Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Mrsgingerbread, do you take b6 on top of ttc vitamins?
I'm on seven seas and wasn't sure if I could take b6 as there's some in it already.

Tooheys5 · 26/12/2014 13:03

Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday. Af due on 29 for me as well...feel a bit silly but secretly hoping for an early bfp as dtd once or twice during my fertile time. Ill be a bit gutted when af arrives which is ridiculous xx

spamanderson · 26/12/2014 14:03

toohey I think everyone gets a bit gutted when the dastardly AF arrives :( mine is due on the 29th at the earliest so I'm hoping for a possible BFP but I'll only be 9dpo so may be too early for a BFP then anyway :( fingers crossed you get an early BFP :)

Merry Christmas all! Good luck to those of you testing soon! CD4 here - yawn yawn!! Usually ov late, CD20+ so considering soy for maybe the next cycle as left it a bit late this time around from what I have read!! May look for some while shopping tomorrow!

Hairstylisttoboris · 27/12/2014 08:45

Morning ladies I'm going through my 2ww (af due jan 1) no symptoms at all yet, this waiting is a pain. Hope you are all doing ok?

MelonMelon · 27/12/2014 09:03

Morning all. Has everyone got snow where they are? It's so deep here in Derby, we were out making snow angels last night! Im CD7 and waiting for AF to stop, she was a week late and I was so desperate for her to show up, now she won't go away! TTC is such a mixture of emotions

spamanderson · 27/12/2014 09:13

Hi ladies! no snow here thank goodness melon! I can't bear the snow! I agree it's a bloody emotional time isn't it! I'm only on cycle 1 and I'm going nuts already! I'm 5dpo at the mo and as my last cycle was squiffy, I'm not sure when AF is going to turn up. Sometime between 29-2nd jan. Thing is if she's not here in the 29th I'll be POAS like a nutter and she'll happily saunter along on the 2nd :/ I get a few symptoms of my AF being due, I get super thirsty whereas normally I could make a can of drink last me all day, I get itchy etc but none of those so raw. My boobs are achey and my nipples are super sore which is unusual for me so of course my heads going into overdrive :/
I was wondering about soy too lets as my LP is very short, 5-9 days :/ on the plus, I have a short 2ww I suppose. I'm a late ov'er too, cd19/20 :(

Spam it's my birthday on the 29th so POAS and give me some happy news! I love the snow it turns me into such a kid

Hairstylisttoboris · 27/12/2014 09:56

No snow here either on the South coast (but we don't normally get snow unless it's a really bad year) but blooming cold. We are heading out for a winters walk now but ending at a lovely pub, got to love Christmas holidays.

spamanderson · 27/12/2014 10:27

We're in East anglia, just a couple of miles off the coast, just rain here. I'm really hoping we don't get the snow! We've had a couple of frosts though....
I shall do my best melon! If we do fall this cycle, we'll end up with another September baby, rather close to dd1s birthday... She would not share her birthday happily! Am getting a couple of tummy twinges but it's probably all psychosomatic!

Hello all, jumping on the jan bus. Cd48 here for me, AF is 18 days late which has never happened before. Some brown cm but nothing more. Numerous bfn so I'm getting on the jan bus and putting it down to a one off weird cycle! Just want AF to show up now so I can figure out whats going on.

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 12:33

Hi all hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!
Melon think we are cycle buddies ish! Cariad and Victoria Rainy Ninja are you still here too? I am CD 9 today so almost ready for my fertile time... I have a question ladies- I've been in bed over Xmas with horrible bug cold/flu type thing. Will this affect anything for my fertile window in the next few days? I am going to start with OPKs today. We are doing at home AI due to a number of reasons I won't bore you all with and this is cycle 4.
Hope everyone is doing ok sending sending positive thoughts to those in the TWW.

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 12:34

Boobear how confusing?!? Hope something happens soon so you know where you stand. This never happened before??

Blue500 · 27/12/2014 12:38

Hi all

I'm just marking my place on the Jan bus.
Stats are Blue500 32, ttc #1, cycle # 5, bfp due Jan 20th

I'm cd 3 and still in the midst of Xmas cheer ( currently driving to Bath to see DH family for a few days) so I'm trying not to think or obsess about ttc yet. Although I am going to temp this month as I think I keep getting my ov dates wrong. Cb opk failed to pick up ov last month. Plus I'm stopping acupuncture as I think it really messed up my system last month.

So on wards and upwards for 2015 SmileSmile

Boobear1983 · 27/12/2014 13:21

Hi sparkly, nope never happened before! Never been a day late. Although I did only have the implant out in august. My cycles settled right back to normal after 6 weeks though and last two periods showed up on the 9th oct then 10th nov. Nothing since then! I'm putting it down to a delayed effect of the implant. If nothing turns up by around 10th jan I'll go to the docs.

Tooheys5 · 27/12/2014 13:24

Af arrived two days early for me Sad so I am firmly on the January bus. Af/bfp due sometime around 29 January x

MelonMelon · 27/12/2014 14:16

Yey sparkly we can be buddies! I've got 2 apps, ovia says I'm fertile from 4th Jan and Glow says 2nd Jan. Sparkly you're starting OPK on CD10, i was going to too as well but since AF has been longer than usual should I wait?

Cariad2014 · 27/12/2014 14:19

Welcome Toohey and Blue.

Waves at Sparkly, my cycle twin. I really hope this is your cycle. As I understand it, illness can delay ovulation but it's not a given. I had a horrific cold in the run up to ov in November and I'm fairly sure I still ov'd as normal.

Currently reading "Trying to get pregnant (and succeeding)" by Marisa Peer which I would definitely recommend to anyone who has been trying for a while/ who has encountered setbacks along the way and might be feeling a bit negative about the whole ttc experience. It's made me determined to remain positive this cycle. I'm also hoping to invoke the law of sod as I've been invited to a 10 year uni reunion on 19 September which would be very close to my EDD (and therefore hugely inconvenient) if I got upduffed this cycle.

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 14:38

Welcome Blue love the positive attitude!

boo sounds like a good plan! I'm the same never really more than a day late. Fingers crossed something happens for you soon

Welcome toohey hopefully jan brings you a BFP!

Melon Mmm I'm Not too sure re the OPKs. I would still start at 10 to be sure? I spoke to fertility clinic last week as I found the whole OPK/CM don't seem to correlate! They said CM is best to go by as their studies showed OPKs actually showed a delay in detecting the LH surge! So who knows!!

Cariad hi!! Thanks for that. Just wanted to be in best health possible for trying this month as I suffer chronic health problems too, it hits me hard when I pick up colds etc so I was worried it would affect TTC even more! Hopefully not! As we are doing AI I think we will prob start from day 10/11. Last cycle we did every day around OV and I'm wondering whether this month it be better to do every other day so that the sperm quality is better?? Who knows! Trial and error eh. Hoping this month will give us a BFP to start off the new year! Ha- ten year reunion eh! What cycle are you on? Hoping for a BFP for you! Book sounds interesting. Share any tips you learn!!! Wink

Anyone else constantly bombarded with Xmas pregnancy announcements at the moment? They are everywhere ! So happy for each and every one of course.. Just reminds me how much I want the same!

Cariad2014 · 27/12/2014 14:57

Sparkly - I'm on cycle 7, ttc #1 although I had a cp (at just under 5 weeks) on cycle 2 and a ruptured ectopic on cycle 5, which resulted in my right fallopian tube being removed. Technically therefore this is only cycle 2 post ectopic.

Re: EoD v. Every Day, I think it's difficult to tell. The two cycles I managed a BFP we dtd very little (for various reasons) but managed it on the day of ov. Cycles 3,4 and 6 we dtd every day during my fertile period and I didn't manage a BFP, but that may simply have been because my body just wasn't ready.

I got a high on my CBFM this morning, so I reckon we might try and dtd today, rest tomorrow and then dtd every day from Monday onwards (on the assumption that I will ov on Tuesday or Wednesday). If you haven't read it, I would definitely recommend The Sperm Meets Egg Plan which was free on Amazon Kindle a couple of months ago.

I'm only two chapters into my current book but so far it's all about removing mental blocks to conception and a healthy pregnancy. The key message appears to be that it's important to be positive and have confidence that you will get pregnant and that you will see the pregnancy through to term.

Nervous83 · 27/12/2014 14:58

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. No snow here in Kent, just had a crazy hail storm though conveniently whilst out walking the pooch :-) nice and fresh.
AF turned up for me yesterday 2 days early so I guess I can get things moving sooner than I thought! Yippee :-)

Gawjushun · 27/12/2014 16:19

First day of my fertile window, so time to start DTD! Shame I feel like shit from leftover chest infection. Maybe I'll seductively tell DH to hurry it up. Xmas Wink

DizzyNorthernBird · 27/12/2014 17:51

Hi sparkly, that's interesting about the discrepancy between cm & opk, did they give you any idea how long the delay can be? This might explain the confusion I had earlier on this month.

Hope everyone else is well & you've all had a fab week!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 27/12/2014 18:21

Hi ladies sorry to those who have had af arrive over Christmas.

We all got a lovely Christmas present of the flu here. I feel dreadful. Luckily my fertile window is due to start around the 6th so I hope it's all gone by then

Sparkly123 · 27/12/2014 18:25

Hi Dizzy sorry I should have thought of you! Basically.. Tmi coming up!--I was explaining that I didn't understand why I felt I had fertile mucus on the days leading up to the positive OPK but on the actual day of positive I didn't have any. She said that on research studies they have carried out, the data they collected showed while they monitored bloods and urine samples , that the LH surge was often picked up by the Opks about 24hours after it was picked up in the blood which correlates better with what i was saying. Obviously That's just one study, but I am going to make sure I dtd on the lead up to my LH surge as detected by the OPK instead of only on the fertile days it predicts... Just incase!!
