Hi

I am new to mumsnet and just wanted to start a new thread for those who have maybe just started ttc or have been for a while and their goal is to get a bfp before xmas this year.

I have just started ttc and not long off microgynon so waiting to see what happens. Not telling anyone as me and DP want to keep it to ourselves until bfp to avoid any pressure so just looking for some internet friends to chat to!

Hey, that's amazing! Congrats oneday Grin I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry yourself too much - I'm sure this one will stick just fine.

I think this must be a lucky thread girls - babybelle only started it 5 days ago and we've had two BFPs already!

shouldnthavegoogledit · 18/08/2014 15:43

Hello Smile Mind if I join? We've just started trying too! Huge congrats to everyone who's had good news already! Now I just have to stop reading all the books and threads on infertility - we've only just started and I'm already reading the IVF info etc etc! Madness... Has anyone else wound themselves up in this lovely way or is it just me?

creamhearts · 18/08/2014 18:10

Congratulations oneday!

I am on CD9 trying to figure out when I ovulate because my cycles are pretty long (36 days).

CP1299 · 18/08/2014 18:48

Congrats one day!
Would love a BFP before Christmas.
Two months today since mirena removed on day 5 of that cycle day 1. Very short cycle only 24 days but cycle 2 was 28 days.
Currently 35 TTC1 cycle 3 day 14!!
Trying not to be too impatient.

KirstyLeigh87 · 18/08/2014 18:58

Hi! I'd love to join this thread if you'll have me! DH and I have been trying since April, currently on cycle #5 TTC #1 and had my copper coil removed mid-April and am taking pregnacare conception multivitamins... Any other advise is greatly appreciated... In currently on the 2WW with AF due on Wednesday and if I get a BFN this month I will be soooo disheartened as with each cycle we don't conceive I keep thinking there is something wrong.... DH and I are both 27, healthy(ish) and didn't think we would have any problems TTC.... Here's to a BFP before Xmas for all you lovely ladies!!!! Grin Xxxx

babybelle1 · 18/08/2014 19:22

No you're certainly not alone there shouldnthavegoogledit I just try to tell myself the longer it takes the more money I can save up.

teeniedeenie34 · 18/08/2014 20:34

Lol, Bluebird I'm exactly the same! :-)

shouldnthavegoogledit · 19/08/2014 07:57

Oh, so glad to hear I'm not alone Smile yes, working on not being stressed and focusing on positives. As well as more money, that's more vitamins and hopefully a healthier baby!

One huge thing I've found is that this whole experience so far has been a real eye opener for me. Once upon a time I thought all pregnancies sort of magically (or rather accidentally) happened when you stopped birth control. I never thought you had to work at it (and in some cases that's true of course). I never thought much about people who we're mums or dads, never noticed the endless pushchairs around, didn't notice the massive baby industry really at all. I never really believed the "one day it will just click and you'll desperately want kids" thing either, but that's whats happened to me at 30!

I also wonder how many people I've carelessly hurt over the years by not being that impressed - or worse, asking if they're planning on having more kids. I always meant it in a "would you like a big family" small talk kind of way, but now I think about it, I cringe...

Anyway, off to a non obsessive day at work! Hope you all have nice days!

Missushb · 19/08/2014 12:05

I know what you been should've googledit, it's small talk isn't it "any plans for any more?"!

CabbagePatchCheryl · 19/08/2014 13:10

Girls, I need a kick up the bum

Still no AF (4 days late now) after two BFNs. My boobs hurt, I am totally irrational ( just had massive strop at DH over exactly NOTHING), slight cramps in the mornings so I think AF is coming but no sign.

I am worried either:

  1. That my cycle is f*cked up again after I thought it had settled and this will put us back in the TTC stakes

or

  1. that I'm pg and have killed/damaged the baby with the copious quantities of wine I've consumed since my second BFN, never for a second thinking that it wasn't right.

Please can someone reassure me? Sad Genuinely feeling horrible.

lookingspiffy · 19/08/2014 15:32

Aww cabbage! a) 4 days late doesn't mean your cycle is screwed up.. Plus mine often goes a bit haywire when I'm stressed.

B) a night on the wine so early in pregnancy will be fine. While obviously not ideal, I honestly wouldn't worry. A friend of mine drank for the first 6 months of pregnancy as she had no idea she was pregnant... Her son is 10 now and just fine!

creamhearts · 19/08/2014 15:59

Oh cabbage please don't be sad, I am sure your glass of wine has nothing to do with it. I hope your period arrives soon for you so you can get on with your next cycle.

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 16:04

Hello everyone! Could I please join you?
When I saw this thread I got very excited as it exactly describes my situation. I am 28y, 3 months off BC, TTC no 1, cycle 1, day 27. Used OPK's and thought we had DTD plenty (I was exhausted!) and at the right time, 2 BFN's today and CD 25....so now waiting to see what happens!

Being a science geek I like to understand what's going on so am considering getting a CBFM...is that SO sad after just one month of TTC?! Blush
Anyway, hoping for a BFP before Christmas and FX for you all too. Smile

CabbagePatchCheryl · 19/08/2014 16:18

Thanks loves (and welcome Becca). I know you're right - even writing down those worries made me feel better and a bit silly (In my defence I am insanely hormonal).

Never thought I'd be keeping my fingers crossed for AF! Onwards and upwards, next month will be better.

Melodygrace · 19/08/2014 16:31

Hi I'm going to join you I have two little girls already so we are going to try for our final baby. I'm going to try and bd only around ovulation in the hopes I get a little boy.
We are not bothered if we get another little girl but a boy would be nice!
Wishing us all our bfps. I'm quite excited I have opks and pregnancy tests at the ready. I ovulate in around 6 days so seems like ages before I get to test. Oh well. First month of trying after coming off microgynon. Good luck girls :)

Dreamingoutloud · 19/08/2014 18:43

Hi I'm going to join you all if you don't mind, stopped taking the pill on Sunday so waiting for the withdrawal and then we will ttc, we have a holiday next month which will be like our last big hoorah/expenditure. Hoping my cycle kicks in pretty quickly, I've been on the pill for about 8 years although I took a 2 month break last year due to pill side effects and I had a 29 day cycle straight away, hoping it's the same this time, although now that I need it too it probably won't!
A bfp by christmas would be an absolute dream Smile

Girly1409 · 19/08/2014 18:55

Hi all
Would love to join you! I'm 27yo TTC#1 Cycle#1 Married 2 years. DH always wanted kids but I took some convincing. Now I'm on board, I'm so on board!
Anyone else find DTD for first time without protection an overwhelmingly emotional moment or am I being way too soppy?
Really looking forward to this journey if I'm honest. Hoping to make it fun and not stressful. FX for BFP by Xmas for all of us. Congrats to everyone who's already there Smile

Brighteyes1985 · 19/08/2014 19:33

Hello all
Breaking my mumsnet posting virginity here after lurking around a couple of posts! Only got the hang of a few of the abbreviations so apologise in advance.
I came off cerezzete on the 11th August and am TTC! From reading a couple of posts I understand people have waited for their cycles to 'kick' in, based on doctors advice, we've just been going for it...is that ok?
Also it's beside the point but I never had a period on cerezzete until I had my magic 'I want a baby NOW' moment, then my periods came back. That was back in April when our niece visited (waiting to come off the pill after our holiday in August). I'm very much hoping it's some sort of weird and wonderful sign of good ovulation!
Good luck everyone x

FreckleBee · 19/08/2014 19:53

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join in too? We are on cycle 1 of TTC and I'm currently ovulating. So hard not to put all my hope on it working first time round! I also would love to be pregnant for christmas.
Hope you are all getting on okay

FreckleBee · 19/08/2014 19:56

PS Girly1409 I agree it was really quite emotional and nerve wracking! I guess because you know it could be a life changing moment!!

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 21:03

I agree - very emotional!! And then you do it EVERY DAY for a week and it becomes less so (but still good)!

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 21:04

Also Brighteyes it's definitely ok to have a go, my doc said it's best to wait until you've had a few periods so you have an idea of what your cycles are like, but there's no problem if you conceive sooner, and even though you're not having periods you might still be ovulating as the uterine wall can be slow to build up when it has had years of being quiet...

fingerscrossed123x · 19/08/2014 21:14

Huge congratulations bananatoast!!

I came off the pill in May and have just settled into a 28 day cycle.

ttc #1 Fingerscrossed for BFP before Xmas!

I have a lovely 13 year old step son but desperate for one of my own!

Good luck all!! Xx
