Just thought I'd get the January bus started! The heaters on, the tunes are turned up and the seats are pretty comfy :)
I know there's a couple of others like myself who won't be POAS until January time so we have a bit of time to get cozy on the bus.
I'm Spam, my hubby is having a reverse vasectomy in a couple of weeks so my earliest hope of a BFP is 4/5th January :)

Thanks...maybe stock up on some cheapy ones for next cycle. I've read a few things saying dtd every second day is best? Something to do with the wee swimmers lol....anyone shed any light on this? Banana I feel silly too asking all these questions when I'm 31...feel like I actually know nothing! But as far as I can see a lot on here are in the same boat...so now I just ask away, no holds barred haha

spamanderson · 18/12/2014 17:20

snoopy my control line is never string either but it gives me an idea, I temp and check cm etc and glow says I'm on my fertile period today too :) DH has been given his orders ha ha!

Snoopy - the cheapie tests are ok, and I've never worried about how frequently I go in the hours before testing. Def don't use fmu though as your natural LH is higher then and you might get a false positive.
I use the clear blue digi. It's quite expensive but much much better... It warns you in the days leading up to your LH surge by giving a flashing smiley face. At this point I switch to the cheapies so I only use 3/4 expensive sticks per cycle. Xx

MrsExtraOrdinary · 18/12/2014 19:51

Evening all, how are you getting on? Everyone set for Christmas? Confused

HariboBrenshnio · 18/12/2014 20:01

snoopy i've never done those things when using OPK's. You don't use the first pee, it says to test between 12 - 8pm so you could just test at lunch time or in the evening. I don't think it matters how dark your test line is, just your LH line.

boo there's tons of different advice. I don't think DTD every day would lower your chances of falling pregnant, it's just not always achievable! I DTD every other day from CD8, test with OPK's from CD10 and when i get a positive OPK (usually CD13) DTD that day, the next day, the next day, skip a day and then one more time. Works out about 8 shags! I fell pregnant the first month of doing that. If you don't want to do OPK's DTD every other day from CD8 - CD25 would probably cover you.

booboobeedoo11 · 18/12/2014 20:20

Thanks haribo Sounds good to me, I just don't want it to end up feeling like a chore for either of us lol. Although we are pretty much every day/second day as it is (most of the time anyway) would just hate to get to the stage where it feels regimented, doubt he would mind either way haha

Hairstylisttoboris · 18/12/2014 20:23

MrsE we have the tree up but no Christmas shopping done yet. Not in the least but ready but not stressing yet!

I'm having a large glass of wine now, tww starts tomorrow I think (but my cycle seems a bit off this month, everything is slower and later than usual). We only managed to drs twice this month so I'm not hopeful. But if I don't get a jan 1 bfp I get a second ride on the bus...
Boo I use cheap Internet opks (and ignor most of the instructions - just don't use first morning wee) they help to know when I'm ovulating and we try to dtd as often as we can in that time - we can't follow a schedule, life is too busy stressful and exhausting. I also monitor my cervical mucus and watch for changes, and start doing the dirty as soon as it gets really wet and then stretchy rather than creamy or lumpy. Good luck.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 18/12/2014 20:25

Hairstylist tree is a very good start. We started wrapping today. My arms have lost all blood and feeling! Grin No where near done. Panicking about food prep Shock

HariboBrenshnio · 18/12/2014 20:26

boo we have a 1 year old DS so DTD, either for TTC or not, has to be regimented. No spontaneous sex here! I think the excitement of TTC can help stop it feeling like a chore. Obviously your doing it for a purpose but it's still enjoyable. DP is happy for it to be regimented if it's regular ;)

Gawjushun · 18/12/2014 20:33

Well, I'm hopping aboard the bus! Been off the pill for a few months to get my cycle back to normal, and the new year seems a good time to start. Already have a DS who's nearly 3 and his conception was a big surprise, so I've never done the whole TTC thing before.

First fertile day according to my app is 27th dec. I think I will be using the app and cheapo fertility sticks to start with. Good luck, and here's to lots of January knocking ups.

toothachereturns · 18/12/2014 20:45

Evening ladies. Just hopping on the bus to day hello and wish y'all a lucky BFP filled January! Smile Smile Smile

FlostyGritter · 18/12/2014 20:47

Hi all! I'm climbing aboard the January bus too if that's ok! BFN this month so going to be trying again around NYE time ready for a hopeful BFP in January!
It's rubbish as I can't even blame the tight clothes on possibly being preggo now, It must be all the mince pies!! Oh dear!
XxX

spamanderson · 19/12/2014 07:54

We DTD last night for the first time this cycle and first time since DHs op :) everything went as it should DH didn't explode as he apparently feared o_0
I forgot how much 'fun' it is to sleep with your bum propped up :/
Morning mrsextra not too bad here thanks, and you? I'm a cake maker so blooming run off my feet this time of year as you can imagine... Today, I am making a horse I frickin hate horses! actually going to attempt getting the pressies wrapped this weekend!
boo our 'Rota' (ha ha) is every day from yesterday, the first day of my fertile period, which ends Xmas eve, then every other day or the occasional every 3 days as it keeps the sperm refreshed :) the Glow app says that DTD every day in your fertile period is best for conception :) says my most important day to DTD is the 22nd which is CD19 for me and the day I should Ov.
haribo DTD can feel a bit of a chore if you think of nothing but TTC can't it, but my attempt to make it less stressful is to make the fertile week the regimented, straight forward missionary or doggy (sorry tmi) and then the other days are our more adventurous days ;)
Hi gawjus tooth and flosty. Ha ha yep it's the mince pies here too definitely not the surplus selection boxes DH brought home. Nope

booboobeedoo11 · 19/12/2014 08:37

haribo don't get me wrong, we're not swinging from the chandeliers haha..we have an 11yr old kicking about the house too so we do have to be quite 'regimented' in that its whenever we have a min lol or send ds out a walk with the dog! Seems its always quickies with us until he's out overnight at his grans!

spam my oh doesnt know he's on a rota yet haha....i'm sure he wouldn't mind tho as long as he's getting some!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 19/12/2014 09:24

Feel bad, we DTD last night even though DH didn't get home from work until midnight, but he wants a baby as much as I do.

Well I my cervix is soft, very high and I think it's open (couldn't find it at first) and I have ewcm. been like this for a couple of days. Put all this into ovia and yesterday it said I was in my fertile period but today it has changed its bloody mind and moved it to New Years! Glow says I'm fertile. I know this is my wtf cycle but wtf?

Oh well just have to keep doing it until something turns up Xmas Wink

ninjabeer · 19/12/2014 09:25

Morning all count me in for the January bus. Looks like a busy one best start reading back.

Ninjabeer 35 ttc #1 cycle 6 BFP due 16th Dec

In the meantime bring on the port and stilton and pate and Christmas cheer.

Treaclepie19 · 19/12/2014 10:54

I've really got good hopes for this cycle. It's the steadiest my temps have been since June! :)

I'm with you on the port Ninja :)

MrsExtraOrdinary · 19/12/2014 13:53

Bringing happy news for those that remember retrohippy! She had a little boy last night. A bit early but he didn't want to wait. Grin

bluewisteria · 19/12/2014 14:47

Hi ladies, I might be on the December bus yet- just got a light positive on first response but a negative on clear blue digital.

Still pretty early in cycle but I'm paranoid as all my mc's never registered on digital.

kissinggiraffe · 19/12/2014 15:24

I'm going to board this bus if I may...af turned up on weds right on cue and kicked me off December's bus.
I was taking a very relaxed Christmas approach to ttc in that cycle so I feel ok about it. Means I can enjoy a few Christmas drinkies Smile

Stats are:
kissinggiraffe 35, ttc #4, cycle 3. bfp due 14 January.

Ov should be around new year so lots of drunk fumbles ahead for me!!

I'm going to read back now to see how everyone is doing.....

kissinggiraffe · 19/12/2014 15:27

bluewisteria that sounds very promising. I'm not a poas expert but from what I've read on here clear blue are no where near as sensitive as first response. I'm sure clear blue will pick something up in a couple of days or so. fx for you. What a wonderful Christmas present!

bluewisteria · 19/12/2014 15:36

I hope so, a sticky bean! Thank you Kissinggiraffe, wishing you a lovely fumbly bfp!

Treaclepie19 · 19/12/2014 17:08

Eek MrsE I hadn't seen that!!! Will come give my congrats :)

Rainy34 · 19/12/2014 19:01
