I had cramps too cupcake for quite a few weeks.

Have te health visitor today and I'm scared! You hear so many bad things about them! They're supposedly like the devil!! Hoping it goes ok Confused

Realised last night dummies are absolutely amazinG! Got the most sleep I've had last night thanks to them! Grin

Cupcake92 · 18/12/2014 08:58

I had cramps last time but a lot of them literally everyday, so just worried me it was a sign things are going wrong. Can't wait for this scan lol got too get through Xmas and New Years first.

Ducky the health visitor is usually worse when u go to baby clinic to visit and get baby weighed. The home visit isn't too bad if I'm honest it's more asking whether Ur coping okay if u want advice and just checking baby is well. My HV, when I went to baby clinic, DS was about 6 months old and she told me I needed to book an appppintment with my GP asap as DS's head was apparently far too big for his body!! And said something could be seriously wrong with him!! Obv it terrified me ! Saw my doctor and he went mental saying that HV needs sacking and that DS's head is a perfect size! I had to give him her name and everything as he was going to get her personally sacked! lol! N he was angry as she had wrote on DS's red book "discussed concerns about his deformed head"
That's in there for life now and he wasn't plwased about it neither was I!!!

Oh and yep I noticed dummies were a god send too!! Grin DS stopped using his dummy just after his 1st bday all by himself tho, sometimes wish he still had it to calm him down!

Ducky23 · 18/12/2014 09:03

Hahaha oh god!! His deformed head?!? I'm not going to go to the other weigh ins and stuff Shock apparently she might be funny about it but midwife said you don't hae to, I can get him weighed at baby class, and also the weigh ins are all done at the gp place I lost dd so I will just say that to her Confused

Cupcake92 · 18/12/2014 09:32

Yeah I don't think its compulsory, it's just to check weights being gained well. What kind of baby class is it?
I never did any classes with Ds because the women there kept telling me how I should be raising DS because I was "young"

I hate it when people are like that Hmm they do baby massage and things like that, they have ones where they just put loads of toys on the floor and let them play. Won't be until after x mas some time but I like the midwife who does them so would prefer that to the HV clinics

Siarie · 18/12/2014 14:46

Cupcake try and think of it like this. Every baby is a new blueprint being tested out for the first time, nothing you do is going to change the outcome (obviously avoid any of the recommended know foods and advice) but other than that what will be will be.

When you think about it worrying isn't changing anything, it's not useful to you and adding to the stress isn't good for either of you. I don't know if that helps but it certainly helped me.

For every scan I've just thought, well if this baby doesn't have the right instructions then I can't expect it to be built properly and that's that. Just have to wait and see.

Ducky23 · 18/12/2014 14:49

I know it's hard to say cupcake but do you think you will feel better after 12 weeks? If you think the worrying will be ongoing, maybe you should try the hypnotherapy? It's not for everyone but i found it relaxing Smile

Midwife thinks he weighs about 7 1/2 lb. Said my cervix is effaced and thinks I will lose mucus plug soon. But said likely still to go to 40 weeks. Everything fine. Saw his face very clearly. DH cried, I was a bit gobsmacked really by it all.

Purplelilly · 18/12/2014 16:34

I'm loving hearing all about your pregnancies ladies :)

Cupcake I hope that you'll be feeling less worried soon so you can enjoy the pregnancy experience.

I really like your outlook Siarie :)

Cupcake92 · 18/12/2014 18:30

Baby massage looks rele good Ducky!! :)
And yeah I think I'll be fine after 12 week scan for sure. Just want to get to that point lol! I feel better now tho as when I think about it, ive been sick so ive got morning sickness and u only get that when ur pregnant! I'm just going to calm down and let baby do its thing :)

Siarie that's a really good way of putting it! :) I like that.

Tori that's a big drop in percentage there! My mw has told me to call the epu up between Xmas day and New Years day and have it booked for the week after new years day. That way I'll be 8 weeks and a couple of days then. I hope it's as easy as she described. Just calling up and getting a scan lol.

Thanks purple! :) :)

Ducky23 · 18/12/2014 21:16

Glad your feeling better cupcake Smile I think epu's are just self referral but it depends who you get on the phone when you call. My mw booked mine for me so if you have no luck id say discuss it with your mw and maybe she will book it for you Smile

Just had to run and get ANOTHER pack of maternity pads Confused that must take my total up to at least 10 packs now Blush and it's probably wishful thinking that I just got one more pack! And I either have a crazy infection or awful never ending night sweats ConfusedI feel so attractive ATM Hmm haha

LuluJakey1 · 18/12/2014 22:05

I can't think babies are that comfortable by 38 weeks. He looked all folded up this afternoon. He must want to stretch out and have a good move around surely.

Tomorrow is my last day at work for somewhere between 8 and 12 months! I do need to stop but at the same time can't get my head round the thought. Midwife said once I stop and the baby arrives, I will forget about work.

DH and I are both wondering about 'losing' the 'mucous plug' Hmm Is it very big? Will I notice?

LuluJakey1 · 18/12/2014 22:07

Ducky, I get night sweats. I hate them. I like to be cool at night. Midwife said they are very common before and after birth - not just in menopause!

Ducky23 · 18/12/2014 22:08

I don't think it's too bad losing your plug lulu, I didn't notice losing mine with dd, with ds it apparently came when they broke my waters, I didn't see that but I said the pads they put under me looked very bloody and they said that's what it was

LuluJakey1 · 18/12/2014 22:27

She didn't say how big itmight be, just that it can be. blood stained, or not and can vary in colour. Didn't sound the nicest of things. DH is looking at photos of them on his Ipad, says they are horrible some of them and I will throw up if I look. (I am not good with human vomit or waste of any kind). DH will have to deal with poonamis

Cupcake92 · 18/12/2014 22:51

Aw Lulu bet it was lovely having one last scan before he's born! :) I can't wait for all that. And I've no idea about the mucus plug Confused nobody ever mentioned about mine coming away.

Good idea Ducky if I can't get the appointment I'll call my mw and beg her to book it for me Grin im sure she would as she's lovely to me.

OP posts:
Ducky23 · 19/12/2014 08:58

I think it's just like a very heavy/thick discharge lulu Confused (pregnancy is bloody glamorous!) but it might not come away with you knowing, I think sometimes tey can come out when you go to the toilet and with dd mine came with my waters (just looked like blood tbh) about 15 mins before she was born. Is it your last day at work today lulu?

cupcake the midwife probably can put them straight aswell if they are reluctant to book one! I was quite shocked when I went to mine, it's in the hospital but it was on the top floor I hadn't been to before, it was a mess compared to the rest of the hospital! Grin

Think my stitches are getting better now, they aren't too sore any more (still can't sit on hard seats) but (TMI!) I was almost brave enough to wipe! Didnt, but was almost brave enough! Smile

poppet85 · 19/12/2014 09:42

Hello ladies good to hear everyones doing well ! Question about dreaded weight gain ! How much do you put on in the end ?! It seems never ending . I am quite petite and have put on around 10kgs at 33 weeks . I really dont want to put on any more !! I am not one of these people who tend to worry about weight but no more please !!

Ducky23 · 19/12/2014 09:50

I didn't weigh myself poppet but foud I put quite a bit on but then lost it towards the end. I think I'm actually a bit smaller than before as my trousers are all a bit looser

Ds is 11 days old now and I'm back in all my old clothes GrinGrinGrin but my tummy is still a bit flabby, have been trying to do some excercises while he sleeps but it causes the bleeding to be worse Confused

Oo weird Ducky! Where I have to go is just the gynacology unit! Confused they do the early scand there.

Oh god don't talk to me about baby weight!! I put on so much from DS!! I was a size 8/10 and I'm only short and now I'm 12/14. So having a baby absolutely destroyed my figure. Grin

Planning to test 31st December cupcake if no Af before.

Cd 14 today feeling very cramps had positive opk cd9 so not sure if that is a good sign

LuluJakey1 · 19/12/2014 17:44

I have only put on 16 lbs in total- have actually lost a bit some weeks- but I have been trying to eat healthily and exercise and have definitely lost some fat. I can see it on my face and back. That is why they did the scan, to check his growth. He is fine. Hopefully, I will end up a bit lighter Grin

Yes, have finished work today. Came home with a car load of presents- everyone was lovely. Have had a couple of hours sleep on the sofa.

DH is out for a couple of drinks with his mates from work so I have the house to myself. The soup maker is on and I am having homemade soup followed by roasted vegetables for tea.

Then a bath and jimjams on.
