Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

thread not three!

LittlePoot · 24/04/2015 12:27

Of course you're very welcome to join us cinnamon. I'm a bit ahead of you -been trying since the June before. Still hoping it might work one day!

Brindler · 24/04/2015 17:30

Hi Cinnamon welcome to the thread! I'm relatively new to it myself and have found it a massive help so far. We need some new people to keep it going after all the bfps! Hopefully it brings you the same luck!

CinammonGirl · 24/04/2015 19:59

Thank you both :) Have there been lots of BFPs then, I must go back and read the whole thread when I get a chance. I have been trying to be more relaxed about it in recent months after a big disappointment in January - I was convinced I was pregnant as had lots of symptoms and AF was two weeks late (only other time I have been that late is when I was PG) was totally gutted after three negative tests followed by the arrival of AF :( Not helped by mil constantly commenting to people that she wishes we would "get a move on"! :(

Brindler · 24/04/2015 20:53

Oh cinnamon I know exactly how you feel! I have those months (most months) when I convince myself I've done it and go crazy with symptom spotting throughout the 2ww! It got so bad that this month I literally did not dtd once! Just so I could have a complete month off from stressing about it! Was such a relief but have to get back to it this month. We're now entering our 3rd year of trying after conceiving dd on our first attempt

I actually had a work colleague come and pat my stomach recently and say "any news?" My only answer was "no, it's just my lunch" ??

It's well worth skimming the rest of the thread for tips etc and just to discover that there are others going through exactly the same as us

CinammonGirl · 24/04/2015 21:47

People can be bloody insensitive can't they! I love mil to bits but I feel like she knows we are trying and hoping so there's no need to keep mentioning all the time as if we are not making enough effort! I'm probably over sensitive. Just so tired of disappointment. My close friend recently had her second baby and I was an emotional wreck the day she had him, crying and everything!

I think it's just so frustrating because there seems to be no reason - I'm overweight but no more than I was than when we conceived dd, I'm relatively fit and healthy, walk at least two miles a day with the dog and run about after DD, try to eat healthily and up until christmas had completely abstained from alcohol. I'm now back to the odd glass of vino on the weekends as I'm trying to think about things less and just get on with life but it's always at the back of my mind. DD was born 9 weeks premature and I suffered terribly with PND and up until a year ago I didnt think I wanted to have another baby but now it would mean the world to me. I just took it for granted it would happen within a few months.

It'll be so good to have support here and will definitely read through, am on page 3 already!

I really hope you get your longed for BFP soon x

tattyteddy · 26/04/2015 18:05

Hello everyone, I started the original thread ages ago, but haven't been on this that much. Just wanted to congratulate metal and others with bfps. I just wanted to update about myself. I managed to get bfp in February this year so am 13+6 today. Jan/feb was the time we hardly dtd and didn't use any opks etc.

Still worry it will go wrong but on the scan at 22 weeks all looked ok.

Good luck to everyone waiting for bfp xx

Metalhead · 27/04/2015 14:36

Hi tatty, great to hear you got your BFP as well and are safely into the second trimester now, congratulations!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, and cinnamon this has definitely been a lucky thread so far, so hopefully we'll see some more BFPs soon.

I'm not complaining, but oh my God I feel so sick, constantly fighting the urge to throw up at the moment... urgh. But, I never felt this bad with my last pregnancy, so I'm taking it as a good sign that this is one will stick!

Thanks tatty and metal and huge congratulations to you both Flowers

Brindler · 27/04/2015 20:23

Nice to meet you tatty, congrats on your bfp and thanks for starting the original thread - it's been such a help and a great support to me. How long did it take you to conceive in the end?

Sorry to hear you're not feeling so great metal but I agree it's definitely a good sign!

Cinnamon I totally know how you feel with friends getting their bfps. Bizarrely I don't feel as affected when people on this thread get their positives and genuinely happy for them! I think maybe because I know they've been through what I'm going through if that makes sense. Real life is a different story though. I literally had 5 friends in the space of 3 weeks tell me they were pregnant with their seconds. All their babies just had their first bdays which shows how long I've been trying! my last friend who only had one dc just got her bfp a few months ago so I'm officially the only one in our group with only one child ??

LittlePoot · 27/04/2015 20:42

Lovely news tatty, and you metal - sick is great at this stage. It must be really hard trying to convince yourself you're happy about it though!

Brindler - I've been pretty lucky with our NCT lot and second babies - three definite decisions to stick with one child and one in an even worse situation than us (definitely unable to have any more and the first was a 5 year struggle - poor thing). So there are 3 second babies and probably no more to come (other than mine, obviously). We were at CenterParcs last week though (which was brilliant!) and everyone seemed to have two or be pregnant. Didn't bother me as much as usual - maybe I'm past the worst.

As for me, I'm nearing the end of the 2ww (think I'm due Friday ish) and entering my usual loss of sanity. This is a 'no symptom' pmt month by the look/feel of it. I need to read back through the threads so I can prove to myself that this is just a repeat of what I've had before and not a sign that this month is different. I think I've had every combination of symptoms and lack of symptoms now in the last couple of years, so it'd be nice if that stopped me obsessing. Obviously not! Busy week at work though and no pee sticks in the house so maybe I'll make it to the weekend. Ha - who am I trying to kid! Anyone else symptom spotting this week?

tattyteddy · 27/04/2015 21:04

Thanks everyone.

I think I stared TTC in March 2014 and was using cbfm, opks etc and nothing was happening. I was due to finish my MA in November so had a break for about three months, couldnt cope with that and dissertation etc. Then just had 'fun' after AF in January 2015 and got BFP on the Thursday in Feb before I sarrted new job on Monday! It was the month I didn't bother with opks or anything. I'm sure I would have got BFP sooner if I'd booked skiing holiday! Xx

Brindler · 27/04/2015 21:04

I wrote down every single symptom of my 2ww a couple of cycles ago so I'd never put myself through it again! Then of course had a month off and we're just entering trying time but I'm so bloody tired this evening! Did an opk and got a negative so I'm going straight to bed! Might treat myself to some digital opks tomorrow instead of trying to guess the darkness of a second line! Keep us updated on your 2ww!

Metalhead · 27/04/2015 21:04

little I know this probably isn't going to help, but I really felt exactly the same as any other month when I got my BFP...

OP posts:
LittlePoot · 27/04/2015 21:27

No metal - definitely didn't help! You're meant to be talking me down! To be fair though, that's exactly what I thought last time I had a no symptom month - I was totally convinced but then af turned up precisely on time as if nothing ever happened. So I'm not too excited this time. Yet.
x

lovesmycake · 28/04/2015 07:49

Congratulations tatty what lovely news. :)

Sorry your feeling rubbish metal I hope the next few weeks pass as quickly as possible for you and you start feeling better soon!

I am 22 weeks which seems to have come out of nowhere, all was good at the 20 week scan and we are having a little girl.

I'm so glad this thread is still here and people are still finding comfort from it. I would have gone mad without it I think. It was a long 15 months but made easier knowing I wasn't alone. So lovely to hear from all the BFP'ers and fingers crossed for everyone still waiting that this is your month. :)

lovesmycake · 28/04/2015 07:51

little I didn't feel any different the month of the BFP either, I was two day's late and still moaning to DH about how it was never going to happen for us.........Wink

LittlePoot · 28/04/2015 08:36

How fantastic loves. Amazing you're past halfway already. But I wish you guys would stop fueling my obsession! xxx

tattyteddy · 28/04/2015 17:32

I'ts great this thread has provided so much support. I hope it proves lucky for all those waiting for bfps xx

BurningGubbins · 28/04/2015 22:21

Hello all, just checking in and glad to see there's been some activity while I've off on my hols. Unsurprisingly, no good news at my end this month, but another short cycle. I was off the soy this month but am wondering if it's had a lasting effect. My last 3 cycles have been about 24 days, with LPs of about 9 days, which is not good.

Metal, did any of your supplements help your cycle do you think?

CinammonGirl · 29/04/2015 06:58

Its so nice to hear so many positive stories :) I haven't used opks yet, I track my cycles with an app and I getoovulation pains along with other symptoms when ovulating. I ovulated on Monday so dtd Monday evening and Tuesday evening, now into the wait! I have started taking pregnacare conception this week as a friend told me she took it and caught really quickly both times so its worth a try. Had a real down day yesterday, was very tearful all day. Don't know if its just ovulation hormones. Good luck to all the others into the wait x

Brindler · 29/04/2015 08:20

Hey Burning how was your hols?

I wish I could get into the 2ww - I don't even appear to have reached ovulation yet! Even splashed out on some clearblue digital opks yesterday. I've not taken any supplements at all this month as got out of the habit after I wasn't allowed to take anything before my lap - now worried that's had an affect on my cycle. Just going to have to dtd tonight anyway I think - dh is getting impatient!

Cinnamon sorry to hear you're feeling down. Hope today is a better day for you x

CinammonGirl · 29/04/2015 08:46

Thank you brindler - got a busy day today so won't have time to sit and mope which is a good thing! I do feel a bit better today, almost like I've done all I can this month so that's it. The waiting is hard though!

Metalhead · 29/04/2015 09:33

Hi burning, I hope you had a nice holiday despite AF making an unwelcome appearance. I don't really know whether any of the supplements helped, but I had my earliest ever ov on CD15 during my BFP cycle, which was the first month I took the myo-inositol, so it might have helped (or it might have just been a random one off).

Just ordered some metal and praying it brings me the same luck as you!

Another pregnancy announcement on fb tonight from a person who got pregnant with her first ds about a year after I'd had my dd ??
