Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Does IVF give you twins automatically? That's amazing!

lildottie · 22/09/2014 13:08

no they are trying to reduce multiple births so they are giving one embryo transfers with a funded frozen transfer after if it doesn't work. depends on age and risk factors though. hate being the ivf expertSad

jellypi3 · 22/09/2014 13:30

ahh right. Thanks for the info lil :( Sorry you don't like knowing all about it!

BothersomeB · 22/09/2014 14:29

Oh balls lil - I was hoping they'd put several in! I read that they will pt up to 3...I don't think the NHS would fund it for us anyway. My friend had triplets by NHS ivf a couple of years ago - perhaps they put more embryos in because she was older and had had multiple Mc's. She says random strangers often ask 'IVF was it? when they see the triplets Fecking rude!
Also sorry you're the IVF expert... Sad I guess at least these things exist, so there's hope for us...

I am soooo tempted to use an OPK to test if I am icing, since this watery CM is driving me mad! But I told myself I wouldn't use them at all, too much stress!

mountaingirl01 · 22/09/2014 15:02

Oh jelly there is so much more stress in the not knowing! Poas!!

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 22/09/2014 15:07

Oh good grief. I just got a funny feeling and ran upstairs and did a FRER.

I'd swear there's something there but it's a real squinter! Not even sure it'll photograph.

Help! What now? I know tomorrow morning and FMU is my next port of call but I wasn't expecting this at all. And my last one wasn't a sticky bean. No congrats yet - just help me make a plan please so I can stop panicking Confused

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 22/09/2014 15:11

Can anyone see what I think I can see?

TinkerBlue · 22/09/2014 15:14

Wowee before!!!! Show us a pic. How many days dpo are you? Never had a bfp so can't put myself in your shoes but can I offer a tiny high five or thumbs up or similar?? In terms of a plan I'd say quiet night in watching cilla or somesuch and poafrer again with fmu! But you knew that - can't think of anything more constructive to say other than eek!

jellypi3 · 22/09/2014 15:17

I can;t see much before but I am in work on a pretty terrible screen. Fx for you, I'll have another look at home when it won't look like a mentalist staring at a pregnancy test on my screen

TinkerBlue · 22/09/2014 15:19

Sorry, crossed post - I'll say it's a squinter!! Can see a v faint shadow of a line on the tablet - nothing on the laptop. A lines a line though!!

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 22/09/2014 15:19

Pic above... oh goodness.

If this IS something, and it may yet be nothing, I'll be the one saying "we were on a break" (think Ross from Friends) for the rest of time.

I don't know when AF is due. I don't know when I iced (felt something somewhere up thread). I've seen enough BFN to know that this is something else, but my DS was a BBFFP (extra big and extra fat, appeared in an instant). OK B, calm the heck down. One FRER at a time.

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 22/09/2014 15:23

Thanks Tinker and Jelly. To be fair, I can't see much either and I'm holding the test stick in my hand. But I...can...see...something! Right. I'll be back tomorrow, bright and early Confused

jellypi3 · 22/09/2014 15:24

ok checked on the phone and i think i can see something, but still not sure. Maybe do another one tomorrow?

honeysucklejasmine · 22/09/2014 15:26

I can see the shadow of a line. I found holding it above a lamp helpful, made the line stand out... Give it a try!

What did I say about going on a break? Wink

jellypi3 · 22/09/2014 15:30

I'm really forgetful, have we had any BFP's on this fred yet?

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 22/09/2014 15:34

I think there was one pretty early on, can't think who.

OK, by the highly unscientific method of reading back through the thread, I am 12 DPO. Or at least, 12 days post-posting about ov pain. Does that put me in the running, anyone who knows, or is it too ridiculously early?

Noniks3 · 22/09/2014 16:23

Before I think 12 DPO is EXACTLY the right stage to be at when explaining a faint line that we are all hoping & praying and crossing everything so much it hurts will be a stronger line in the morning!

I can't stand the suspense. Jelly POAMFS godammit - I can't take it! maybe feeling this excited as work is what the tardis is for....??!!

freshstart4us · 22/09/2014 16:24

Before that puts you EXACTLY in the FRER zone, luteal phase is usually 14 days so 2 days early is precisely where you might be.

Ooh how (slightly and quietly, not to alarm the bean) exciting! I just adore the idea that you might be able to use "We were on a break!" ad nauseum. Smile Grin

freshstart4us · 22/09/2014 16:25

Noniks xpost - funny!

Noniks3 · 22/09/2014 16:27

Great minds Fresh!

lildottie · 22/09/2014 17:02

I'm going to be the voice of reason. I can see a teenie tiny something but it could be an evap. if it was me I would wait until Wednesday with fmu to poafrer to give hcg time to double. plus that will be when AF due so more likely to get a better line. fx

Melodygrace · 22/09/2014 17:04

Eeeek I see a hint of a line! Ill be on here bright and early for the big update! Fingers crossed its your bfp! I'm rather excited to say its not my test!! Grin

wilmabedrock · 22/09/2014 17:05

Bother, I think NHS fund IVF up to age 42?

Jelly watery CM is normal part of CM cycle. However, I see no harm in a little POAS action Wink ...

jellypi3 · 22/09/2014 17:12

I think I'll cheat tonight then and pee on an OPK (sorry for cheating!) seeing as this watery CM is not normal (for me anyway).

I hope it's a sign i'm back to normal! Certainly getting cramps etc. but that could be a dodgy chinese I ate last night :P

Are OPK's better to pee on in the morning?
