Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

Thanks all, and glad your scan went ok chendy even it is was too early to see a heartbeat. Did you get an NHS scan because of your previous mc or did you go private? I'm already planning on getting a scan at 8 weeks, which is when it all went wrong last time... It's going to be a very long four week wait!

Thanks little! Harmony scan was fine and nasal bone clear so fingers crosssed it's ok. The nhs sonographer said they can't comment on the nasal bone as they don't use it as a marker do I was worried. Results in two weeks expect nhs to be high risk!

LittlePoot · 31/03/2015 14:14

Metal - with ds, I had two early NHS scans (8 weeks and 10 weeks) after my previous MMC. I don't think I had to push very hard - although I was probably quite teary (I got pregnant straight after the MMC - ironically enough). Although it was terrifying going for the scans, at least I didn't spend the whole 12 weeks wondering whether there was actually a baby in there or not.

Crispie - judging from the science behind the harmony test, it should give you a clear yes or no answer for downs. For a negative result, I think they tell you it's 1/10000, but actually that's effectively a no - if the test works, it's not really possible to get a false negative result but they don't have the long-term data to back that up yet (as it's a new test). It actually counts baby chromosomes, so there either are the right number or there aren't. It's not like the scan or bloods where it's just a correlation if you see what I mean. As in, you can have a high nuchal and crap looking bloods but still a healthy baby (or vice versa). But if there are too many chromosomes then you know that for sure. Fingers crossed for a good result anyway.

I might ask my GP if I can get an early scan too little, he is usually very sympathetic and knows my history. But if not I'm going to pay for one privately, after all the money I've spent on ttc what's another £100 to get some reassurance (hopefully).

Fx for you crispie that all is ok.

Thanks both! I'm a bit of a nervous wreck already but trying to stay positive and enjoy being pregnant (after all, it will hopefully be the last time!).

I'm sure you will get there in the end goodegg, I've got everything crossed for all of you still waiting for your BFPs that you won't have to wait much longer. If I can do it, so can you! x

Glad to hear all is going well with so many of you.

Had a blue couple of days about it all, but seeing some long-termers get there gives me hope!

LittlePoot · 02/04/2015 08:02

Glad you're feeling some hope burning. Me on the other hand, well I might just disappear under my duvet and not come out. After starting to get my hopes up on both counts, I've now discovered I'm not pregnant and have been turned down for that new job. Frankly, it all sucks.

Metalhead · 02/04/2015 13:34

So sorry to hear that little. I hope you manage to have a nice Easter break anyway. Flowers

Sorry you're feeling down little, hope you're being looked after.
Metal I got the early scan on NHS because of mc- didn't have to push hard as i think doctor could see how anxious I was to be honest, I think it wouldn't be a problem for you.
Fingers crossed my next scan on Weds will show a heartbeat. I look about 5 months already which gives me hope x

BurningGubbins · 03/04/2015 09:24

Bad news in the Gubbins household yesterday, DH's test came back poor, so it seems that is what the issue has been. I am still keeping positive but he's understandably taken it badly. Anyone know anything about this stuff? The Internet tells me these things can fluctuate and can be helped with lifestyle changes, but we'll need to see what the specialists say.

BurningGubbins · 03/04/2015 09:25

Little, sorry it's not gone your way.

LittlePoot · 04/04/2015 13:19

Oh rubbish burning - sorry it's not good news. What kind of bad were his results? I think they measure live count, movement and morphology and there are different possible things to do depending on which of those is low. My OH's test came back with low morphology (only 2% normal forms - normal is anything over 4%) but his count was very high and good motility so they didn't seem to think the morphology was a problem. Either way, he's drinking less (not that he was a big drinker before) and is taking man vitamins so that might be making a difference - who knows. They haven't suggested retesting or anything so I guess unless we pay we'll never know. x

Brindler · 04/04/2015 14:55

Burning, I thought my husbands SA result was poor too (3% morphology and 37% motility although count was good) however just received my consultants report today which refers to his sperm as 'absolutely fine' and blames our problems on my apparent pcos and also endometriosis which is the first I've heard of it as this wasn't mentioned at our consultation!

Have you got your dh on any supplements? I've heard high doses of vitamin c can help (1000 to 2000mg a day) also Pycnogenol but they are expensive.

I know it's hard but try and remain positive - as my gp said - it only takes one of them!

BurningGubbins · 05/04/2015 08:49

It was the actual count that was the issue, motility and the rest were all good. He's now on vitamins, and cutting out alcohol and caffeine, but from what we've read it takes a while for it to have an impact. Once Easter is over we'll make an appointment to see the specialists - GP understandably didn't know much.
I'm off the soy now and hoping my lp will return to normal, though I wasn't tracking it so closely so not sure what 'normal' is for me.

Brindler, how terrible to find out about endometriosis that way! Does it give any detail? Can't be that severe if they didn't mention it in person?

Brindler · 05/04/2015 13:13

At least with sperm they can change/improve over time (or so I understand).

Yes the whole thing is totally bizarre as I don't really have the symptoms of either! I'm going on a major health kick from next week once these Easter eggs are out the way and got my laparoscopy on the 14th so keeping my fingers crossed that it will help!

BurningGubbins · 07/04/2015 06:31

That's the thought we're clinging to.

My diet went out of the window over Easter so need to get back on that too. Finally found my passport so we're definitely going on holiday!

LittlePoot · 07/04/2015 17:57

Same here with the diet. Am doing 5:2, but I'm not sure 5 solid days of chocolate, percy pigs and hot cross buns is meant to be part of the programme.... Back on it today though and have just discovered that M&S sushi is filling and low calorie enough to be lunch with a ww ready meal for tea and still under 500 calories. Back on the percy pigs tomorrow....

BurningGubbins · 07/04/2015 20:45

I've just broken my tooth on a chocolate cornflake cake. That'll teach me...

LittlePoot · 07/04/2015 22:16

No way! You poor thing. I hope it doesn't hurt and you can get to a dentist quickly. I broke a back tooth on granary bread years ago and found it very traumatic. Hope you're ok? x

BurningGubbins · 08/04/2015 21:37

I think it's a filling that has broken rather than the tooth. It's not hurting but is a bit sharp. I've got a dentist appointment but it's not until next Friday... I was only in there last week getting some others replaced! Ever since I had my son my teeth have been awful - I feel like a little old lady scared to bite anything for fear of a tooth falling out...

How is everyone doing? My cycle tracking app is saying that I should be ovulating towards the end of next week, but that'll be CD19, which seems late for me, especially now I'm off the soy.

Brindler · 10/04/2015 13:38

Hi ladies. Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine! Burning, how is the tooth holding out?! Metal are you still lurking? How are you feeling?

Well I had my pre op this week in prep for my lap on tues. All went fine other than the nurse dropped the syringe whilst doing my blood test - cue blood everywhere and all down my fave jeans ??. Left there looking like I'd had a nasty accident!

Metalhead · 10/04/2015 22:26

Hi brindler, yes I'm still lurking and willing you all on to get your BFPs! I'm doing ok, not much in the way of symptoms yet apart from tiredness, sore boobs and occasional cramps. Booked in with my GP this week and he's going to refer me for an early scan in a couple of weeks when I'll be around 7 weeks. Unfortunately I seem to have borderline hypertension at the moment (probably because of all the stress and worrying!) so will have to go back and see him next week and see what he suggests.

Good luck with your op next week, I hope it goes well. And hope you get your tooth sorted too burning, how annoying about the filling breaking.

[Waves to everyone else.]

The tooth is hanging in there, though another bit came off when I bit into some dim sum! I could understand if it was crunchy, but really...

We are in the Shag Zone (so much for the app predicting next week!) but going for every other day this time.
