Hi

I am new to mumsnet and just wanted to start a new thread for those who have maybe just started ttc or have been for a while and their goal is to get a bfp before xmas this year.

I have just started ttc and not long off microgynon so waiting to see what happens. Not telling anyone as me and DP want to keep it to ourselves until bfp to avoid any pressure so just looking for some internet friends to chat to!

Hi All,

I'm new here, can I join? TTC #1 - usual cycles around 35 days (last 3 - 37, 34, 35) - had solid smiley face on CD21, now CD33 (11DPO, assuming I actually O'd after the surge) with AF due this Thursday/Friday. I don't feel it's my month AT ALL sadly so trying to mentally prepare myself for October! It's just a draining, emotional roller coaster angry Having read most of this thread, I could have written a lot of the posts myself, so glad I'm not the only one feeling this way! Would love to join you lovely ladies on this journey x

Dreamingoutloud · 17/09/2014 07:24

Hi, sorry I haven't posted since August.
My withdrawal bleed came and went as usual, we decided to wait to try until Af came so we could track better, I'm now on CD28 waiting for Af to arrive, the cramping and back ache suggest she's definitely on the way, never thought I'd be so excited to get it!!

If it does happen today then it means I should ov the week we're on holiday..would be awesome timing Grin

I feel like there is loads I should be doing, and yet there's really nothing is there?!

Bluebird89 · 17/09/2014 07:34

Think it's money related. We're gonna hold off until the new year. Feeling better about it this morning. At least it gives my body a decent amount of time post implant to get itself into a regular cycle (hopefully) and can just chill out for the rest of the year!

Will keep my fingers crossed you all get your BFPs!

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/09/2014 11:07

Hello all!

I've just had my copper coil removed. We're hoping to conceive by Christmas.

I know this may very much be a case of hoping as we've not given ourselves much time!

Sorry for your loss purple.

Freedom40 · 19/09/2014 10:16

Hi everyone on holidays in greece with DH do was keeping post and such none existent to spend time together. Well clearblue has been showing blinking smile face since sunday. Not sure whats going on but got back ache and cramping at night. Think bc out of my system as relaxed and got sex drive back. Feeling like my old self from 6 years ago. pruple chin up we are all here for you and xmas will be here before you know it and we are all in a cheery relaxed mood in the run up so FX for you.

blue give him time it might just be all a but much for him the reality of the bug life change. Best just to talk about the future and not specifically the baby. Maybe a bit later if he has mates with little ones meet up see how he reactsmight get him to think about what he really wants. Take it slow. Its a huge step for a guy especially since they are more back seat drivers here and can only watch from the side lines while we do the heavy lifting.

Hello newbies Welcome to the thread. FC for all AF to go back to normal lots of BPFs for xmas snd lots of patience and getting closer to our DH.

Dreamingoutloud · 19/09/2014 13:49

Got my Af this morning, and this month we will start ttc, all suddenly feels very real, I remember at the beginning of the year this all seemed too far away, now it's here and it feels like its been no time at all!

Freedom glad your feeling good! hope Greece is amazing!

scienceteachergeek · 19/09/2014 16:43

Hello again all

Thank GOD for the weekend! Anyone heard any experiences of implantation bleeding? AF due in 9 days but just wiped after having a wee and found pink! Very very light amount of blood. Really struggling not to get excited but surely it's waaaaay too soon to POAS. Would even an early response pick up a BFP this early?

squiish · 19/09/2014 22:40

Evening all
It's been a while, just trying to not really think about it... As if that's possible?
Sorry to hear your news purple, FX for BFP soon for you.
AF due this weekend and have usual symptoms Sad

Pigriver · 19/09/2014 22:47

AF arrived today a week early (just like last month) meaning my cycle is now 22days!
I am torn between thinking a short cycle is good as I'll ovulate more often (is that right) and it been bad that a spend 1 week in 3 out of action and now much time yo actually get pregnant!

Freedom40 · 20/09/2014 09:26

dreaming greece is amasing and showed me you can travel and have a great time with baby in tow. There are loads of families here with kids under 5 having a great time pram and all on the beach. Guess when that time comes dd or ds will have to fall in and enjoy the ride.

Headed home today and looking forward to the tww so fx for 14 days. Hope everyone is well and on track for an xmas bfp overload.

Dreamingoutloud · 21/09/2014 08:37

Sorry about your Af Pigriver

Freedom glad you had a great time, dh always says we'll still travel when we babies come along, I get stressed just thinking about it Confused glad you've seen its possible!

Beansprout30 · 21/09/2014 11:21

Hi all can I join?!

We are ttc #1, came off pill in Feb and had a couple of attempts till April but then dh had to work away all summer so we had to put it on hold which was so had as a baby was all I had on my mind.

He is finally due back next month, I will miss one more ovulation before he is back then we can get back on it im so excited!! I've started to get obsessed with it all again knowing he will be back soon, ive had a good fewmonths to track my cycles which has been helpful.

Im going to sit back and follow this thread till we can get going again. Wishing you all lots of luck with you bfps!!!

Beansprout30 · 21/09/2014 11:23

Forgot to say so many people I know have announced pregnancy news the last fews months, that has been so bloody hard to hear when it's the only thing we wan right now

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 08:52

Hi ladies,
So I think I may start temping.I'm due to do a pregnancy test in 11 days (according to Ovia), buf ig that doesn't get my my BFP then I think temping will help me out.
Do I need a specific type of thermometer, or is a standard boots digital jobby ok?
Also, do I need to chart to one decimal place, or two?

Thanks.

Sebysmamy · 23/09/2014 15:32

Hi- hope you don't mind me commenting but I think I'm going crazy & need some advice! TTC DC2, with the 1st wasn't even trying & got pg right away this time I'm defo TTC and it's the 1st month so looking for those symptoms that might indicate BFP but I tested 9dpo & today, 11dpo with CB digital & BFN! Utterly confused!! My cycles are all over, I can go months at a time with no AF but August AF was present so went for it & according to an app I conceived 12th Sept, if indeed I did, so am I in fact testing too early?

So far I feel
*sensitive nips
*i can smell my neighbours smoking!

  • I cried at stupid stuff (defo not like me) *retched @ the squelching of Mayo being scooped from the jar!!

But can all these be in my head!? With my 1st I was over 10 wks gone when I found out I was pg but I thought I had the flu then!

squiish · 23/09/2014 16:30

Baffers I tempted previous cycle and bought a Basal thermometer for it - £5 from Amazon! I recorded them by point 1 decimal point not sure if that is correct though.

Feeling completely fed up today!! On CD 30 and no sign of AF, no dryness (tmi) and my boobs are so so sore :(. I POAS yest evening and it was negative so I'm just in limbo.

Positive vibes this way please!

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 16:57

I purchased the BBT thermometer, a chart, about 15 early detection pregnancy tests and 30 (I think) ovulation sticks off the babymad website. Under £11 and free postage, hoorah.

My SIL is pregnant, so I am getting daily emails from the MIL about "we've got the cot out" and "look what I've brought." While it's nice I can't help thinking it sucks. She doesn't even want a baby!

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/09/2014 17:26

That's pretty thoughtless Baffers, does she know you are trying?

Sebysmamy · 23/09/2014 17:33

I know the feeling Baffers -My SIL is too, but they've tried for 7 Yrs, I am happy & supportive but underneath I feel slightly jealous because I want that too.

Sending you lots of hugs & luck x

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 23:05

No purple, she'd be really interfering (in a nice way if she did). We were hoping to give her her first grandchild but it doesn't look like its meant to be. I suppose this takes a bit of heat off.

Only found out SIL Is pregnant last month. She's due next month and has basically been in hiding since she started to show. It's all very odd!

Baby dust to you all. Will be our day one day. Xx

croon979 · 02/10/2014 21:56

Hello ladies, I posted back here in august when my DH and I decided to start TTC. Little update - I got my BFP yesterday! Delighted and in shock. As I ovulated late it is verrrrry early days though, so being cautious and trying not to get ahead of myself. I will only be 2 weeks since conception, 4 since last AF. Fingers crossed to all those still hoping for BFP by Xmas xx

Beansprout30 · 02/10/2014 22:15

Congratulations Croon, hope all stays well for you. Do you mind me asking how late you ovulated? I seem to ovulate on cd 20 and thought this wasn't ideal?

croon979 · 02/10/2014 22:21

Thanks Beansprout :). I bought a CB fertility monitor and it confirmed that I also ovulated very late. My 2 peak days were on CD19/20 so I could even have ovulated after then on day 21. My cycles are usually anywhere between 28 -31 days so without my monitor I would never have known I ovulated so late and would probably have been BDing a week early. Keep faith though, ovulating late is fine provided there is long enough for the eggy to fertilise, travel and implant. A full 14 days b/w ovulation and expected next period is not always necessary xx

Beansprout30 · 03/10/2014 21:22

Thanks for the reply Croon, nice to hear positive stories

idlefolly · 04/10/2014 09:19

Congrats croon!

Update! Still no AF (12 weeks and 4 days since implant removal) so I went to Drs and had blood tests yesterday. Doctor said if I haven't had AF by now it is not because of implant. So naturally felt v worried and upset. BUT! I think I may have ovulated this week...I have had EWCM for about 4/5 days (which I haven't had since implant removal), my cervix feels high (sorry, TMI), my nipples feel v sensitive and yesterday I had a positive OPK!!! I did 3 OPKs yesterday though, one in the morning = line but not as dark as control, a second mid-morning = no line and then one in the evening = second line as dark as control...a bit bemused as to why three different results, but considering other symptoms do you think I can assume ovulation? DTD two days ago but not pinning hope in a BFP this month, just relieved that hopefully my body has started to wake up! We'll see in 2 wks I guess, if the elusive AF makes an appearance!
Oops, sorry for long post! Hope everyone is doing ok and there have been lots of BFPs! Smile
