Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Hi all! How is everybody doing?

Welcome Heyhey and best of luck! Xmas Grin

CD2 here....yawn!!!!

Shnickyshnackers · 13/12/2014 21:28

I'm jumping on board (over from the December bus). TTC 3# cycle 2, I'm 33. CD 3. I have long 35 day cycles, so I just need to figure out an estimated o day. I will plug my numbers into a couple of online calculators. I don't temp or opk (yet).

It took 6 months to fall pregnant the first time and 1 try (literally) with number 2. Who knows how long this one will take!! I wish I could feel a bit more patient, but pmt is raging away here!!

letsdothisthing · 13/12/2014 23:36

Hey guys ... So onto Day 41 of wtf cycle today! AF better hurry up or I'll be straight on to the Feb bus at this rate :-(

Nervous83 · 14/12/2014 00:10

Just had a bfp for OV so feeling very happy about getting serious in Jan ladies! Positive vibes please 2015 is going to be good for us all xx

ImGoingForATwix · 14/12/2014 10:43

That's AF packed her merry bags (fx I don't see her for a long time again!) so operation TTC will commence this week. Never used opks with dc1 and only on cycle 2 trying for dc2, but wondering if it's worth getting some? Do they really work? I thought I was on a regular 31 day cycle but having actually calculated it based on an average over the past 6 months, it's closer to 29 days. Plus, I stopped bf dc1 last month so wondering if that may effect things (have had AF back since 9 months postpartum though).

nicelyneurotic · 14/12/2014 11:39

Hi, mind if I hop on too?

I'm 31. Ttc #2, cycle 2.

But sad I've missed out on a summer baby for next year but beggars can't be choosers (I'll be thrilled if I get any baby at all!)

Learned so much from the last bus. We only DTD twice last cycle and thought that would do the trick - I was wrong...

Hoping for a BFP mid-Jan or soon after.

Good luck to all!

Treaclepie19 · 14/12/2014 15:59

Hi all, I'm back as af arrived :(

Stats are:
Treaclepie19, 24, ttc #1, cycle 12 (mc cycle 4) bfp due 9th Jan

fififolle · 14/12/2014 19:09

Hi, I'm hopping over from the Dec bus.
I had a MMC in October and an ERPC at the end of October.
My wtf cycle ended with a light AF mid November. I though that we'd be able to conceive quickly but it seems that my body is still recovering. AF arrived in style on Friday so it's looking like things are back to normal.
My stats: Fififolle 37 TTC#2 cycle 3 post MMC. BFP due 9th Jan.
I've bought vit b6 and will also take EPO up to ov.
I will be using the CB digi OPKs again. They did the trick in August in the first cycle that I used them.

pocopearl · 14/12/2014 20:31

What is everyone doing to get bfp jan? Im throwing everything at it and hoping something will stick (pref a bean)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 14/12/2014 21:07

Hello, can I join and sit quietly at the back until I figure out what's going down there?

My story is 29 years old, trying for number 1, I guess this is technically cycle 2. I stopped the pill in September, got a bfp beginning of October and sadly had a MMC that ended with an erpc in 1st December (absolutely gutted, would have been a honeymoon baby).

I'm desperate to be pregnant again. I have no idea how long my cycles are (was on the pill since 16) or where to start with opks etc. I stopped bleeding on the 11th, been dtd every day since then, last time just dtd every other day and it worked.

Anyhow, I know I'm unlikely to have a bfp for Christmas but maybe New Years? It's the only thing I want Sad

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 14/12/2014 21:11

Oh forgot to add I hve hypothyroidism so I'm taking meds for that. I'm waiting to see if I have thyroid antibodies.

I'm taking pregnacare conception, extra folic acid, omega threes and selenium from Brewers yeast

nightandthelight · 14/12/2014 22:06

DH suddenly having cold feet, is this normal or a sign that he isn't ready? I am the one who wants children now (he definitely wants children although isn't in such a rush, he is two and a half years younger than me). However I have been waiting for him to feel more confident and this autumn he really seemed to be all tight with it and completely voluntarily agreed to start TTC.

He has seemed quite excited, sometimes saying how much he can't wait but then he suddenly has all these doubts. He can't explain what they are just says that he feels we aren't being sensible.

He has given his word that we can try when I want and he is the type of guy who will never go back on their word. I also know that the moment I said I was pregnant I would never hear a doubting word again and he would be an awesome hands on father. But I don't want to force him into that if he isn't happy.

I guess I'm just wondering if other people have had similar problems with their partners and if so do you have any advice?

spamanderson · 14/12/2014 23:26

Hello new passengers :) sorry to the ones kicked off the December bus. Blooming AF!
Oh no letsdo hope silly AF appears very soon and disappears again for Christmas!
schnicky if you have silly cycles (mine are awkward. Normally 29 days and ovulate on day 19 but last cycle I ovulated on day 19 as usual but AF arrived5 days early!) I would recommend using an app like Glow or Ovia and temping if you can to get an idea if your fertile days. I temp, use opks and the Glow app, that's how I found out I ovulate late into my cycle.
Yay nervous that's fab! Feeling a little more relaxed now?
twix I would recommend the sticks, I use ebay cheapies so I now know I ov on cd19. I got 30 for £3 so you don't feel guilty about using 1 or 2 a day for your first cycle or 2!
Hi neurotic! Sorry you're not getting your summer baby, but from experience, I've got to say later in the year babies are easier, school wise at least :) I have a July and a September :)
poco we're TTC #3 and going all out this time as DH has had a vasectomy reversal so our chances are much lower this time :( I'm using ov sticks, temping, using the Glow app, I'm taking seven seas 'trying for a baby' pills and DH is taking wellman conception pills too :)
Sorry to hear that snoopy best of luck for this cycle. X
I don't really have any advice night but I can tell you my DH was completely against having children, swore he never wanted them and wouldn't ever have one. I dreaded telling him I was pregnant with dd1 but he was so chuffed I could see he was shocked he was pleased. The next day he was telling everyone!

spamanderson · 14/12/2014 23:33

melon not too bad thank you, and you?
DH appears to be healing well, he's back to work tomorrow :( it's going to be very strange without him here getting under my feet and ringing his bell for service Wink We can officially start trying on Thursday though!
I'm still going to have company as dd1 has come down with the horrible d&v bug tonight so no school for her until at least Wednesday which is great for her already bad attendance :/ (she suffers with tonsilitis a lot so has 83% attendance :/ she had the hospital yesterday though and they've agreed her throat is really bad and she'll be having the tonsils and adenoids out in a couple of months! Yippee!)

Will your husband be tested to check the op went well Spam?

DizzyNorthernBird · 15/12/2014 10:43

Morning!

Can I have a seat please as I'm 99% sure I'm off the dec bus. 'twas my first time trying and I'm pretty sure I've either not ovulated or got my timings totally wrong. Hey ho! Xmas Hmm

DizzyNorthernBird, 35, ttc#1 cycle #2. Bfp due...actually won't be until 4th feb due to long cycle length but will loiter here for tww!!

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/12/2014 11:12

Night, really sorry to hear that your DH has cold feet. Mine is much less involved and obsessive than I am (would be impossible to be more obsessive). Can you get to the bottom of his issues? What's the root cause? Has he a specific issue?

nightandthelight · 15/12/2014 11:26

Thanks hairstylist. We have spent the last year talking about when to have children and we have dealt with every issue that he has raised (money, house etc) all of which have been completely reasonable. Now he is saying that it is just a feeling but can't say why which makes it very hard to rationally discuss!

To be fair having slept on it he seems to be back on board and I know that he will be excited once it happens. I think that part of the problem is that he keeps forgetting that it takes a while to make a baby! In his head he sees the baby arriving in January rather than us starting to try in January. Keep trying to remind him that it can take months to conceive and then you obviously have 9 months of pregnancy so we are probably talking at least a year from now.

Thanks for the support ladies, have got myself so excited that the thought of having to postpone was very upsetting. Hopefully I will still be keeping my seat on this bus though!

Quietlyhopeful81 · 15/12/2014 11:31

Morning all.

Just been kicked off the December bus after af arrived 2 days late (how dare she give false hope!) Had an amazing weekend though, so feeling positive.

Stats are: Quietlyhopeful81, 33, ttc #2, cycle 5

Uninformed first two cycles meant we have no idea if we dtd anywhere near the right times. Cycle 3 was a rough guess, Cycle 4 was my first month of temping and we used preseed. Considering using soy along with epo til ov and preseed this cycle. Fingers crossed for everyone!! Smile

TinyWishes · 15/12/2014 11:32

Night - my DH got cold feet in September. We spoke about it and his reasons (financial) I thought about things and they made sense to wait, so we started to save, I think he wanted to see how serious I was - meaning, if I can save for it - I really want it! Hope that makes sense!

I did some sums anyway and showed him, and seeing how we would afford it (and I would be going back to full time work afterwards) really helped him 'see' we would be okay.

Nervous83 · 15/12/2014 11:39

Morning All!
Yes Spam, think I'm a lot more relaxed now. Seeing the double red line showing that all is in working order after 15 years of BC is a relief. However, think I might technically be in a TWW? If we DTD 9,10 & 14 and I OV on 13?
Glad to hear healing is going well and that your dd has an appointment.
Welcome all newbies!
I definitely recommend how easy and cheap the Amazon OPKs are. I have been taking folic acid for the last 2 months and have bought some seven seas trying for a baby to start on when these run out.
We are moving house into our 'forever home' middle of next month so will definitely have enough to keep my mind busy for sure.

DizzyNorthernBird · 15/12/2014 11:45

night I would have said it's totally normal for a bloke to get cold feet about such a big commitment. They aren't driven by biological urges like us ladies! It's probably the fear of giving up life as he knows it and fear of the unknown! hell I sometimes have moments like that myself too!!

You say he's a man of his word - I personally would be looking for some reassurance that he isn't just going along with your plans to ttc because he's already given you the green light....the last thing you'll need is him having a wibble emotionally when it's already too late. But I appreciate this might be easier said than done.

I also had to have the money talk before I got my DP fully on board, but he spent three years getting divorced which obviously caused financial difficulties, so I could understand him being extra cautious. He also already has 2 kids from his prev relationship and had told me he wasn't bothered about having more. I was obviously a bit worried about this but then I caught him surfing the John Lewis website looking at nursery furniture, which was all the reassurance I needed that we are on the same page.

DizzyNorthernBird · 15/12/2014 11:47

tiny I also had to do the sums to prove we could manage! What is it with these blokes being so sensible?! I wish mine would apply the same logic when it comes to his cars

spamanderson · 15/12/2014 11:49

Hi schnicky yeah he's due to hear back from the hospital in a couple of months i believe so he'll have to go do a sample ( he's reaaaally looking forward to that.... Not!) when they cut one side they found sperm there and said that is the best outcome they can get during the surgery. The other side was quiche badly damaged and had no signs but there's still a chance that one will sort itself out as it heals. Fingers crossed we have something coming through as it means we can still work with that ha ha! We're starting TTC on Friday. Stupid me was thinking Thursday :( the surgery can reheal itself after surgery so we're going to try straight away and hope there's something there rather than wasted couple of months just in case. I need my 3rd baby :)
