POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't? 

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Option decorations include photographs of political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Indigo don't lose hope, mine often does that then goes higher the next day and stays high. This cycle I had a random dip at 3dpo as well.

Thanks for the shagging tips everyone, I guess I just need to be aware of how I am coming across and instead of saying something like 'we should shag I suppose' (implying I'm forcing myself) I need to word it differently and say 'I really want to but I'm quite tired, shall we make it a quickie' or something along those lines. And then try the ball grabbing of course haha.

Well done jelly on every other day! We were also until he broke my record last night and now we've missed one, grrrr. But if we do tonight then it will be every other day since CD 9 (today CD22) and then one 3 days, still a helluva lot better than I would usually be!

Might get to pee on my first stick in 10 days or so! Last cycle was 31 days so I might just wait and see if AF shows after similar length of time and if not by 34-35 then might test and see if it's just a long cycle.

indigo no looks like you haven't iced yet. but honestly I wouldn't worry. keep temping. do the opks if you can but they are less reliable. just keep shagging until ff gives you a red line on your chart! when did you stop BC? how many cycles have you had and what is normal cycle length? you don't sound like a child. I temped for nearly 2years and still did exactly what you are doing every cycle. as easy as it is for me to tell you not to worry, I found it hard to follow that advice myself.

bat you're only recently of BC yes? I found it took a while for my drive to return. at first I was useless but after a few months I wanted it much more so it got easier to keep up the regularity if it.

So I came off the combined pill in early July. Cycle length 28 days bar one which was 33 (last one). Think I must be on cycle 5 now? I guess I was relieved that the temping was doing all the "right things" so when the OPKs weren't giving me any joy I felt at least I could rely on the temp thing telling me about icing. Then when I saw the dip this morning I was like nooooo! But from what mountain says maybe this might happen, a random dip. I have been shagging regardless. Re the OPKs, early on, I was getting a very faint line. Since I've been drinking more water, I've been getting zero lines, would this make sense as to maybe why I'm not getting a positive?

I fecking wish it was a preg test! Buuuuttt... This does mean that I am icing later than I thought (at least this cycle), so potentially I've been stopping shagging to early. On cd18 today. How long after you've iced does LH fall enough to not be detected?

have looked at pic now. def +ve. I usually get faint lines tight up til one like that. LH is always present, opks detect the surge that happens around 36hours before ovulation. I've had 2 or 3 cycles where I've had 2 pos opks. but every cycle bar 1 I ovulated the day after the last pos opk. one cycle I ov the say of 2nd opk. so shag today, tomorrow and day after, and hopefully you'll do a la and get upduffed on first attempt at temping!

I didn't do one yesterday so this could actually be day two of a positive. It did need the full 10 mins to develop though, maybe a bit more because I forgot about it. But all the others I've done recently have not developed a second line even when left for hours. Christ, this means if I ice on day 19 or 20 my luteal phase could be pretty tight!

I just did another OPK just to check and the second line is more faint this time. Maybe it's because I'd not long had a wee for the first one?
