Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

Just realised it's a year today that I had the erpc after my mmc. I never thought I'd not even be pregnant again by now... Sad

Ouch-sorry metal. A sad anniversary for you. x

CHendy78 · 18/02/2015 19:38

Good luck goodegg with appt and good luck little with application. Metal, fingers crossed your body is just gearing up- I read that soy can slow ov but help release a stronger egg so could be a good thing?
My DH and I are back on dtd every night till Sunday then I'll join the 2ww torment next week.
At least i'll be back at work and therefore mad busy. I was interested you work 4 days, Little, am hoping to go down to that in next couple of months. Did it have a big impact on your quality of life? Want to drop Fridays for shopping, cleaning and jobs etc so can actually have quality family time at the weekend rather than running round cramming all the chores in.

CHendy78 · 18/02/2015 19:39

Cross messages again, sorry to hear that metal, hope you're doing ok xx

Metalhead · 18/02/2015 21:45

Thanks both. Onwards and upwards hopefully... x

Fertility monitor says high today so on it later..... Struggling to motivate myself, got stinking cold and not feeling very sexy! The window is so a annoyingly short :-/

Tweej · 19/02/2015 10:30

Ah metal I know I had a mc and really hope I'll be pregnant by due date. Sorry you aren't feeling well chendy. Back peeing on opks again.

Wavering on whether my quality rather than quantity plan is the right way to go. We both have colds and little miss is only getting over a chest infection so we are all shattered.

Cd 10 and not gonna start dtd until cd 12. So really only focussing on fertile window this month. Hoping it's the right decision.

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 19/02/2015 11:55

So sorry about the sad date Metal. Fingers crossed more of the upwards. X

Ive switched to CB opks this month which have confused me. I started testing on the date it advised based on my last cycle and got two days of low and then jumped straight to peak with no high. Is this normal? Also, the peak was 3 days earlier than I had had come to expect from using ic's.

Had a good appointment with consultant this morning... It's def not the big C which is a huge relief and I have also gleaned lots more info than my GP offered up. On my way to work now but will do long post later with details. Think I will also be 2ww buddy this month as had peak on CB opk on Tuesday. X

Metalhead · 19/02/2015 13:01

That's a relief goodegg!

I finally got a +opk today so should ov tomorrow or Saturday. We've been dtd every other day for the last week and will try and do it again tonight and tomorrow to cover all bases.

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 19/02/2015 17:33

So. The Consultant said that the GP did the right thing in referring me along this pathway as the cyst is largish and 'complex' however, one of the easiest types of cyst to distinguish from an ultrasound is apparently a chocolate cyst which is what I have. It is due to endometriosis and the only way to get rid is a laparoscopy. She did tell me though that my day 21 blood test result showed low progesterone and indicates that I am not ovulating or at least didn't ovulate that month (my GP told me all my blood tests came back normal). So anyway I am going to be booked in for another scan to review the cysts and she is going to write to my GP to recommend referral to infertility clinic due to low progesterone.

Am kind of peeved at my GP about the blood results thing but at least it's been picked up by someone else. I had suspected that something of that nature was wrong due to my short LP.

Even though that was not all good news for getting a bun in my oven I'm massively relieved it's nothing more sinister and I'm also feeling positive that these issues are all things that something can be done about so I have a plan.

EmperorTomatoKetchup · 19/02/2015 23:08

That's fantastic news GoodEgg that it's not something sinister and hopefully as you say treatable

BurningGubbins · 20/02/2015 12:48

That's great news GoodEgg, must feel good to be on a path to getting treatment.

On the blood tests front, my GP told me that it didn't matter what day I had them done (this is for a first general look at what's happening). When I pushed she said I could go on Day 21 'for accuracy'. Any views from you experts?

Naturally the one weekend I'm away from home is the time that the opks are starting to show lines. Not positive yet but heading that way. Hoping I don't miss the boat by going for it on Sunday.

Tweej · 21/02/2015 08:39

Morning all,

Good news good egg, how's everyone getting on.

Second blank face on clearblue advanced opks. That's never happened before always went from blank on day 1 to flashy. Cd 12 here. Haven't started dtd, waiting for a more focussed approach.

Any advice on opks x

CHendy78 · 21/02/2015 10:54

Hi, goodegg that must be such a relief! I use CB opk at had flashy face past two days and peak today, so dtd this morning and will again tonight and tomorrow then the hideous waiting. I've found the CB ones quite clear to use and I regularly ov on day 12. Not felt it pop yet today yet though.
So it sounds like most of us will be at it this weekend- happy humping ladies, fingers crossed for some bfps in 2 weeks! Xx

Metalhead · 21/02/2015 15:10

That's annoying about your GP goodegg, but at least now it's been picked up and you're being referred to the right people.

burning your GP also sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about. What blood tests is she doing for you? If it's LH/FSH it should be done at the beginning of your cycle, usually CD2-3, or if it's progesterone to check for ovulation it has to be done 7 days before your next AF. I would just ignore what she said and try and get the bloods booked for those days.

I can't help with the opks tweej as I've only ever used the normal CB ones or ICs.

Well I had +opks yesterday and Thursday, and this morning it was still a very strong line though fainter than yesterday. I think I'm probably ovulating today, but not sure we can manage another shag tonight - we've done the last three days in a row! Surely that should be enough, even if we miss tonight, right? RIGHT?!

BurningGubbins · 22/02/2015 00:43

Thanks Metal, I thought it sounded odd, from what you'd all said. I wasn't overly impressed all round, but she was the doc available in the timeslot. I'll go for someone else next time. She said they don't do tests on specific days anymore, and didn't say whether she was testing for anything in particular. I'll have to check the bit of paper when I get home.

Seems like we're all heading into 2ww. Should be interesting/crazy round here!Grin

BurningGubbins · 22/02/2015 00:46

Oh and yes, three days in a row is a sterling effort! Smile

CHendy78 · 22/02/2015 10:42

Heehee well done metal. Managed to do thurs, yesterday and this morning. According to opk still high fertility but no peak yet so still on it so to speak. Poor DH doing very well ;)

Tweej · 22/02/2015 13:46

So another blank face on clearblue opk third in a row. Did a cheap one at lunch time and looks like I'll get a positive tonight/tomorrow so gonna start dtd. Isn't that weird. how's everyone today x

chendy78 · 22/02/2015 20:02

Tweej are you using first morning urine? Know you don't have to for some but for CB is important unless you're already flashing high. Going summon the will to do it again tonight on the principle that the more there is the better the chances? ! Read mixed things about quality vs quantity but tbh I don't think 'experts' know half the time. Need luck!

Tweej · 22/02/2015 21:02

Yep Chendy always use fmu with clearblues. Did a cheap one at 7pm and it was positive. So weird. I think luck has a big part to play. So we dtd twice today. I'll report back on tomorrows opk. Either clearblue is wrong or ics. Either way it's very confusing.

LittlePoot · 22/02/2015 21:17

Interesting about the clearblue tests giving you odd results -I'm giving them a try next month (thanks crispie!) so will try and ic alongside and let you know what happens. And as for quantity vs quality, I agree the professionals don't really have a clue here and its down to luck. My gp told me once every two or even better three days all month was the best way to get pregnant. But for the three times in got pregnant previously, it was from a major shagathon around ov. And I mean major -morning and night and sometimes a lunchtime one as well. Even the thought of it makes me tired these days -how times change! Needless to say we haven't tried that approach (yet) this time. Maybe that's where we're going wrong....

Metalhead · 22/02/2015 22:48

I'm all shagged out for this month! Grin

(And I don't think you need to be at it like rabbits tbh, with DD we just dtd every other day for two weeks, and with my last pregnancy we did it exactly once.)

OP posts:
lovesmycake · 23/02/2015 10:32

Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind me popping back here thought I would give a little update. I am 13 weeks today and just had my scan all is well and as it's a private scan (in Norway you only get one scan at 18 weeks) it was 3D and the lady said she was pretty sure it's a little girl!

FWIW just reading back your previous posts the month we got PG I was away on business trip while OV and just did a rather hopeful DTD the night I got home having had my 'peak' the two previous days goes to show it probably is a bit of luck, though I'm very impressed with all the marathon shagging going on :) don't think we ever managed 3 days in a row!!

Hoping this is the lucky month for you all I know what a slog it can be.

Metalhead · 23/02/2015 10:45

That's lovely news loves, hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly too!
