Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Congrats kilted!

squiish · 02/01/2015 19:26

Congrats spam and maths and WOW kilted that was a nice surprise GrinFlowers
Got a smiley today on the OPK, stupidly happy that it showed up on a reasonable date (CD15) DTD last night, will again tonight & 2mrw - fingers well and truly crossed for a BFP at the end of the month!!!
sparkly do you know if you're meant to take B6 throughout the whole cycle?

Hairstylisttoboris · 02/01/2015 19:34

I'm on CD4 here (yawn) but seeing the recent BFPs I'm getting excited about this month :)

Random question do any of you ladies use OPKs at work? I don't get home till 8.30 ish which is a bit late to test but haven't figured out how to test at work...

ninjabeer · 02/01/2015 19:36

Rainy I say give it a go!

ShootTheMoon · 02/01/2015 19:38

Kilted that's stupendous news GrinGrin congratulations!!

kiltedsheep · 02/01/2015 19:39

thanks so much, everyone! Smile

Sammylou, according to the Clue app I use on my phone, my af was due on the 29th, and the 'spotting' appeared on the evening of the 28th. I was 99% sure that it was my period and did 2 tests on the 29th just to confirm - and the tests said I wasn't pregnant, so I figured my ship had sailed. Thankfully, I was wrong!

Rainy34 · 02/01/2015 19:43

Congratulations kilted so pleased for you!!!

Pigriver · 02/01/2015 19:49

Is anyone using Ovia fertility tracker? It said to do preg test on New Year's Eve which I didn't as I was getting some v light brown spotting so thought AF was on the way. Fast forward 3 days and still no AF. BFN yesterday.
So my question is, should my AF have arrived on 31st or does Ovia tell you to test a certain number of days post ov?
I ask because my phone is now broken And I can remember when my last AF was!
Resisting the urge not to POAS every 2 mins!

thenailgirl · 02/01/2015 20:03

Congrats maths and kilted :) Grin
I ordered the cheap preg tests last week so if theyr here il test tomorrow (5 days early) and probably every day till af arrives lol. Far too impatient x

Hairstylisttoboris · 02/01/2015 20:10

Pigriver - I use Ovia, it tells me to test the day af is due. Sounds like you should test again :) good luck

Sparkly123 · 02/01/2015 20:58

kilted wow!!! Congrats !! Amazing news!!! Very pleased for you! Is this cycle 4 for you?!

cariad yep sounds pretty similar pattern! So you are obviously not worried about dtd too many days in the row.. My husbands GP told him doing it too much reduced sperm quality?! So I was bit concerned but I'm going with it!!! May try and do tomorrow and then Monday.. Come on September Babies!!! My smiles were yesterday and today when I tested too.. Does that mean I should OV today??

Sparkly123 · 02/01/2015 21:00

squiish sorry I'm not too sure about b6? Did you maybe get me confused with someone else's post?! Sorry I can't help!! Blush

sparklysnowflake · 02/01/2015 21:15

Jumping on the bus, I'm ttc #1, first cycle of trying after coming off the pill. CD27 at the moment, but think I ovulated around CD21/22 (only judging by EWCM as I ran out of ovulation sticks halfway through the month!). AF due on Sunday, so crossing fingers and toes. Did test today as my cheap internet tests arrived (my excuse was that I needed to see how I worked...) and got BFN.

Trying not to symptom spot, but I've had a weird cramping on the left side today which feels different to period pains... We'll see though, pretty sure I'm just noticing every ache and pain now!!

Cariad2014 · 02/01/2015 21:20

Sparkly - Re: dtd every day v. every other day, from what I understand if your DH has a normal sperm count then every day should be fine, but if it's lower, every other day is advisable.

Tbh I think it's a bit of trial and error. Having been on these buses for a while (the joy!) I've seen people get BFPs after a handful of well timed dtd sessions and others get BFPs after dtdathons of epic proportions.

The two months I've managed a BFP we actually dtd far less than usual (twice on the day of ov first time round and twice the day before ov and once the day of ov the second time round). This hasn't stopped us dtd every day this time round but if we're not successful we might try EOD next month. My problem is that I get so concerned that if we don't dtd enough we might miss ov.

I'm fairly confident (having temped for a couple of months) that I ov on my second day of constant smileys, but I don't know whether everyone is the same.

squiish · 02/01/2015 21:29

Whoops sorry sparkly I did get mixed up, but thanks for pointing it out!! If anyone else knows about B6 feel free to jump in! BlushGrin ...

Cariad2014 · 02/01/2015 21:33

P.s. Sparkly - I should add that the NHS guidance suggests that you should dtd EOD when ttc, and tbh I'm sure this should be sufficient - if only I wasn't so impatient to get my BFP!

Blue500 · 02/01/2015 21:38

Congrats to the new Bfp's.Smile

Kilted wow what a turn around Grin can I ask have you had any symptoms the last few days? That's my dream to be pg and not even realise!! Lol

Sparkly123 · 02/01/2015 21:38

No worries squiish sorry I'm no help to you!

cariad ah ok I see thanks for info!! Guess like you say- trial and error! I temp but they are quite erratic I can't seem to make sense of it all to help me establish def OV day. First two cycles we did only two days around OV -not successful. Last month we did 4 days before OV- not successful. So this cycle (no 4) I feel a bit like that- doing it all the time as don't want to miss a potential chance!! Ha. Husband sperm count fine, that was checked so that's a relief, just need to hope that we havent overdone it!-Don't see how you can to be honest!!! Ha. So prob Tomor and Monday for us then the lovely TWW begins......!!!!! Sorry to hear you have been on the buses a while and sending positive vibes to you for a BFP you are clearly overdue!!

sparklysnowflake hi!! Another sparkler to add to the bus! Wink wishing you lots of luck for this cycle... Symptom spotting is so hard!! But I think fairly natural. Everyone here in the same boat so moan/obsess away! Hopefully your BFN was just too early! Fingers crossed Grin

Sparkly123 · 02/01/2015 21:41

Cariad yes I know re NHS.. However they also told me that EVERY woman always OV on day 14.... ShockSo I just wondered what everyone else was thinking! But yeh you are right it prob is sufficient! Maybe I should miss tomorrow but I feel it's a key day if it's day after OV !! Ahhh Confused

tessiegirl · 02/01/2015 21:50

Huge congratulations Spam, Maths and 'Kilted*! What lovely news to start the new year with! Smile

Yes Sparkly I know I ovulate on the second of my two peak days on CB dual hormone as I get a temp rise the following day so have ovulated the day before that rise.

We dtd for the last time this morning according to smep...shall wait and see now!!

Cariad2014 · 02/01/2015 21:54

Sparkly - the book I'm currently reading does suggest that your husband's GP may be right in that it does take more than 24 (and indeed 48 hours) for sperm to regenerate, so if you dtd every day as opposed to EOD it is probably likely that there will be less conception quality sperm. However, I doubt this would be a complete bar to conception.

Boosk · 02/01/2015 21:55

Awesome news kilted, what a wonderful surprise and a great start to the new year for you.

hair I've used ic opks at work, pee straight on them (rather than dip in a cup) and chuck them in the sanitary bin when done with.

Dozygirl · 02/01/2015 21:58

Just popping on to congratulate the bfps so far. What a great start to 2015.
Spam I had pink spotting for a few days before my bfp which was different to my normal period but I still hadn't expected it to be a bfp.

Keeping my eye on all you other lovely ladies. Best of luck

kiltedsheep · 02/01/2015 22:13

I'm trying to send out BFP vibes to everyone! Hopefully there will be more of us getting great news in early 2015.

Sparkly - yes, this is cycle 4 for me, but I was flying blind before starting to read up on ovulation, fertile periods etc 2 months ago. even though I'd read the NHS advice on DTD EOD, DH and I actually DTD 4 days in a row around ov in December. We were just really worried about missing the boat, even if that meant risking the quality of his swimmers.

Blue - I had actually noticed two days ago that my boobs were really tender but just assumed that this was due to sleeping on my front. No other symptoms, though.

Sparkly123 · 02/01/2015 22:13

Tessie thanks! I have a temp dip the first day of my positive OPK always quite low almost coverline. Today it had risen but only slightly and I got a positive OPK too so I have no idea! Good luck.. The wait behind for you!!

Cariad eeek ok.. Let's hope we haven't overdone it then!!! Maybe I should skip tomorrow...!!! Wonder why the smep plan tells us to do it three days in a row then, kinda contradicts doesn't it?!
