Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Never TTC-ed before, plan to start in January 2015. Have been cycle mapping for six years for entirely contraception oriented reasons, so hopefully six years of memorising my bodily fluids and ovulating twinges will come of some use!

Bought my first ever pregnancy tests today, felt unreal!

Don't know what lies ahead, but hopping on :) also, new to mumsnet, so forgive the lack of acronyms!

December has gotten off to a disappointing start. It seems that DH or I are destined to be ill (taking it in turns). My fertile window started on tues but have only managed to DTD last night as DH hasn't been able to stop sneezing for long enough! I tried to lay with my hips up for a bit but DH kept making me laugh....
I have ovulated today but DH is out with work so will be in ok fit state when he returns. Not holding out much hope.

Hi everyone! I'm hopping over from the Dec bus as sadly AF arrived today! Will be trying again around OV on New Year's Eve and hoping for a January BFP!

pig remember it only takes one sperm ;) tell DH he must be in a useful state when he gets home as it's the most important day today. Least you've got some in there already hopefully about to catch that egg :D
I know our chances are slim, DH only had the op just over 2 weeks ago and we've DTD twice this cycle, but I feel strangely optimistic :) I know it's probably foolish, who knows, maybe it's the Christmas spirit! The surgeon said that one was quite badly damaged and he hopes he's now fixed it.... And tmi, but there seems to be more 'stuff' there than there was so I'm telling myself it's billions of sperm ;)

Pig - I'm feeling the same about our chances. We dtd mon and wed but dh was unwell last night so we couldn't... And I got my first peak fertility result yesterday. We decided to be more relaxed (after 14 cycles it's taking it's toll on sex life) so I didn't tell him about the result. I'm just hoping he's feeling better tonight and that it's not too late. Xx

Hello sparkly - is the nicest possible way, sorry to see you here .

I am currently driving myself nuts! AF was very weird - light spotting for two days (as in, just a tiny bit in the mooncup all day). Then heavy overnight with dark blood (a full cup) and then another 30 hours with thick dark blood. So according to proper AF counting I had two days of bleeding with spotting two days before and one after.

Very unusual for me! But I had tested a day before spotting started with a negative. So I have to assume just a weird AF, right?

Ahhh spinning well ive been trying to keep up but noticed you hadn't been posting much. Did you ov in the end? Such a busy time for everyone isn't it. I'm ok, had our works do last night and felt pretty good to last out until Cinderella time. Still so much Christmassy stuff to do for the dc but we are taking gabriel our youngest to Lapland (in ascot) this afternoon. I hope it's good !

CD9 here...nothing much to report. I babysat my little brother, step brothers/sisters last night so we are all sat in our pjs still with them watching tv whilst I have a look on here for a catch up!

AF finally arrived yesterday afternoon, so I'm officially on CD2. This cycle was longer than anticipated so my stats are now as follows:

Ooh cariad - I learned last month that if AF arrives in the afternoon then it's the next morning that counts as CD1 - the first day that you wake up bleeding. !

Yep that's right blue! Weird isn't it! Spotting doesn't count either which i didn't know until we started ttc-ing this one!

My body is a nightmare, it plays tricks on me all the time, I get preggy symptoms I had with dd1 and dd2 and for the last 3 days I've been craving onions reeeeally bad. Dd2 just tells me 'mummy you stink of onions' :/ thanks lovely daughter!

So my period started, full on heavy, early afternoon of 24th November. Does that mean CD1 is 25th??

Don't feel bad cariad, this will be DC2 for me and I only just found out!

It does make my cycles look a bit more regular, funnily enough.

Although I will confess that I only read that on here - and a quick google indicates that there isn't consensus about this!

Shootthemoon i also read that if your period arrives in the afternoon then you class cd1 the next morning, i only learned that last month , think i read that on the Clearblue website for there fertility tester.

I have went out and bought Boots own conception support tablets instead of the seven seas ones, they have more vitamins in them and are slightly higher dose than seven seas but not as high as Pregnacare ones, which when i tried the Pregnacare tablets did not agree with me, i am also trying the Clearblue fertility monitor which a friend gave me, i was going to try and track my BBT but forgot to take it this morning , i will try and take it tomorrow morning but I'm not very good at remembering !!!

Wow, this CD stuff gets me so confused! I'm relying on an app and wondering whether charting myself would be more reliable.

I'd think, on the counting front, as long as you are consistent yourself in how you count / record it's generally fine to count the way you want to for the purposes of monitoring and managing your own cycle and fertile periods? Or is that to simple of me?
