Chasing sending you my love its been a rough ride for you. Pleased you can have a fresh start now though xx

Well a girl who announced her pg the same weekend we should have been had on facebook about her countdown til her 20w scan :( Mine should have been in the first week of January. Can't believe how quickly its gone, it doesn't seem right :/

Anyway I came on to ask opinions although I think I know what they will be! Basically, me and a close friend who knows we are ttc and she is ttc also (without having a mc), we have started up at the gym again which we used to go to all the time before I got pg, now we've just started again and are due to go to a high intensity exercise class (metafit) on Friday afternoon, but I don't know if I should go due to 2ww? My OH said to go as its so early and not even a definite we are pregnant, but after mc I'm so wary of everything. I think I will end up not going, but would like to hear other's thoughts?

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 09:39

I'd like to say I would go but I'm certain I wouldn't.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/12/2014 09:47

I would go (unless you are not used to exercising like that, in which case now might not be the best time to start).
All advice I've read is that you can carry on with anything you've been doing before which is why I kept cycling both pregnancies (including the one which worked).
If your are pregnant and it is a sticky one which is planning to develop normally, I don't think there is any way in the world an exercise class is going to change that.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 18/12/2014 10:08

Amy, I would like to say I would go to the gym but I understand your concern. Miscarriage makes you so paranoid.

Well I was researching cheapie opks and some women were saying they had to not drink too many fluids, refrain from urinating for four hours and sometimes test twice a day to really pick up their LH surge! This simply isn't practical for me. Added to that they say don't use first morning urine and don't drink caffeinated drinks!

Do you think this is why even my control line is never very dark?

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 18/12/2014 10:10

Sorry pressed post too soon.

I'm using ovia and glow and they both reckon I'm fertile now, had a bit of ewcm. I stopped spotting a week ago and we've dtd seven times Grin I told DH all I want for Christmas is a baby so he's trying his best!

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:41

Thanks everyone. I also read that you can continue any regular exercise you are used to. However, I was so down in the dumps after mc I did nothing but comfort eat and I have piled the weight on! I went to metafit on Saturday morning and I felt so unfit. I'm just going to cancel, I'm sure my friend will understand. I'd rather not have an extra 'what if' if things go down the same route as last time iykwim.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:42

Sorry Snoopy I have no idea about OPKs so can't help there :(

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 10:43

Snoopy it could be that.
I use the cb digi opks and haven't had any trouble despite drinking a lot of water.

StockingFullOfCoal · 18/12/2014 10:49

snoopy Thats got to be the best Christmas present he's ever given - totally free and he gets to have lots of sex! Xmas Grin

amy I'm currently about a stone over what I usually am, don't like it but I just have zero motivation! I want to get back into my Pilates DVDs to build core strength back up.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:56

Stocking I'm a stone over too! And I still needed to lose more weight then! I'm hoping I can worry about weight after I have a healthy pregnancy.. I'm not too much overweight, although it would be nice to be in the best health for getting pg!

Luckily my OH has just told me my MIL has arranged a meal for the family for after I finish work tomorrow so that rules me out of metafit anyway! :) So the only thing to worry about now is how to get around 'no drinking' over Christmas starting from Saturday! Hmm..

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 10:57

By 'get around' I mean explaining why I'm not drinking! (worded badly sorry!)

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 11:14

Water infection Amyyy?
That'll get you out of 7 days drinking.

I'm doing ok, lost a stone since the start of the year but I am overweight so need to lose another stone really. That's for next year though!

Gr33dyeggs · 18/12/2014 11:15

Morning all. The age gap bothered me too. I always wanted more than 1 child as I have found being an only one lonely. Initially we wanted close ages but due to DS poor sleeping and financial uncertainties we put it off. Felt we could manage now and despite OH never being bothered about another he had finally agreed to TTC. There will be nearly 7 years the way its going and I'm wavering again now as to whether it is the right thing to do.

amyyy glad you have a valid excuse not to exercise now!

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 11:16

I'd go for it gr33dy, my DH and his brother are exactly 5 years apart but they are incredibly close.

northdownmummy · 18/12/2014 11:17

amy and stocking your in good company with the extra weight. I put on about a stone while pregnant then probably another one in the 4 months since mc. I'd lost a lot of weight on 2013 so have been thinking about why I've struggled so much to get this under control.
Comfort eating is a big part but I've realised there's something a bit deeper going on with me. While pregnant and breastfeeding I was brilliant about my diet, so that was 18 months. Then I did slimming world to lose 3+stone.

If I don't have a baby in my belly then I'm damned well going to have all the lovely things I've been denying myself for the past 3years

Gr33dyeggs · 18/12/2014 11:20

Update on complaints meeting.
The hospital admit they should offer scanning but don't have the staff or facilities currently. We should have been informed of the wait. We should have not been told to go back to a and e on Monday - they should have got us an appointment either there or another hospital. New staff not knowing protocols. Poor excuse. They say they are making improvements. I hope I never have to see if they do.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 11:23

Treacle That's a good one! I hope my face can keep it together I'm terrible at lying!!

Greedy Me too! :D I'm terribly unmotivated lately.. or lazy!

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 11:25

North I had terrible ms and lost half a stone whilst pregnant so gutted to have put that and a lot more back on! :( I'm really struggling to control my eating too yet I was doing so well... last year I lost 3 stone on slimming world, Joined back up early this year and just couldn't stick to plan!

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 11:27

I tend to get a lot of water infections so it's expected for me :p I don't even need t say I'm on antibiotics I can just say I think I'm getting an infection and everyone leaves me alone knowing how poorly ive been :p

North I think that's how I feel about eating too. I lost a stone before getting pregnant and look what happened.

Amyyy27 · 18/12/2014 12:04

Aww Treacle! I bet that comes in handy but its a shame you've had to be so poorly to get that excuse! I've just been practising to myself what I would say and I keep grinning every time I think 'Oh no not for me I have a water infection!' haha I am so bad at lying. Its not so funny though my OH will go mad if I let it slip that theres even a possibility nevermind if we actually do get pg! He doesn't want anyone to find out until 12 weeks, which I totally understand (Torture - I can't keep secrets!)

Its probably too early for symptom spotting but I can't help it! I will only be 4dpo but yesterday and today I've been so bloated and gassy (sorry!) and have this overwhelming feeling of protecting my tummy. I know that's probably natural after mc so I'm trying really hard not to look into it!

Treaclepie19 · 18/12/2014 12:07

Haha aww Amyyy, see were the opposite. We needed a lot of support from our families when I miscarried so we would tell them stright away this time.

chasingtherainbow · 18/12/2014 12:15

My husbands family really rallied around when we mc so I think we'd tell straight away again incase

Glad you got out of crazyfitnessclass-!

I'm almost 5 St overweight. I've gained it steadily over the past 2 years. It hurts my heart but I can't seem to get it under control. I will though. I will. I need to for a healthy baby.

Always go the antibiotics route with a reason for not drinking, its well known that drinking whilst on them is bad very very bad oh the vomit, vomit everywhere and people generally accept this.

My horrid vice is smoking Blush have never smoked when PG - stopped immediately with each BFP - and have always ended up smoking again much to my shame which is ridiculous because I've spent the majority of the last decade as an ex/non smoker rather than a smoker - don't smoke in the house or around the kids etc. Thats whats given me away in early pregnancy each time.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/12/2014 12:42

I'm about a stone over my happy weight too. A positive by product of the mc was a total loss of appetite which led to stopping half a stone. But my appetite came back and so did the half stone. Oh well. Dieting makes me miserable and I've had enough misery this last month to last me a lifetime.
