Well as the title says :) I've chosen the worst time to get my act together and start my diet (again!!) I'm well overweight, in fact in classed as obese so I need to lose a tonne of weight. I know I need to be a healthy weight to conceive so there isn't much more of a motivator than the hope if a BFP :) I'm just counting calories until Christmas Eve (when we have our traditional Xmas eve meal of good old McDonalds!) and then back on track on the 27th when I will be returning to Slimming World.
If anyone fancies joining me, or even just to give me a kick up the arse, feel free :)

Congratulations dojo that's great news Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 01/02/2015 18:31

Congratulations Dojo! You're right about 5:2, but you could do slimming world if you'd like. Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 01/02/2015 18:35

Ain! Is DH fine now, for sure? Urgent care! Poor bloke. Sad

I weighed this morning, -14.5 now. Grin

MindfulBear · 01/02/2015 21:54

woohoo! -4kgs since Christmas! marvelous :)

shame DH has been away for 3 weeks and no end to this trip in sight. Slightly fed up with this overseas assignment tbh (I am the one on the assignment and DH was supposed to follow within a few months but the best laid plans seem to have gone awry). Its now getting in the way of expanding my family and I am not getting any younger.....

anyway on a slightly chippier note you will all be overjoyed to know I managed 12 trips to the gym in January and only one of them was a "juice only trip"!! (Here if I go 12 times a month I get a 60% rebate the following month. 7 times is a 40% rebate but anything less I get Nil points. The rebate certainly does add alittle more encouragement on top of the desire to lose weight and get fitter!)

The trampoline I told 2 1/2 yo DS was my bday gift and he insists was his Christmas gift is also A great fun way to get some extra exercise into my day, whilst working on those pelvic floor muscles!!!!

TakesTwoToTango · 02/02/2015 09:24

Well done honey, mindful and others on the losses!! I think I've said congrats to dojo on the Feb bus but congrats again!!

No SW for me tonight, I have to go shopping and won't have time! Still, plan is to deffo go next Tuesday! I'll just try to be good in the meantime (had low fat yoghurt and peaches for breakfast!)

TakesTwoToTango · 03/02/2015 10:19

Yummy breakfast jelly! Muesli here and tea. Drowning my bfn sorrows Sad

dojo123 · 03/02/2015 10:49

Morning.

I am sorry to say that I had some spotting this morning so it looks like I have experienced a CP. Really disappointed but it is only our first cycle and we thought it could take longer.
Will still be going to see the doc tomorrow to go through things.
Feeling rather deflated.

honeysucklejasmine · 03/02/2015 12:19

Dojo don't panic. I had a mc and it was more than spotting all the blood in the world . I hope yours doesn't develop and its a bit of harmless spotting. Sad

Takes, what are you doing?! How are you losing so much so quickly? Envy

TakesTwoToTango · 03/02/2015 14:12

honey Grin being really "good" with food - three (mostly cooked from scratch) meals a day, no snacks most days, very little sugar, loads and loads of veg, lower fat choices (not artificially low fat but choosing things that are naturally low fat), very little alcohol (helps with the TTC too!) and exercise 6 days a week plus walking wherever/whenever I can.

Eg breakfast this morning was oats with natural yoghurt and fruit, lunch a tuna sandwhich with avocado and tomato on wholemeal bread, dinner will be homemade spag Bol with 5% mince, loads of veg, no cheese and whole grain pasta (modest portion).

Yesterday was boiled egg with grilled mushroom and tomato, lunch was an ITSU classic chicken pot (soup with chicken, rice noodles and veg - 250 calories), dinner was stir fry veg (loads) with light soy sauce, Thai red rice and prawns and calamari with ginger, chilli and garlic.

Sunday was toast and jam (two slices), lunch was salad with loads of veggies in it inc sugar snap peas, carrots, baby corn, avocado and tomato, with balsamic vinegar, humous and ham and dinner was baked salmon with herbs, green beans, kale, butternut squash, asparagus and baby new potatoes.

I've run 5km or gone to the gym and done about 45 min cardio (treadmill and bike) plus some squats etc each day and also walked about 30 min each day by getting of the public transport a couple of stops early on my commute to work.

I'm desperate to get to target so I can be little bit more relaxed about my food choices but I am letting my hair down on that front a bit at least once a week (eg for nights out or dinners with friends). I don't want to starve myself or push my body too hard because I do want to conceive! Basically I was eating an enormous amount of crap before (emotional over-eating) so I think my body is actually quite glad to get rid of the excess and get back down to a less artificially inflated size (for me).

aenor · 04/02/2015 01:29

TakesTwotoTango - don't over do the running. If you are TTC it's better to get your exercise from gentle walking rather than anything that makes your heartbeat rise.

See the following video:

Apparently the body interprets elevated heartbeat as physiological stress and decides it not safe to conceive.

TakesTwoToTango · 04/02/2015 10:53

Thanks Aenor, I am taking care of myself and not pushing to exhaustion. I don't think its necessary for most women who are already fit only to walk though, except maybe in exceptional cases. That seems to be on the extreme end of the available advice about exercise and TTC. I think in my case, managing my weight and fitness levels also have benefits for TTC. I'm also lucky that I know my body reasonably well and I'm not exercising any more than I was when I conceived my previous children. I'm also temping and using OPKs so I can keep an eye out for any unhelpful impact on my cycle/ovulation. Thankfully at the moment it isn't being affected.

Weighed in again today lost another 2 lbs so -18 now. Think I may treat myself with dinner tonight and have a night off and a glass of wine.

Well done to everyone else. We are all doing really well.

SpamAnderson · 05/02/2015 13:01

Hi all! Weighed yesterday morning and have now lost 10lbs since 2nd jan :) I'm 8+3 so really chuffed with -10 :) 13lbs to lose until I get down to a weight that won't be classed as 'high risk' :) I put on weight straight away with both dds so I can't help but think this one is a boy and the hormones are balancing me out and making the weight come off...... Weighed a lb heavier this morning but considering I ate sweets for breakfast, my weight in salted crisps then ate dds cheeseburger at soft play yesterday so I'm not overly surprised! Well done to everyone on their losses and hope you're doing ok dojo
