tiredness makes it harder!

Also last time I had a massage on the fourteenth day so will be doing that again this time!

I also think they should check it's working especially as it's a limited treatment so why risk wasting cycles?

Apparently if clomid works you have an 80% chance of getting pregnant!

Has anyone tried cough syrup for cm?

mistletoeprickles · 24/02/2015 08:43

Morning all

Can I join you? I started my first cycle of clomid yesterday, well yesterday night as I'd read side effects can be less if taken at night.

I have PCOS so have a lack of ovulation and periods. I also have a DD from a previous relationship (she was a surprise baby).

Our NHS does provide a monthly scan and a blood test.

I'm a bit scared but also very hopeful

Heather24 · 24/02/2015 13:40

Hi everyone,

Welcome mistletoeprickles, of course you can join us, the more the merrier on this emotional and somewhat stressful journey! Fingers crossed Clomid works for you this cycle, what area are you from?

Nomio how are you? Any news?

bovnydazzler it's lovely to see you back. Do you feel better for having some time away?

How are things with you miss monkey?

Squeakyheart have you got your day 21 results back yet??

Well I do t know where the hell I am in my cycle following the miscarriages or what's happening. They told us to abstain for a month and wait till I got Af and then book in for an HSG (3rd time lucky) but to be honest my husband and I can't bear the thought of not trying in case this would have been our month. I did an opk yesterday which was neg, but during my night shift at work last night I got really bad af type cramps since then have had lots of ewcm! Ive not done an opk yet today but am planning on doing one this afternoon so fingers crossed!

It's so lovely everyone's back on the thread xx

Squeakyheart · 24/02/2015 14:40

Hi mistletoe welcome! Fingers crossed for you too

heather - I had to have HSG before they would prescribe clomid but I guess that it all depends on blood tests etc.

Still waiting for the Drs sec to get back to me with results, hopefully today as I need to restart clomid today and want to know whether to double it or not

mistletoeprickles · 24/02/2015 14:57

heather I've reading your posts, gosh just a heart breaking time. I hope you get a sticky one soon.

I'm amazed how little monitoring everyone is getting especially with the chance of multiple pregnancy's increasing.
I guess area does play are part in it.

Heather24 · 24/02/2015 15:57

How annoying for you squeakyheart, it's horrible waiting! Can't you just ring again and explain that you need to amend your medication today based on the results?

Thanks mistletoeprickles, it's been very frustrating to say the least. Ive not long done an opk and the line is much darker than yesterday but still no smiley face so Id say ov is definitely getting closer..... Just so nervous.
Monitoring with Clomid does seem very subjective to what are you are in, I live in Nottingham and under the fertlity clinic at QMC, and although I have a clomid prescription if I chose to have monitoring and scans it would cost £240 per cycle and I can't afford that, so hence why I'm not getting monitored. I already have 4 children so twins would be a huge shock but it would also be a lovely gift especially if I got another longed for baby girl. I'd sooner have twins than fork out a huge amount of money each month that is needed elsewhere xx

mistletoeprickles · 24/02/2015 16:34

Lets hope that peak is soon.
I cant use opks because of PCOS, they'd just be unreliable.

I'm in the Midlands, ill be having a scan around day 10/11 and a blood test on day 21 although that will be a Saturday. So I'm unsure when that will happen.

As for twins, It would be a shock and would change things financially but once we'd got in the swing of things all would be fine. Poor DP would have the shock of his life though as we're ttc his first Grin

Bovnydazzler · 25/02/2015 07:23

Morning!

heather I would so make the same decision as you, I wouldn't be able to wait a month out just in case either. Crossed fingers you may be really fertile at the moment, good luck with the OPK.

squeekyheart I have a feeling clomid is giving me hostile cervical mucus so I took cough syrup last month (it actually coincided with having a bad cough so didn't feel to weird!). I just got the supermarket own brand as it was the only one to have just the one key active ingredient (guifenelene or something like that). I also took EPO and drank grapefruit juice. Don't think they seemed to work but ill try again this month.

Not sure how I feel on twins either, I don't mind the idea of having twins but a high risk pregnancy makes me nervous!

I'm expecting AF to come today/tomorrow after Monday's BFN. Don't think I'll be too gutted again when it comes, I've already accepted its a BFN. It has actually helped trying to not obsess last month, it's hard but I'm trying to remind myself that if I look back in 5 years time, with or without a second child, my biggest regret would be if I wasted years of my DS's life stressing about TTC. Easier said than done though!

Thisisme77 · 25/02/2015 21:13

Hi all

My first post on mumsnet! Looking for some feedback please. Going to start clomid on next cycle. Hubby had a semen analysis and has come back all good and above average count. I have a 23 day cycle and wont to know if anyone else out there has a short cycle and is using Clomid.

Any feedback would be great feeling apprehensive but hopeful x

Bovnydazzler · 25/02/2015 21:38

Hi thisisme and welcome to mums net! Honoured you've chosen our thread for your 1st post :)

I've got long irregular cycles rather than short. Do you know if you ovulate on your cycles? Do you know your luteal phase (days between pvulation and next period?). Does the doc think clomid will lengthen your cycle? Good luck!

I have pre AF cramps so just awaiting her unwanted appearance tomorrow. I think the wine will be calling tomorrow eve!

Thisisme77 · 25/02/2015 22:14

Hi Bovnydazzler thankyou for my welcome! I'm using my mobile to post comments so excuse my lack of emphasis etc. Ive not been ovulating used opk and one line for months had bloods for 3 months each test day 21 showed progesterone under 20ng so going on clomid 50mg on next cycle. But worried about cycle being short and messing up my ttc chances. Have ds 3 yrs old so know i can conceive. Never thought it would be this hard have been trying for a year now. How you doing with your ttc are you being strong and keeping positive.

Squeakyheart · 25/02/2015 22:18

Hi this is me welcome!

I have 28 day cycles which were missing for nine months after coming off the pill but started straight away after DD despite BF, go figure. Had to go on pill for a few months whilst awaiting an op so missed that mythical highly fertile period post pregnancy

bovny I hope you get your wine tomorrow, and chocolate! I will be trying the cough syrup as I took it last time for a cough too!

heather how much! I can see why you are just going for it, I keep threatening DH with twin girls so he can have a house full of women to nag him Smile I dont think he cares as long as they still play rugby.

nomio I hope you are all settled in, any word on the IVF?

miss monkey my doc says maximum six cycles of clomid due to risk of ovarian cancer, doesn't say anything about doses so am wishing I had doubled but didn't as no word from the doc and I couldnt get through.

mistletoe I am a day behind you so we can keep track together.

It's great being able to talk to people who understand what's going on and won't raise an eyebrow when I start muttering about egg white and cough syrup!
