Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Morning all. Sorry to hear you've been through such a rough journey sasha. Let's hope 2015 is a wonderfully successful year for all of us.
I'm still experiencing the joy of AF. I will buy some cheap opks later, I did use some for the last month or so but had wondered about upgrading to expensive ones - doesn't sound like everyone else does so I don't need worry that I'm missing a trick.

Been a long time lurker on these kind of threads and decided to join last month for some support. I have a son who'll be 11 on thursday and currently trying for #2 with my partner of 5yrs. Been on microgynon since my son was born so fully expecting to be trying for a while! C'mon the BFP's!!

melon I'm getting quite impatient just waiting! DH had his vasectomy 5 years ago when dd2 was just 4 months old, even though I wanted a 3rd. He had major issues bonding with her so I understand his wanting to, but least the pain of this reversal has taught him to think before he makes major decisions (and to maybe accept that I'm always right Wink ). I Feel like I've been waiting 5 years to TTC now so another 10 days shouldn't be so bad... But my goodness it's dragging!
Hi twix and booboo welcome to the bus :) and totally have a nice tipple at Christmas twix I found out with dd1 6 days before Christmas and dd2 a week before my wedding, 2 weeks before my birthday and month a month before Christmas hmpf :( no pate or booze, booo ;)
Good luck for a BFP next week, booboo keep us posted!

I'm a bit unsure what to do. My fertile window is really close to New Years Eve (ends on the 29th) so if we try then I think I won't want to have a drink at New Year which ideally I'd like to be our last one as a twosome so kinda want to celebrate.

I think I'm deciding that I'm going to start ttc in Jan.

OH is just all "yeh, whatever you want". He's kinda not interested - although like that about everything until it's actually happening - (i.e no interest in the wedding till the month before then sprang into action and was really helpful.) So I'm not cross at him but I do feel like i'd like his input. Which is stupid as I've got his input really - he doesn't mind !

Sorry rambling a bit! I also know the answer is "do what I feel is right" so I don't really know what in asking you guys about it for!? Lol

I think I'm getting off the bus. But I think I need a push... Lol!

Thank you HairStylisttoBoris! I totally didn't see the other pages when I first found this thread. Sorry ladies!
I'm 31 at the weekend TTC#1 but will be hubby's 3rd from previous. Stopped taking BC on 24/11 and got BFN on first OPK so trying to see what my body does hoping to join you all on the Jan bus! Think I'm a little excited too, but can't talk to anyone about it.

I'm using my apps but am resisting OPKs in case there's a long road ahead, don't want to go crazy right from the word go! Juat dtd every other day then every day during fertile week I reckon?!

Hairstylisttoboris · 09/12/2014 20:33

Melon I envy you if you guys have the energy to keep that routine up! Good for you! I have to be slightly more targeted with DH, as much as we would love to dtd more routinely energy doesn't allow us. But definitely all the best advice seems to be just to have regular sex.

Nervous - you can talk to us :) for me this site has really helped me learn and share in a way I just can't in real life with anyone else.

melon I've gone crazy from the outset :/ I'm so determined for it to happen quickly this time (I feel ancient now since having my 1st at 21!) we DTD most days when trying for dd2 but the plan this time is every other day other than my more fertile days (day 12-21 for me apparently! Days 14-21 being the most fertile) where it's hopefully every day or 2 out of every 3 if we need a rest ha ha! I'm doing opks and using my apps. I'm charting my temps and hubby and I are taking prenatal vitamins :) I'm going to be PregZilla..... Again!
Ha ha thanks booboo my friend growing up nicknamed me it, blonde, big boobs (and once upon a time..) quite slender. These days I'm less bay watch, more beached whale ;)

hairstylist my DH is the type whose happy with DTD once a month, maybe twice if I'm lucky :/ that's why I love TTC-ing so much as it's the only time I get a decent amount of nookie! Strangely enough when we're trying he doesn't dare try the old 'I'm too tired/I've eaten too much/I haven't showered' excuses!
nervous please don't be nervous! We're all in the same boat, all of us have either tried for babies or are trying for babies now. You can ask tmi questions on here that you'd be too shy to ask friends etc. it's a good place to go a bit crazy too and have a natter with other people who are feeling the same things as you :)

Spam you are a bad influence I've put OPKs on my shopping list for when I go into town tomorrow Confused

Thank you ladies! It's a weird one, I just feel like there is an expectation with friends and family as we got married in June. Atleast if I'm not talking about it with them in my head there is less pressure. Does that make sense? Since coming off the pill I feel like a teenager again so making the most of DTD while we want and trying to enjoy it, although I am getting obsessed with Ovia. Apparently my fertile window starts tomorrow so we shall see... :-) OPKs are defo addictive...I've just ordered cheapies off amazon as read a few threads and they seem to be just as reliable?

Ha ha melon! I bought a few sperm friendly lubes for just that reason :/ I looked at preseed but it was quite pricey. But boots do one that they have on offer sometimes. It's £13 a tube/spray but I got them when they were half price.

www.boots.com/en/Balance-Activ-Conceive-Fertility-Spray-20ml_1325430/

vickyors don't worry about it! I'm not really a fan of the acronyms anyway :) there's a couple that are helpful but after that I find myself taking ages to think about what it means! You'll get AF which is your period, DTD = did the deed/doing the deed etc, TTC is obviously trying to conceive. Then DP is dear partner, DH is dear husband, dd is dear daughter, ds is dear son... Opk is ovulation predictor kits (ie ovulation sticks and whatnot)
But don't worry it's only in the AIBU forum where people would mind the lack of acronyms! (It's where lots of the grumpy people hide Wink )

Can i have a seat please? I think I'm probably out for December, but we'll be starting to try anyway this month (nothing wrong with a little warm-up, right??). We've got 15 month old twins, which has put a slight damper on our love life lately as we've been a bit knackered, so getting into the swing of things should be fun!

I know, I know, we're mad...
