AF arrived this morning, CD34. Probably won't be a +ive november for me either as DH is going away for 2 months sometime later this month, so he probably won't be here for my fertile window, but ya never know (in the army the dates for things change all the time, so gotta keep hoping). Will keep using my Persona this month just in case we can fit one or two BDs in at the right time.

Don't worry about me ladies, I'm fine! I punish my PIL in my own way i.e. they see less of us!!

Desperate - lovely to hear from you. Glad you got things patched up, I was worried about you.

Hope none of those AFs arrive this weekend and calling on the rain to drizzle you all with babydust!!

p.s. Bought my knitting needles, wool and pattern today

desperate2bmum · 10/11/2006 14:51

ah thanks girls.

men are so inensitive sometimes. because of our arguments i threw away EVERYTHING ttc related and dumped them all in the bin while he sat watching me and i must admit it has been nice not feeling obssessed.

i was looking at needles and wool in dunelm and even rung my nan to ask what needles tobuy but then walked out because i thougt when i start i will only stop i will never actually finish knitting anything. so am toying with doing some cross stitch to hang on the walls when i do my nursery.

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 15:05

Just posted this on Dec - but as there are more of you to ask on here, can you help?

DH has just been the the consultant about his back because it's been hurting since August. He's been told he has a slipped disc and needs an operation to fix it. I'm really worried about it on so many counts as is he but he is also worried about the recovery time and the impact on TTC. Does anyone know anything about this type of op and recovery times? thank you!

FemaleoftheSpecies · 10/11/2006 15:26

sorry to hear this mrs mc j . what a pain. had a quick google in case you've not had a chance and found {http://www.themediweb.net/orthopaedics/infosheets_html/inpatients/disectomy.htm\this}

FemaleoftheSpecies · 10/11/2006 15:27

Thank you Female, that was really useful and I have printed it off for DH. Looks like its quite a big op - poor DH .

greedyguzzler · 10/11/2006 16:57

mrsmcjr - backs are my trade!!! i am a chiropractor and so therefore backs are my thing! make sure you get a second opinion. was he referred to a consultant by your gp? i have seen LOTS of patients who have been told they have slipped a disc when they havent. it is really important to make sure his diagnosis is correct. do you know which disc? L4 L5? there are lots of different surgery options too depending on what the specifics of the problem are and so the recovery time varies. also, on a positive note, sometimes these things resolve themselves as it is not always a bulging/ slipped disc which causes the neurological sypmtoms. so sometimes the pain goes by itself

bubble78 · 10/11/2006 19:41

well my dad had a prolapsed disc and was due to have surgery this week but his righted itself and he really could not move when it was bad so these thing can right themselves...

FemaleoftheSpecies · 10/11/2006 20:04

mrs mc j... the googling did say that an op is last resort and as greedyguzzler says, (obv she knows lots about this but i'm just quoting google bits), there are lots of things which could be done before an op.. do hope that your gp has thought it through or knows for sure.. but even more i hope that there are alternatives before an op. have a good w'end and i hope it doesnt play havoc with the ttc for you now. good luck :-

greedyguzzler · 10/11/2006 20:32

yeah!!!!!!!! tell him to visit a chiropractor or an osteopath Mrsmcjnr! as long as its a good registered one like me!!!!!!

RachelRose · 10/11/2006 21:20

Wow, Greedy - you sound so professional! Not like the frantic biscuit eater from earlier

So sorry about your DH MrsMc - At least this means he'll get some professional help to sort it out as I remember you saying he had to keep taking pain killers as it was so sore. Poor thing - at least if the recovery is only 4-6 weeks then at the most you'll maybe miss is one cycle.

Desperate - So sorry you've had a rough patch and am so so pleased for you that things are back on track. We lost our second son in December last year, and we battled with things as well. My DH and I were naturally both affected by it but reacted differently. A little time together is whats needed and it looks like its done the trick. Its good to have you back

Good luck with AF staying away Bubble and Ready - My AF is due on Monday - not tested yet and will wait until at least tuesday I think.

Have a good weekend everyone!!! Happy BD-ing Greedy

honeyapple · 10/11/2006 22:07

Hi everyone-
i havent posted for a while. Been kinda quiet at home on the TTC front. Recently started the BDing for this month, i'm on CD12- although DP has just gone to the pub- so dont think i'll be getting much tonight- dont think i want any p**ed sperm anyway. I've started getting a bit CM- wanted to ask those that know- the eggwhite stuff- does this appear pre or post OV ?
Cheers

honeyapple · 10/11/2006 22:26

Hi- dont worry about the last question- just looked it up- oh i wish DH hadnt gone to the pub .

greedyguzzler · 11/11/2006 09:34

hey honeyapple! i am on cd14 today and my dh was working last night and didnt get home till midnight knackered so no BDing for us either! they are inconsiderate arent they? we have only managed once so far on cd11. not looking good! maybe tonight hopefully......im not getting much CM though, just spotting as normal!

greedyguzzler · 11/11/2006 10:09

RR- i am glad you think i sound profesional, i do try when i go into work mode! and then there is the other crazy biscuit eating side to me! not just biscuits either, anything that gets in my way gets eaten! even a pizza that i left in the oven for 20 mins too long last night until it was completely chargrilled! i just smothered it in ketchup and it was lovely!!!!! what a pig!

sideways · 11/11/2006 10:25

Hello everyone, hope you all have a good weekend.

MrsMc - glad your migraine has gone. Sorry to hear about your PIL and your DH's back. Hope it gets better on its own really quickly. You need him!

Ready4 - Hope AF stays away on Sunday. Your MIl is being a bit insensitive too, isn't she. You need to think of a really cutting answer which will shut her up completely (can't think of one though!)

Bubbles 78 and all those expecting AF - hope she stays away

Hi to everyone else trying not to get too obsessed about the 2ww

ready4motherhood · 11/11/2006 12:02

AF arrived just now... full on so what started the day as CD28 will finish as CD1. I knew at 7am this morning when my temp had dropped even more than yesterday to 36.15
BUT! I am going to pop out to the shops and get lots of naughty treats for a slobby evening curled up on the sofa. Soooo... I will be saying au revoir to the November thread, and bonjour to December. Fingers crossed that everyone left on this thread gets their BFP!!!!!!!!! Babydust!!

Firststar - You don't need forgiving for coming on to post all the time... We love reading your posts! If it helps with the 2ww then you do it til your heart's content!

RachelRose - ((hugs)) I had no idea you lost a child and I am so sorry. Reading that gave me a slap in the face about feeling sorry for getting AF. I am sure you will get your BFP soon... you deserve it!!

ready4motherhood · 11/11/2006 12:05

Oops... sideways, almost forgot you... You are so right, I need to think of something cutting to say (in fact I need that a lot about all sorts of comments she makes) but unfortunately I am one of those people that can think of something dry 2 hours later!! At the time I just take the abuse!!

Fingers crossed for you!!!!!!!

Hello ladies and thanks for your support, helps tons as usual .

Greedy - thank you for that info. We will be getting a 2nd opinion. He doesn't have the MRI until next week so I don't know where it is but I'll call upon you if I may when I know. Really appreciate your help

RachelRose and Bubble - monsoons of babydust to you both, it would cheer me up no end if you got your BFPs

Hello to everyone else and babydust to all of you.

crazybird · 11/11/2006 13:17

I was on another thread about a month back asking questions about when your cycle goes back to normal after coming off the pill and had some helpful advice from those of you on here. I'm very happy to say I got a BFP earlier this week which has now been confirmed by my GP and pregnancy symptoms are beginning to kick in!

I was only trying for 3 months so I'm no expert but I just wanted to say that the only thing I did different this month was to bd regularly (every day) later in the cycle. I've heard things on here about only bd every other day but I think it was bd every day that worked. Plus we missed out BD early and mid cycle becasue of work commitments and so BD was every day from CD 14 up to CD 21 (of 28 day cycle). I think before I focused too much on the early part of the cycle. This worked in my case anyway so just wanted to say this in case it applies to someone else.
Best of luck everyone

MrsMcJnr · 11/11/2006 13:30

Oh Crazybird, that is lovely, lovely news, absolutely delighted for you! wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy.

I agree with you by the way about the BDing. I have a 28 day cycle, usually, and know now that I don't OV until CD16-18 so I think I did burn us out a bit the first few cycles by really going for it too early. I'm really going to try and ensure we BD at least 2-3 every week and then as many times as we can around when I OV.

ready4motherhood · 11/11/2006 17:00

Congratulations crazybird! Good on you... any leftover babydust, please see to it that it comes our way All the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy!
