Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Ah ok thanks sparkly, that would make sense actually in my case!

I'm still undecided about whether to use opk's in jan, I'm now leaning even more towards waiting for the first show of ewcm then going for it with DP for 3-4 days. Got ages to wait though, bloody long cycles!

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 18:54

Dizzy last cycle we did every day and I started to wonder if maybe we should have done every other day instead! So hard to know what to do! Sorry your cycles are so long!

beautician ah the dreaded Xmas bug... Exactly how I feel right now and I'm due fertile time in next couple days Sad not ideal!!! Hope u feel better soon

Nervous83 · 27/12/2014 19:02

Beautician, I think we're close on cycles as Ovia says my window starts on the 5th. Hope you feel better soon!
I don't know how lucky we'll be this month tho as we're moving house in a few weeks so think my mind will be on that...maybe that's a good thing?
I've just started reading Trying to Conceive after a recommendation from another thread, first chapter in which is all about friends and relatives everywhere popping up with bfps when you are struggling. Typically my cousin just confided in me that she is 8 wks pregnant. Of course I'm so happy for her, but I can't help thinking about this being a long road ahead and watching her...

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 19:48

Cariad sorry to hear about your cp and ectopic. Sounds like it's been a tough road this far for you!

Re the positivity etc, I feel I have done that every month this far but my husband thinks I shouldn't be too confident as the disappointment is harder when it doesnt happen. I, on the other hand, think I should just go into every cycle thinking "this is it"! Who knows!
I think from Tomor we will do the AI every other day until I get a CB :) I use cheapies until lines appear then onto CB to confirm. It's cd 9 today however I think it could possibly be 10 not 100% sure when I'm counting from!! Did cheapie this am and found quite a line on it which I'm hoping turns darker in the next couple days when we will hopefully do the AI.. Couldn't do it today if I tried feeling rotten with this cold/flu thing! Good luck with your dtd!! Is CBFM worth the money then in your opinion?

ImGoingForATwix · 27/12/2014 20:16

Hi all, hope you all had a good Christmas. It hit me today how much I want a September baby, when I've been so laid back about it before now. I got pregnant cycle 2 with dc1 so a bit of self inflicted pressure to repeat this.
I think I might know you haribo. Don't panic, not a stalker or a RL connection but I think our dc1's were born on the same bus Smile. If I say that we come from a bus of enablers would that mean anything?! I'm a NC so you won't recognise me from my username.Wink

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 21:00

twix I really wanted a summer baby too. Come on September!! I'm with you! Fingers crossed

tessiegirl · 27/12/2014 21:39

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a lovely time.
CD16 here and got 4th high fertility on CB this morning - come on ovulation!! We DTD earlier and used preseed and softcups for the first time... Xmas Wink

ImGoingForATwix · 27/12/2014 22:41

Fingers crossed sparkly x

I'm not using opks or anything this month but might look into it next time. No usual ovulation symptoms this month so wondering already if this isn't our time. Just DTD every couple of days and hoping for the best. Roll on 5th Jan.

Cariad2014 · 27/12/2014 23:24

Thanks Sparkly. I guess the message from the book is that expecting disappointment every cycle or for every pregnancy to end without a baby won't actually make it easier to deal with if that happens, and that being positive and believing it will happen actually makes it far more likely that you will get a BFP and that you will carry a healthy baby to term.

I like the fact that my CBFM gives me a definitive high and a definitive peak without needing to stress about whether today's line is darker than yesterday's etc. That having been said, my cycles are fairly regular, which is probably why (even in the months I've temped) I've always agreed with the readings it's given me, I do however know some ladies on here who didn't get on with it.

thenailgirl · 28/12/2014 00:11

joining the bus :) not testing ovulation but going by ovia im 1 day past fertile window. tender boobs. cycle 2 for me after coming off the pill. period has returned to normal straight away thankfully. was only one day out, fx for everyone x

loopylou1984 · 28/12/2014 07:44

6 dpo here according to FF so just waiting (in)patiently! X

spamanderson · 28/12/2014 08:52

Sammy I'm 6dpo too :)
I caved and tested this morning as, well, I have a drawer full of tests and an overwhelming desire to PO them all! Ha ha. It was negative BUT when I held it under the light I swear I saw a faintest of faint faint basically not there line. Most likely my desire to see a line but if my period doesn't arrive 29th-2nd, I shall do another test. I think it'd be too easy for us to fall on the 1st cycle but I'm keeping positive :)
sparkly and cariad that's what I'm trying to do, keep positive, it WILL happen and hopefully it'll happen quickly :)

loopylou1984 · 28/12/2014 09:10

Lol Spam - I have 20 tests in the bathroom cupboard but am going to try to hold off from PO them until 4th Jan ??
I think I must have spent a small fortune on things to PO over the last 14 months!
Fingers crossed you fall straight away and don't have time to develop a POAS addiction! X

ShootTheMoon · 28/12/2014 09:14

Welcome nailgirl and hello everyone else, happy holidays!

Have been DTD every day here as we need to make the most of months when DH is home. My FF app shows three days of 'fertile' days then a couple more of 'expected ovulation' days - does that sound about right? Five key days to DTD?

I find it trickier to monitor EWCM when DTD regular for obvious reasons so I'm not quite sure when it will be. Today probably, I think. Smile

Hairstylisttoboris · 28/12/2014 09:51

Well today is the first day I could test - bfn. no idea why I tested as I think we missed the chance for an early jan bfp, and bfns are all hard to see. I am grateful to ladies on other conversations who told me about very cheap sticks to PO otherwise this would be an even more expensive new hobby of mine :)

I flicked through face book as I was waiting, loads of new baby pictures bah. I nearly flushed the phone with the test strip! Time to dissapear out for me and distract myself by eating cake.

Hairstylisttoboris · 28/12/2014 09:52

Oh and does anyone else do as I do and fish the tests out of the bin to make sure a few times?!?

spamanderson · 28/12/2014 10:35

hairstylist ha ha yes I do.... Just in case! I listen like its a bfn, over time it might over develop and have a faint line appear so I could kid myself that in a few days there'll be a BFP ;)
Thank goodness I buy the cheapie sticks that way I don't feel guilty POAS every day as they're only like 10p each :)
Right, I'm now off to drink a bottle of wine and have pate on toast while I still can :D we're having a belated Christmas dinner today so last day to really pig out :)

Hey everyone. New to mumsnet and ttc ao hoping to jump on the January bus. Stats erm 35, ttc1, cycle1, cd15... pretty sure ov'd yesterday and dtd the day before ao here goes nothing!

Marmite27 · 28/12/2014 12:44

I'm new to MN, I have been lurking but thought it was time to come out of the shadows.

I got married in March 14, both myself an DH are 34. I has a hissy fit in August and refused to take any more of my pill (Brevinor), DH was well on board, and we're currently in the dreaded 2WW for cycle 4. I'd really like a 2015 baby.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas.

I got a bit fed up earlier this month, I'm currently C4/CD27, 10DPO, but not holding out much hope. We DTD the day before OV, but OH was on his Christmas do the day after (didn't get home until 3am!) and I was on mine the Friday - was fairly drunk when I got in, the room was spinning and I wouldn't that've been able to cope with any action.

I have sore boobs as per last month, and a few cramps on and off, I'm going to test NYE if AF hasn't shone up (date due) but was a day early last month, so may not be required. I feel ok at the mo, still have 3 cycles to catch for a 2015 baby (FX).

Baby dust to all x

spamanderson · 28/12/2014 14:24

Welcome trinity and marmite!
marmite mine was 4 days early last month :( if it does the same again this month, it's due tomorrow but I normally get certain symptoms and none so far, touch wood! Hopefully your journey on the bus is a very short one :) what a way to start 2015, with a BFP on NYE!

nicelyneurotic · 28/12/2014 16:17

Hi everyone and welcome trinity and marmite.

Hairstylist - yes, I do fish them out of the bin Blush
Last month I was sure I was pregnant despite three negative tests. I had implantation pains and my usually regular period was a week late. I was gutted when AF turned up.

If my app is correct I ovulated yesterday so am heading into the 2ww. We used pre seed this time so hopefully managed to make a baby. We only DTD twice though. Not sure if worth doing again in case ovulation is late?

PaddingtonFromPeru · 28/12/2014 17:31

Joining from December bus. Stats:
PaddingtonFromPeru, 38, ttc #2, BFP due 21/22 Jan.

RoseBud2015 · 28/12/2014 17:58

I'm hoping over from the December bus. Back from our amazing Dubai holiday today, still no AF (nice of her not to show up mid-holiday [wink[) and on cd38. Took a IC HPT today and bfn so I'm assuming I'm having another LOOOOOONG cycle.

Please can you add me to the stats?

Rosebud2015, 30, ttc #1, cycle 2, BFP due ???? Not a clue yet!

Sorry to see so many familiar passengers over here Sad. However I'm with you Sparkly - September baby is where its at! Wink x

MrsCrumbtious · 28/12/2014 19:56

11dpo today and metaphorically sitting on my hands not to test again. Had a bfn on Friday but not surprised as its still early?
My cm has dried up today (tmi sorry) so worried AF will be landing on Thursday but had so many possible symptoms: falling asleep during the day, sore boobs and nipples since 1dpo, backache, headache, grumpy, smelling things very strongly etc etc. Going slowly mad and this is only our first month ttc!

Sending you all lots of new year babydust! Xx
