Hi

I am new to mumsnet and just wanted to start a new thread for those who have maybe just started ttc or have been for a while and their goal is to get a bfp before xmas this year.

I have just started ttc and not long off microgynon so waiting to see what happens. Not telling anyone as me and DP want to keep it to ourselves until bfp to avoid any pressure so just looking for some internet friends to chat to!

If you can't stop yourself, get a load from pound land. They're supposed to be just as good and will save you a fortune!

sabzh · 22/08/2014 20:07

Im trying to fight the urge too! Im trying to convince myself im pg but know af will arrive and will be soooooo disappointed. Oh why do we do this to ourselves? !

Bellabutterfly2014 · 23/08/2014 16:50

Hi everyone, I had my coil out in July, had my period august and was devastated so would absolutely love to announce my pregnancy to my family on Christmas Day!!!! Or at my mums birthday meal in cot although that would be very early!!

My partner and I haven't told any family, only my best friend knows we are Ttc.

I'm 34 so I am really hoping that this happens for us. My partner already has 2 teenagers but we really want a baby.

Xxx

sabzh · 23/08/2014 17:52

I gave in and took a test................BFN! Sad i'm hoping that Ive tested too early. Need hugs please :( feel silly now so annoyed at myself Angry

Jcandy · 23/08/2014 18:31

Sending hugs your way sabzh. So sorry, it's hard not to convince yourself that it will be positive.

sabzh · 23/08/2014 18:42

Jcandy thank you xx Thanks i should just listen to the dr and wait until next Sunday.

beccaroo · 23/08/2014 18:43

Still very early sabzh! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

I am on cd31 (in theory 15dpo) and still no AF or BFP!! I think hubby thinks I am going nuts...

creamhearts · 23/08/2014 22:04

I hope it is just too early sabzh.

I am pretty sure I am not ovulating :( Trying not to panic.

sabzh · 23/08/2014 22:32

Lets hope!
How long are your cycles normally beccaroo?

sabzh · 23/08/2014 22:35

Have you been to your GP yet creamhearts? Try not to until u know for sure x but im sure all will be well

Bellabutterfly2014 · 24/08/2014 06:55

Oh and I meant to add I've become a tad obsessive, I 'm sure my partner must think I'm mad. I have as good a range of pregnancy tests (different brands) as boots and have to stop myself. Using them mid-month!!!!

I also worry I am putting pressure on my partner asking for it on demand as it were instead of " going with the flow" as he puts it , point being, he already has 2 kids and although I know he'd live us to have a baby, ultimately if this doesn't happen, it will be much worse for me .

Anyone else feeling the same. X

Bluebird89 · 24/08/2014 08:43

Idle keep me posted if AF makes an appearance, interesting/reassuring to have someone else so close in dates to me waiting for the same thing. Yes when you stop to actually think about it, it's a bit cheeky of us to expect our bodies to just snap back to a normal cycle after all these years of messing it about. Would still really appreciate it if my body would play ball though.

shouldnthavegoogledit · 24/08/2014 10:21

Hope everyone's keeping well and not too obsessive (unlike me)

...Out of curiosity, is anyone else keeping a temperature log? Mine is all over the place and being singularly un-useful...

creamhearts · 24/08/2014 10:25

I am temping and finding it not very helpful!! This is why I don't think I am ovulating.

My DH is being very patient with me doing it all! He of course just wants to DTD lots more and keep our fingers crossed but I have to feel like I am doing something about it all!

shouldnthavegoogledit · 24/08/2014 11:16

Glad it's not just me. Yes I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ovulating or not too ... I suppose at least in a few months I can go to the doctor and show the charts, rather than just vaguely asking if something might be wrong...

And yes, my DH is much more patient than I am! I suppose one of us has to be :-)

squiish · 24/08/2014 14:49

Hey all, hope everyone is well. AF arrived early hours this morning :( sad but also pleased that after 10years of pill taking (stopped them at the end of May) my cycles are pretty normal.

My only worry is through temping I O'd on day 20 so only a luteal phase of 10 days. Should I be worried?!

My DP is patient but also thinks I'm crazy for being so scientific about it all. Perhaps it's the organiser in me, I like to know what is happening. :)x

Gubb1ns · 26/08/2014 06:41

Hi Girls, can I join in? TTC since March when came off the pill, I can't even remember which one it was (is that important??) Been outwardly super chilled about the whole thing 'it will happen when it happens' blah blah blah, my inner self is of course freakishly checking for any and every sign possible. Been to the docs and told a little fib about how long we had been trying for just to get the tests out of the way, all seems OK, just waiting for one more result and then it's OH's turn for the ridiculous dash across town with a sample pot. Would be a lovely Christmas present wouldn't it!

Cariad2014 · 26/08/2014 07:06

Morning ladies. Can I join? I'm 32 and havevbeen ttc #1 since May having come off the pill in February. Had a cp at the end of June (Cycle 2) so stupidly believed that I was pretty fertile. Have been symptom spotting like crazy over the last two cycles, but alas it wasn't to be. Now in cycle 5 (AF/BFP due 17 Sept) and really over this whole ttc thing. Would love to be upduffed by Christmas (ideally in time to announce it at Christmas).

Good luck to all of you.

Gemerama82 · 26/08/2014 10:35

Cariad you sound similar to me. I am 32 and TTC #1 since end of March/start of April. I came off the pill at New Year. Now on Cycle 6 (CD19). We were super excited for the first 2 or 3 cycles, but now feeling pretty defeated.

DH had a sperm test a month or so ago, idea was to put our minds at rest as he'd had surgery on testicles some years ago. Unfortunately the results weren't good. He'll be tested again in another couple of months, but I am hoping for a little miracle before then.

To be pregnant by Christmas would be too wonderful to be true Fx

idlefolly · 26/08/2014 13:36

How's everyone doing? Any news?

Bluebird - anything happened? Still nothing at my end. Seven weeks today since implant removal. Dammit!!! I've been reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility (very good read, I recommend it to anyone TTC!) and I'm really keen impatient to start charting but there's very little point until AF arrives.

I suppose I'll just keen on waiting then as if I have a choice

Pigriver · 26/08/2014 14:05

Hi guys,
Can I join too? We have been TTC for 2 months now. I am 32 and off BC for over 2 years mostly using withdrawal method.
Got married 2 months ago and started straight away. Period started 1st day of honeymoon 4 weeks after wedding. DTD like crazy whist on honeymoon for 3 weeks so were feeling hopeful but after 2 days of symptom spotting and feeling super sick my AF arrived 5 days early :-(

I like to be super in control but have said we will give it 4 months of 'seeing how it goes' before I am allowed to get carried away with ovulation charts, temping etc!
Hoping for a BFP in dec/jan....fingers (but not legs!) crossed :-)

creamhearts · 26/08/2014 18:58

No news here, I think I am ovulating but who knows!

I have also read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and found it helpful. I am just hoping that my temp rises soon so I know if I have ovulated. I am not good at waiting and TTC is all about waiting.

Lots of luck to everyone xx

Cariad2014 · 27/08/2014 00:23

Gemerama - Sorry to hear about your DH's results - fx you'll get pregnant this cycle and there'll be no need for a further round of tests.

We've decided to wait until October before having any tests (although realistically that's only 2 cycles away, so we can't bury our heads in the sand about it forever). I just really hope I get a sticky bean before then.

StrawberryCheese · 27/08/2014 16:44

No news here, AF is due 2 weeks today. I have no idea if I am ovulating either.

Bellabutterfly2014 · 27/08/2014 20:00

Hey everyone, according to the ovulation calendar, this week is " the week " I most likely to fall pregnant - so trying to get lots of practice in but my partner feels like it's "on demand "!!!! I just hope that it happens soon for us all on this thread!
