Well as the title says :) I've chosen the worst time to get my act together and start my diet (again!!) I'm well overweight, in fact in classed as obese so I need to lose a tonne of weight. I know I need to be a healthy weight to conceive so there isn't much more of a motivator than the hope if a BFP :) I'm just counting calories until Christmas Eve (when we have our traditional Xmas eve meal of good old McDonalds!) and then back on track on the 27th when I will be returning to Slimming World.
If anyone fancies joining me, or even just to give me a kick up the arse, feel free :)

Meal planning is win win. You don't buy junk, you know exactly what you are having so no pointless snacking whilst you decide, and your shop is cheaper!

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2014 07:38

Mine is as follows:
Tonight is pork meatballs, roasted veg sauce and pasta
Tuesday we are eating at the in laws, so I will make good choices
Wednesday is chicken Kiev and jacket potato
Thursday is salmon fishcakes
Friday is stroganoff
Saturday is sweet and sour chicken
Sunday is beef and black bean chilli.

All sw recipes with Max of 4 syns (dh loves kievs)

Sounds good honey I need to meal plan too. Weighed myself yesterday worse than I thought but feeling positive that I will lose it.

I was hoping not to track to start with and just try cutting down and regular exercise.

I got given a nutribullet for christmas so looking at recipes containing mostly veg as I know fruit can be calorific.

Was also thinking of purchasing a weighted hula hoop, heard they give a good waist workout but never tried one before don't know if any of you ladies have?

I may start officially tomorrow. Going to a party tonight so no chance but then I shall have no excuses.

jellypi3 · 29/12/2014 09:41

Meal plans are great, we never stick to them but will make more of an effort to this year.

Also going to start running Wednesday. Doing the C25K. Need to actually get my arse in to gear and do it!

Pixa · 29/12/2014 09:54

I would love to join too please! Been TTCing since our wedding night in September. I started dating DH as a size 8, gradually moved up to a size 10/12 and after moving in with him I am a solid 12/14. I hate it.

I would love to leave a healthier lifestyle. He is also considering trying to define more muscle as a resolution (he wants Giroud Abs), he currently goes to the gym four/five times a week. I can't be the wobbly wife with a very sculpted husband! If he does go for it, I will have huge moral support at home.

We were recently given a slow cooker and a food processor for Christmas and I have seen so many lovely healthy recipes, we have the Breville halo Fryer too!

I plan to start the 30DS, although rather than 30 solid days, I will have rest days when husband is having his rest day! Can't wait to follow your journeys!

itssangriaoclock · 29/12/2014 15:57

Pixa sounds exactly like me and dh, I hate weighing more than him or being bigger. In my mind it should be the other way round.

I've started making my healthier choices today and cooking from scratch.

What are C25k and 30ds

Pixa · 29/12/2014 16:07

sangria C25k is the couch to 5k running plan, 30ds is the 30 Day Shred and I love it.

DH definitely makes a lot more effort with his health and appearance than I do. He has a lot more willpower too - gave up smoking one year, after 15 years of smoking, as an off the cuff New Years Resolution. I feel so motivated by him.

We have to cook a lot from scratch because he is a pescetarian, and he doesn't like most vegetables. It's just striking the right balance in terms of what we eat! (And how much of it!)

We have so much rubbish food still from Christmas, I don't want it hanging over us.

MindfulBear · 29/12/2014 16:24

evening guys!
may i join in please? I did the 5:2 late 2013/ early 2014 and lost about 5kgs but then I moved country and job and slowly the weight has crept back on again.... We are going to TTC in 2015. We already have a DS but I had PE at the end of pregnancy and as weight is the only variable that I have control over I thought I Should at least try to get my BMI down within the healthy range.

so, I am going back to the 5:2 diet as I find it the easiest to follow AND I am going to start going to the gym, or at least doing some activity every day. (I do have that shred DVD but find it slightly scary!!)

Weight today: 81kgs (was hovering around 79kgs up until Christmas) so my bmi is >30 which is obese.

My Aim is to get into the healthy BMI range and therefore to 65kgs in 2015, ie approx 15kgs loss on usual weight.
1st objective: 78kgs -3 from today - by end Jan
2nd objective: 72kgs -6 from 1st - by Easter.
3rd: 69kgs -3 from 2nd - by July
4th: 65kgs -4 from 3rd - by December 2015.

Short term aim is to not put anything on between now and 11th January!! (not only do we have new year's eve but we have friends staying and it is the summer holiday here so we will be going away! DS nursery only starts back on 14th January so I am having a long break.... more time to be close to the vino and cheese!!)

honeysucklejasmine · 30/12/2014 08:00

Hi Jelly! Welcome Pixa and Mindful. Grin

I did the first day of healthy ish eating yesterday. The hot chocolate and the apple crumble prob weren't great, but small steps! Going to be entirely on plan today I hope, but eating out with in laws so not sure what's for dinner! And then from Wednesday, its plan 100%!

Weighed myself yesterday so all ready to go. Smile

jellypi3 · 30/12/2014 09:21

Honey :) We can do this together lass! Wink

itssangriaoclock · 30/12/2014 09:51

We are all the same boat honey. We can do this together. Need to buy sone scales although I did weigh myself Christmas Day at the inlaws so do have a baseline.

booboobeedoo11 · 30/12/2014 13:04

Hey Ladies...would love to join in here. I'm 31, came off the pill in July, been dieting all of my adult life but always been a bit on the chunky side! Weight has ranged from 10st-14st! Only time i've really lost is when i'm not trying! I intend to have another few days of eating what i like as we've still got a few plans with family and friends. 5th Jan is my all hands on deck date for dieting and ttc. AF or BFP due around the 10th jan. Let's do this!

21questions · 30/12/2014 17:55

I'm ready to get started tomorrow. Been out for lunch with dd and we are just making cakes then that's it! I'm going hardcore!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2014 08:14

Welcome Boo.

So today it starts! In a while i am going to get out of bed then go to the shops and get some baked beans. Full English, SW style, this morning!

Bit cold just now though. ;-) .

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2014 16:52

I stepped on the scales today and they've gone down already! Probably Because of time of day etc but I am going to take it as a win and encouragement anyway! Grin Just won't expect it to go down too much more at the end of the week. Smile

21questions · 31/12/2014 17:27

That's good then honey! I have put mine in a drawer to attempt to stop myself from standing on them every five minutes.

Today has gone well so far hope I can avoid the snacking later Confused

How's everyone else getting on?

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2014 18:48

Of course you can! Peppermint tea is my go to when I'm trying to avoid eating. Smile

Beanbag41 · 31/12/2014 19:31

Hi, can I join? I'm new to mumsnet. We're going to ttc #3 in May and would love to lose at least 2 stone my BMI is 31 at the mo. I'd LOVE to avoid all the comments and extra tests from drs and midwives this time round. 0lbs as of tomorrow :) I know sugar is my down fall! Good luck beautiful ladies!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2014 19:47

Welcome Bean! Good luck to you, we have strength in numbers. Smile

MindfulBear · 01/01/2015 07:59

Good morning and happy new year!! May 2015 be full of happiness, fun, prosperity, good health and many successes in everything we all choose to do - #1 & #2 on the list - TTC & losing weight!

Lisbethel · 01/01/2015 08:34

Happy New year ladies! May I join you please? This sounds like the perfect thread for me. I came off the pill in July but AF hasn't returned - I have PCOS and I'm sure getting my BMI down will help as I am almost at 27 at the moment. I keep sabotaging myself by giving into my sweet tooth. I am going to try to go low GL.
Day 1 starts today- off to weigh myself now for the first time since Christmas :/...
I echo Mindful's wishes- may 2015 be filled with weight loss and BFPs for everyone!

Orangeisthenewbanana · 01/01/2015 09:51

Happy New Year everybody! Feeling positive and motivated to shift this weight and get upduffed in 2015 Smile. We can do this!!

Weighed this morning and entered into mfp. Having a lazy start then going to take DD to the park so I can run around after her for a bit!

CoffeeTwo · 01/01/2015 09:54

Happy New Year ladies :)

I've got my first Slimming World class on Saturday but dreading stepping on the scales. I'm looking forward to focusing on this though, I can't control when I get pregnant but I can control my weight and being healthier will only help!

21questions · 01/01/2015 10:49

Happy new year everyone lets hope we all achieve what we set out to this year. 2015 shall be our year Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 01/01/2015 11:00
