For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones

I will be starting soy isoflavones tomorrow, cd 3.

This will be my 11th cycle TTC, with two chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages @ about 5weeks so far this year already.

I've read up quite a lot on SI, and just at the point now where I'm thinking, what the hell, I'll give it a go!

Anybody else TTC with soy isoflavones?

Oh loopy I hope it isn't AF. You can get light bleeding around the time you would expect your period so don't lose hope just yet.

Great news camry Grin

I am 7dpo today, nothing to suggest implantation although I'm in a terrible mood and DP is convinced it's hormones and it means something!!

Allthefours · 22/11/2014 16:29

I have tried soy for the first time this cycle. I generally have long cycles of varying lengths from 35 to 90 days. I'm not temping or doing OPK so not really sure if I have ovulated at all. I'm currently on CD 32.

I'm not sure if the following is attributed to the soy but I had spotting on CD25 and CD27, very minimal and only when I wiped. Yesterday on CD30 I had more spotting, slightly more than previous but again only when I wiped and nothing since. I did a FRER yesterday (before I was spottig) and was a BFN. I have symptoms of tender bound, occasional nausea and lots of creamy CM (hence the pg test). No idea what's going on, I have never spotted prior to AF arriving but because of my cycles I don't really know when AF will arrive.

It's so frustrating being in limbo. DH and I have DTD pretty much every other day since CD8 with the exception of this week.

I think I have resigned myself that I'm out this month and that the spotting is the start of AF (she had better hurry up if she is coming!!). I guess if AF arrives it confirms that the soy has shortened m cycle considerably which is progress.

Has anyone else experienced unusual Spotting whilst on soy and what were the outcomes? Positive or negative?

I was deRly hoping this month would be our month, I've had 2 MC in the last 5 months and my due date is approaching . . .

LoopyLa · 23/11/2014 07:05

No AF, no BFP - I'm really convinced I'm out this month, it's all very frustrating Angry

I'm keen for AF to arrive so I can get on with the soy for the second month. And maybe start temping too...

BobsyBoo · 23/11/2014 09:53

On 12dpo & day 4 of spotting! Feeling very fed up, I know it's the start of AF so why am I stupid enough to get my hopes up for implantation! There was a lot more this morning when I wiped my body is doing exactly the same as it would before AF. AF should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday 22 cycles down & 2nd cycle of Soy so obviously not working for me, although I may give it one more attempt, if anything with soy at least I get a line on a +OPK whereas before taking soy I never got the hint of a second line on them.

Every cycle I get days of stupid spotting before AF shows her ugly head so annoying!!

NewEraNewMindset · 23/11/2014 12:45

Oh that's a real shame girls Sad

I am 8dpo, still getting creamy cm which is hopeful but had the same up until 8dpo last month and Bfn. Not going to test as it only depresses me so AF should arrive in exactly one weeks time.

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 23/11/2014 14:04

Afternoon all. I also get about 4 days of spotting before full flow of AF and have Abernathy counting this as AF and so CD1. I get the impression from comments here that's not the right thing. Should be counting CD1 as the first full day I AF? If so that would give me an earlier ov and much better length LP which would be great but gives me a different worry about the spotting which can be good for implantation??

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 23/11/2014 14:06

I'm not sure how auto correct has got 'Abernathy' from 'been'?!? I should really start previewing my posts!!! Blush

NewEraNewMindset · 23/11/2014 14:22

Yep, CD1 is first day of full flow. Spotting before AF can be an indication of low Progesterone but I know for some people it's just normal.

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 23/11/2014 14:54

I did a frer yesterday morning at 12dpo but bfn. Think I'm out Sad

No sign of af yet though.

Fx for you new. Sorry you are feeling shitty bobsy. This ttc lark is so frustrating.

I'm on cd6 and have taken 100mg soy every night once cd3. I've not had a migraine again, so that's an improvement on last time. Will see how I feel tomorrow and if all is fine will take 150 for the last dose.

Have spent all weekend reading Toni weschler. Very informative, but the constant references to ladies over 35 being 'geriatric' has left me feeling a bit crap.

BobsyBoo · 23/11/2014 17:38

GoodEgg I used to think first day of spotting was first day of AF.

NewEra I didn't know that about spotting being a sign of low progesterone, I've spotted before AF for as long as I can remember.

Thanks Frolic yeah it sure is just wish I could get off this emotional roller coaster now!

I'd best not read Toni Welcher then as that would really upset me as I'm 38 & already worrying my age is the problem. I have a book call Trying to get pregnant (and succeeding) by Marisa Peers, it's about using positive thinking to get pregnant it has some interesting stories in of people getting pregnant against the odds and also people getting pregnant in their 40's. My problem with the book is getting myself in a positive frame of mind, I can do it sometimes but other times I feel so down & think I'll never have another baby so not great positive thinking!

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 07:03

Gah! I'm 13dpo today & POAS just for the hell of it as I was convinced I'm out and I think I have a very faint line?!? Confused I'm full of cold at the moment & have been up at least 3 times going to the loo & drinking water for my throat so the pee wouldn't have been concentrated. It's also so dark in the mornings that it's hard to see for certain Confused

What do you think, am I imagining things?! always possible Grin

Disneylandkilledmychildhood · 24/11/2014 07:05

I think I can see a line Loopy. How exciting!

OP posts:
NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 07:10

I am not going to call it as those cheap tests have caught me out so many times.
Maybe wait until your late and pee on a branded test, then post it I here obviously Grin

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 07:19

Hmm NewEra good to know, it's the first time I've used ICs (although a friend sent me these as she had some leftover & she's 24 wks pg now).

Don't know when I'll be late tho as period varies between 26-31 days, I'm cd29 at the mo. If I don't have another crappy night like last night, I'll test tomorrow on my precious FRER! but knowing me I'll test this evening because I can't help myself

Frolicacid · 24/11/2014 07:58

I can see something loopy. But I think new is right to advise caution and a frer test as I have been caught out by evap lines on ic's in the past. Did the line come up quickly? If so, it's probably a positive. Fx for you Flowers

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 08:08

Loopy I agree it looks good but I've just had too many false positives from those things to say it's definitely a BFP.

I have never had a false positive from a FRER. Clearblue digi with conception indicator is also sensitive pre AF. It's the standard digi that's not particularly sensitive.

I'm excited for you Grin

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:40

I couldn't help myself...

Just did a Superdrug HPT & a faint line has come up very quickly! Smile Hopefully you girls can see a line too? or I definitely need to change my glasses

For anyone TTC or thinking about TTC with Soy Isoflavones
LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:42

Just out of interest, I checked the Clearblue digital NewEra and it's only sensitive to 25 miu/ml. My Superdrug ones are 10miu/ml sensitive which is extraordinary when you think about the cost!

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 08:44

Aaaaah but you are paying to see the words PREGNANT Grin

I can see a faint line and considering it's not FMU I would say you are uppeth duffeth Wink

Frolicacid · 24/11/2014 08:50

I'll say congratulations loopy Flowers

I'm on day 7 of my cycle and managed 4 100mg doses of soy now without a migraine, so maybe it was something else last cycle. I think I'll try 150 for my last dose tonight.
I am super spotty though. Has anyone else found soy affected their skin?

LoopyLa · 24/11/2014 08:52

If it is, then it'll be a Soy baby which goes towards the success rate of this thread! Smile

I'm feeling a bit Shock to be honest. I've had no definitive pg symptoms & was sure AF was on it's way. I think I need to use a CB to see the words myself & then I might believe it more!

NewEraNewMindset · 24/11/2014 08:56

Loopy what are your stats? Ie how long have you been trying, age etc?

I am 9dpo today and it's usually around now that on a non-pregnant cycle (and yep there have been plenty) all promising symptoms disappear. If I get any creamy cm today I shall be hopeful.

GingerbreadHead · 24/11/2014 09:19

Loopy!!!! Those lines look exactly like mine did! I had one that faint on an IC at 10dpo and the FRER was about the same as yours a few days later. I definitely think congratulations are in order!!! YEY!!!! I was shocked as well, didn't feel at all pregnant and had all the usual signs that AF was on her way. What Soy dose and days did you take then?

NewEra I have everything crossed for you, you deserve that bfp.

Glad you managed the soy migraine free frolic, that's promising. Didn't notice much change in my skin, but then I get spots anyway Angry

Sorry about the bfns Disney. Has AF arrived?

GoodEggMightMaterialiseAnytime · 24/11/2014 09:28

Wow that looks like a line to me too Loopy! Congratulations!
