Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

Oh bugger - sorry metal. Spend the day indulging in non -pregnancy friendly substances to commiserate. x

Metalhead · 24/01/2015 10:36

Thanks little, I can feel my good intentions to stay off the wine for a month waning already... Blush

Sorry that you're out for another month metal.

Can I ask you ladies about your afs if you don't mind? Before I had a baby, mine used to be quite heavy, and last a good 5 days with a couple of days spotting either end. Now, it barely lasts 3 days, only 2 of which I would describe as full flow, but not nearly as heavy as they used to be. Do you think this is anything to be concerned about, having lighter periods, or is it just one of those things that changes after you've had a child? I've mentioned it before when I've seen the doctors, but nobody seems that concerned, as long as I am having periods. Has anyone else had anything similar?
Thanks.

Metalhead · 24/01/2015 10:59

joey my AF also became much lighter after I had the mmc last year, which made me convinced I had Asherman's syndrome, but it turns out I don't. Still don't understand it, but I guess mc/birth can just change things a bit.

I have exactly the same -mine are barely 2 days long now. I talked to the consultant at the hospital about it and she wasn't bothered either. Hopefully nothing to worry about!

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 24/01/2015 16:35

Sorry about the BFN Metal.
I've had the same with my AF since i had ds. Proper flow for only about 2 days and a few days spooning and that's it. Think it's just one of those things.

LittlePoot · 25/01/2015 19:56

Phew! Well, that's the 4th birthday party over with -was a lovely day! Amazingly well behaved for a room full of 4 year olds.... And the dinosaur cake went down a treat. Thank goodness I'm only struggling with secondary infertility - can't imagine how awful it would have been if I couldn't have even had my little monkey. Am starting to get normal early pmt symptoms so pretty sure this wasn't my month either. Bah!

EmperorTomatoKetchup · 25/01/2015 20:56

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a good weekend

The dinosaur cake sounded fab Little, I have a dinosaur obsessed DS. His favourite show is Andy's Dinosaur Adventures on cBeebies.

Well I'm on 8ish dpo, predictably I'm obsessively symptom spotting...I've even managed to turn the fact I have a hideous cold and have spent the entire weekend in bed wiped out by it into a symptom. I did have a couple of specks of blood when I wiped today but I suspect that was probably due to DTD this morning..

CHendy78 · 25/01/2015 20:57

I'm waiting for my first period following the miscarriage so I can resume peeing on a stick, have dtd a few times so there is a chance but my hormones are so all over the shop at the moment. Not sure when I'm due so trying not to think about it for a few weeks. Thing I find hard is how people think because you already have a child, it's ok to keep asking you about when you're going to have the next.
I think I'm like some of you, another child would be a joy but I'm so blessed with my son and husband- am conscious I don't want TTC to become all consuming. That said, it's so hard not to obsess! I know the chances immediately post m/c probably aren't great but because we've done it a few times I'm already wondering again. And now will be worrying about miscarrying again, too. Stupid brain. Why can't it be easier????

crispiecrunchie · 26/01/2015 08:00

I'm due sometime this week as well though last month I had a five week cycle so could be waiting till next weekend. We seem to be syncing cycles on this thread!

We only dtd four times and I didn't track cycle but think we were few days early or late so not much hope this month! Roll on February!

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 26/01/2015 10:00

It does seen like we're becoming cycle buddies!
I have a GP appointment this afternoon for the results of my bloods and ultrasound. I want to get as much useful info out of this as possible so could anyone advise me what are some key things I'm looking for eg. What level should my progesterone be and what else is important? TIA.

Metalhead · 26/01/2015 12:28

Glad your DS and everyone had a lovely time at the party little!

I know how you feel CHendy, even if I manage to get pregnant again I won't trust my body to not have another mc. It's just shit.

Good luck with your results GoodEgg. Progesterone should be over 30 to confirm ovulation I think.

I'm just waiting for AF to arrive anytime now after another BFN this morning (which I only did because my boobs were killing me last night). Just went for a run and am feeling a bit crampy already. Ordered some more opks as the 'relaxed' approach wasn't really relaxing for me, so might as well make sure we continue to dtd at the right time.

I've pretty much given up now, but DH wants to carry on trying until the end of the year so I've agreed to keep going. I know I'm still going to obsess, but I'm seriously looking at going back to uni now and have emailed the admissions office to see if I'd have to do an access course or something first as it would be a complete career change. I need to focus on a future that does not involve another baby or else I feel this will break me...

Well I got a positive on a super drug test tonight. Can't quite believe it! Also can't get too excited after mc on September and of course at 42 my odds on it sticking are low! Feeling bemused and not quite trusting what I'm seeing. Ordered the twenty pack of clear blue dual hormone ovulation test last night too!! I only tested as I was prescribed something you can't take of pregnant so thought i better make sure. Regret the wine at the weekend now

EmperorTomatoKetchup · 26/01/2015 20:06

Congratulations Crispie!!! Smile

LittlePoot · 26/01/2015 20:07

Fantastic!! Crispie that's just brilliant!! Don't worry at all about the wine, it won't have made any difference yet. Maybe lay off it for a bit now though. Hooray!!! x

Metalhead · 26/01/2015 20:10

Great news crispie! Just goes to show that you don't have to dtd loads, as long as it's at the right time. Fx that this one sticks. And don't worry about the wine, everyone I know had a few drinks before they found out they were pregnant, it's really common.

OP posts:
joey38 · 26/01/2015 20:29

Lovely to hear a positive story on here. Good luck crispie.
Seriously don't worry about the wine. I got very drunk the night before I found out I was pregnant with ds. He's absolutely fine!!

crispiecrunchie · 26/01/2015 20:44

Thank you everyone. I really hope it sticks. Apparently the chance of mc at my age is 45%!!!

For now Ill just have to take every hour and day as it comes. In the meantime its definitely positive right...even though the line is off centre? It's pink rather than grey....

Congratulations Crispie! FC this is the stickiest of sticky beans. Xx

Went to my GP appointment yesterday fully expecting her to tell me suspected endo and referral to gynie. She instead threw me a total curveball which sent me into a bit of panic. One cyst is complex and has quite a high US score of 3 so sent for CA 125 blood test which is raised in cases of ovarian cancer and referral to specialist gynie within 2 weeks. Trying my best to stay calm but not entirely succeeding. Really didn't think I would end up being pleased if it was endo. Sad

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 27/01/2015 09:36

If anyone else has had similar experience but everything turned out to be ok I would really appreciate the good outcome story.

crispiecrunchie · 27/01/2015 09:48

What a worry for you though it is really good they investigate quickly. I think in most cases the further investigations are just precautionary. You'll have to stay away from Google. Sending some positive thoughts xx

Metalhead · 27/01/2015 10:06

Oh no goodegg, what a shock for you! I'm afraid I don't have any experience of this, but like crispie said it is good that they're getting you checked out properly so quickly. I really hope you get the all clear from the tests. x

Congratulations crispie so lovely to hear of another BFP :)

I do keep checking back here as I so want to hear your positive news when it comes. Sorry for your latest results goodegg I really hope you are not left waiting to long for results.

metal the university thing sounds very positive. At the end of last year I was taking on projects at work all the time It helped me to feel I had some control back over my life it wasn't all about TTC.

As for me I'm 9 weeks at the moment sick as a dog but very happy to be in the position I am. Fingers crossed crispies BFP is the start of a run of good luck for you all :)

Metalhead · 27/01/2015 15:51

AF cramps starting to ramp up, I expect the witch will arrive in full force tomorrow. On a positive note, I got accepted for a volunteer job today so that should give me something else to focus on!

Glad to hear everything's going well so far loves.
