Thanks trying - its so nice coming on here and having people understad how you feel - this process can be very lonely at times!

You're right it will happen - either through SO, naturally or some other way - there are options, and I'm 32 so still got lots of years left yet!

I had natural miscarriages both times, both started with bleeding early on and then just progressed to a m/c so i guess I have been lucky in that respect, plus my cycle got striaght back on track too.

Our local hospital does sperm analysis and i think you can just ring up and book an appt to sort it out so i think we plan to do that as its rather a long waiting list!

I find it reassuring that all of us have similar feelings and emotions and we end up there in the end! And yes it's so lonely, noone really gets it.
Off to acu soon! (It's not helped me get preg so I'm not sure why I'm still doing it!)

dildoos · 18/12/2014 06:56

Morning ladies, how are you all today? The big day a week today Smile
I am off away until Monday first for my sisters 40th then for my mums 60th. So if I don't get to visit here , take care, chins up, 2015 will be this threads year! So use Christmas to eat, have drunken sex and get those BFP's (well that's what they do on Jeremy Kyle) x

Tryingno1 · 18/12/2014 07:46

Morning girls!

Well af arrived as expected. I'm now freakin out that I can't get preg because of these stupid NK cells. Sunny when u see shehata it may be worth discussing too? I don't rem ur levels but they were high I presume? My brain has gone into overdrive and I've started thinking about ivf and also failed ivf coz of these nk cells. Mine were only just high but I know they fluctuate and can be lower post period....which is when my bloods wefe taken. oh dear what to do. Might take the pred next month and hope that calms them down? No idea what to do...I don't know if I'm being crazy or actually reasonable? I'm really worried about not becoming preg and ontop of that miscarriage after miscarriage. Don't think I can handle another ten years of this crap!!!

Thanks dildoos! Have a great time. I'm off on holiday in a few days. Am running away from Xmas and reality!

Hope ur feeling better sunny
Hope not long till ur scan
And rosa hope ur time off starts soon
X

sunnyday01 · 18/12/2014 07:56

Enjoy your time away dildoos.

I'm feeling a lot better today, decided not to over think things and take one thing at a time, so just focussing on losing some weight and completing the SO and seeing what that brings. Also going to organise the sperm test hopefully at local hospital. IF so doesn't work and we also have results from dh sperm test, will then have an appt with dr s to discuss way forward. Part of me wants to try naturally for 6 months after SO before exploring other avenues. I think I feel better when I have a plan in my mind!!

I finish work on Friday so going to use my two weeks off to get back to the gym as been really crap lately - love going swimming in the mornings before work but haven't gone at all so want to get back to doing that.

Tryingno1 · 18/12/2014 11:10

Good plan sunny. U sound much calmer and cooler than my crazy post before!

sunnyday01 · 18/12/2014 11:23

lol - its amazing what a good cry and meltdown can do!!

It not surprising we loose our minds a bit - we see so much conflicting information about what to do and what not to and what has worked for someone and not someone else - it gets you thinking about what you are doing!

Heya all just been catching up with this thread as haven't been on here for a while.

I just wanted to echo the not giving up hope sentiment. It really struck me a couple of comments on here about having internal timelines. I too said to myself stuff like next Xmas I would be with child and then that next Christmas still no baby it. In fact a year after my first miscarriage I was having another one the following year. However, like many have already said on here treatment has worked for so many people with similar issues and lots of times when I thought all was lost someone would pop in here from a previous pred thread to tell us their success stories. And I clung onto that.

And now I Am thankful to say that I am a 'success' story, my daughter (can't believe i am saying that word, daughter) is 15 weeks old and the light of mine and my husbands lives. It happened for us after three miscarriages. I was on pred, cyclogest, clexane and aspirin and we got there in the end. And you will too. Xx

Tryingno1 · 19/12/2014 20:39

Tumtimes thank u for coming on here with ur story. Like u said, it keeps us lot going. It's hard not to set "deadlines". I think the constant ttc is so tiring for us all...
Enjoy ur daughter :). This Xmas u do have her! Yay :)

Determined123 · 19/12/2014 22:59

Ahh thanks Tumtimes that's so lovely to hear and stories like that keep us going! Wishing you a fantastic 1st Christmas with your little girl Smile

Sorry not been in here much but been so manic this week with work and travelling. :(

So I had my NHS appointment today (brought forward). They were really good in chatting through everything however there arent any further tests I can have. (karyotype no solution so they don't test, infections no evidence so again don't test etc etc, NK cells not enough evidence...you get the drift). Basically have had more tests already than would get on NHS (apart from infection and kt) and I should just keep trying and I will get success as most ladies do in the end. Not sure how I feel about that...part of me feels rubbish, why can't we rule these things out...the other is positive...will get there in the end!!! Urggh, not sure how I feel right now...bit pants I guess!!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today ready for xmas? Xxx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 20/12/2014 10:21

Hello everyone. Sorry to hijack your thread again but you seem to be the most knowledgable bunch on the Internet!

Some of you may remember I had a MMC a couple of weeks ago. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 18 months ago but suspect I have had it a lot longer and I am on levothyroxine.

I spoke to my gp and told her how scared I was about miscarry img again so they did a blood test for thyroid antibodies for me. I had a call yesterday from a doctor who said the level was '6' so they wouldn't consider it an autoimmune problem.

My question is if it isn't autoimmune then what has caused my thyroid to not function properly? I have no relatives with the condition (and they have been tested! History of psoriatic arthritis, sarcoids, addions and leukaemia in immediate family), I have never had radiation therapy, never taken any thyroid inhibiting medications and haven't been diagnosed with any other condition.

Just feel a bit lost and don't really understand why my body isn't working.

Sorry this is so long and a bit off topic.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 20/12/2014 10:22

Sorry that should say Addison's disease not addions.

Tryingno1 · 20/12/2014 10:59

Hi snoopy! Not hijacking at all! Hope ur ok? Thyroid problems can be caused by many things and only in some is it due to autoimmune causes. Apart from addisons (can be autoimmune and sometimes isnt) the other conditions you mentioned are usually autoimmune either...maybe someone with thyroid issues can add More? Like free?

Determined-I know it's annoying when they can't do anything more. That's wot made me go see me s. but you have had the full work up and hopefully it's just a matter of time like the rest of us.

X

Determined123 · 20/12/2014 11:22

Hi snoopy not hijacking at all...this what this thread is about!! I have very high thyroid antibodies and have spent the year trying to get my head round it all. I'm not on levothyroxine or anything like that yet as much thyroid is functioning ok...just....! but I did challenge this when I was last preg. Anyway, have you had all the immune and hormone tests you can have? (Sorry if repeating).

Thanks trying...I know this deep down but i do wonder why elsewhere they do karyotype, infections, dq alpha etc if there is no point in it?? It's more a case of won't then can't I feel! very frustrated to be told I will probably just end up having a baby in the end with or without treatment is very frustrating!!Confused

Tryingno1 · 20/12/2014 11:51

With the karotype if there was something The only option is ivf with pre genetic dertermination (PGD). The rates of doing that aren't great so I can understand why they didn't test for it. In USA though they do a lot of PGD for this reason....I had mine and DH karotype done and mr s told Me he doesn't test for it as no point! (Nhs tested it)
The hidden infections and all that dq mismatch I suppose is like nk cells
In that not much reserch but seems
To work for some! I've decided to give mr s a go and if I have another 2 miscarriages (please I hope not!) look at those routes too. We will get there in the end! I'm feeling hopefull that this is my Month! Except not sure if the Xmas drinking will help my DH sperm! Oh well. Got to enjoy Xmas!

My SIL keeps saying how sorry she is for us. I don't like pity. It's driving me up the wall. Deep breathing!

Hope everyone has done their Xmas shopping!

Tryingno1 · 20/12/2014 12:05

Hope hope ur feeling positive about ur scan on Monday! I have everything crossed for u. Looking fwd to hearing ur good news

Determined123 · 21/12/2014 11:29

Thanks trying...makes a bit more sense now! (Of a nonsensical situation ha ha!). I hope you and DH have some nice things planed over the xmas period!
Best of luck for tomorrow hope ;)

Xxx

Hopender · 21/12/2014 17:36

Thanks lovelies! Will let you know how I get on afterwards. Hope you are all feeling Christmassy! I'm feeling really ropey again so hope that is a good sign. Xxx

Tryingno1 · 21/12/2014 21:44

Glad u feeling ropey! (In the nicest way).
I'm at home with parents all week :) It's great but can feel the pounds piling and there's a lot Of nice vino! Not sure that's gonna be very helpful to getting preg this month. Sure it must happen one month though! I'm feeling more relaxed about when it will happen but maybe it's being at home and getting looked after!
Hello to all
X

Hopender · 22/12/2014 07:29

Thanks Trying. I always feel better when my Mum is around too! Everything just seems more in perspective! I feel like that when I spend time with my friends in some ways too. I think my DH and I just make each other feel worse! He is very optimistic but also a big worrier and is so devastated when it goes wrong. Anyway, hoping for good news this morning! Enjoy your wine (well, not for breakfast probably!) xx

Tryingno1 · 22/12/2014 12:27

I agree hope. Sometimes me and DH get sucked into our little world and it spirals. Being with family and friends u can switch off and forget!
Just had a carrot orange and ginger smoothie made by mum! Should hopefully counteract the wine?!
Hoping to hear some good news from u soon x

Hopender · 22/12/2014 15:10

Had eight and a half week scan this morning and all looking good. The EPU has signed me off now. Can't believe it!
The next hurdle for us is a 14 week scan as we hope to find out then if the baby has the genetic disorder that some of my family have/carry. There is a 50/50 chance but there are varying degrees of severity.
Thinking of you all! Xxxx

Tryingno1 · 22/12/2014 15:30

Great news! Enjoy ur Xmas ;)
So happy for u. I hope the next few months go quickly and smoothly too
X

sunnyday01 · 22/12/2014 16:10

Excellent news hope x

I'm having a nightmare - was trying yo be organised by getting my ovulation trigger shot before Xmas as boots has to order it in, took prescription in on Friday last week and they still haven't been able to get it in - think there may be a shortage of stock - getting worried that I won't have it now!

OP posts:
Determined123 · 22/12/2014 16:45

Woo hoo - what a great news to have before Xmas Hope - so pleased for you! :)

Sunny - when do you need it by roughly? and where are you based? I got mine first couple from the chemists by Dr S and I remember him saying they have stock there. (I went in there followed by other patients that were following our appointment so they must do pretty well out of it!). Perhaps you could try there (location depending).
