Hello Ladies!

Thought I'd try and get some of the 20+ hopeful Mummies together.

My lovely DP and I don't want to let on that we're TTC so I'm lacking friends and a chit chat about all the downstairs what not. DP will die inside if he has to hear about cycles/ovulation or temperatures anymore!

Let's get some BFPs going!

I feel a bit late to the party! I'm 24, dp is 26. TTC #1 since March. We've been struggling a bit with vaginismus for the past 2 years but things are slowly improving. :) FX for everyone.

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 05/08/2014 06:32

Hello can I hover here for a couple of months? I'm 23 hubby 25, we will be ttc #1 when I come off the pill. 1.5 packs left then waiting for af and off we go! Hope to get started mid-October. Love reading all the stories though and likewise we are concealing from friends and family (enough pressure already now we are married!). Worried about money, mainly child are costs. And we are doing up our house so we need to get a move on with that!

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 09:42

Hello to all the new ladies! :)

I just realised that I didn't tell you guys about myself!

I'm 22 and OH is 23. He has a DS from previous(not bio). TTC #1. We're mostly worried about how DSS will react to Daddy having a baby around all the time.

Hi Ladies Smile

I've been lurking on Mumsnet for a couple of months and figured I would finally join the conversation!

Both DH and I are 25, will be TTC #1 soon, DH just needs a tad more convincing Wink we are going on our honeymoon at the end of this month so I'm hoping that will be a great time to start!

StepMum2b · 05/08/2014 18:10

Hi I'm 26 and we've just started this month properly trying for my first (his third) DC. So exciting! So happy this thread has started Smile

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 18:22

Hi dogonaleash and stepmum!

It is all very exciting isn't it :)

Stepmum when is it test time? I've got a week left to wait! It's killing me!

Dog you'll be able to persuade him! Hopefully he'll get caught up in the honeymoon and agree haha!

StepMum2b · 05/08/2014 18:29

Not entirely sure yet Tyla. AF was 28th-1st of Jul/Aug. So I'm assuming it will be towards the end of the month if no AF?? Really don't understand all of this ovulating business yet!

DogOnALeash · 05/08/2014 18:34

Oh I hope I can persuade him lol!! He's already said we can start soon but he's such a worry wort bless him I know he's scared about it.

I have no idea how you ladies handle the TWW I will be ripping my hair out!! I want to take it easy and play it by ear but I know I won't be.

Has anyone started taking preconception vits yet? I've got a box of pregnacare on the go dunno if it will help Hmm

StepMum2b · 05/08/2014 18:37

I've bought some folic acid tablets but keep forgetting, really need to step it up!

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 18:38

It's stressful waiting! Haha.

You'll get the hang of ovulation but just go for it everyday and you'll be fine haha!

I'm taking Sanatogen Mum to be which is for conception and early stages. Also don't know if it will help but I'm doing it anyway!

It's so nice to have a thread like this.

All respect to the ladies on mn and the mums I know in real life but I am 28 and often made to feel like I'm only 15.

It's nice to have a non patronising group a similar age to me.

I bought some folic acid today I have started taking. My fertile time as showing on my ovia app is next week so when we are away on holiday.

Looks like plenty of 'fun in the sun' then!!

DogOnALeash · 05/08/2014 19:11

Well every little helps so they say!

Everywhere I look there are bumps and babies, doesn't help my broodiness that my sister has an adorable 5month DS and we have been out buying all sorts of adorable clothes - it's a form of torture I tell you!

How long has everyone been trying for? I have only just come off the pill so am not expecting any first time miracles lol

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 05/08/2014 19:13

I have bought pregnacare conception but am waiting to take once I am off the pill as otherwise thought it might be wasted! So in about a month. Who knows if it will help but I know it is recommended to take folic acid so thought would see if the extra bits help things along too! Such an exciting time, nice to be able to chat about it all even though we haven't actually started ttc yet :)

DogOnALeash · 05/08/2014 19:14

Ohh buba that makes two of us hoping for vacation babies, according to Ovia my fertile week is in the first week of honeymoon but I doubt we will have an issue DTD Wink

Where are you off to?

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 19:54

If the fun in the sun works for you ladies then I'm booking a holiday! Haha.

alltherightfriends · 05/08/2014 19:58

DP and I are 26 and 27 and have decided that we will start ttc now...I am worried though because we haven't used any kind of contraception for four years now and no 'mishaps' have occurred. I hope I'm thinking too much.

bubalou · 05/08/2014 20:04

Dogonaleash - good luck with honeymoon baby!

Were going to a place near Marbella. DH's company has a beautiful apartment there in a private complex with 4 pools and this huge balcony that wraps round the apartment. We only had to pay for flights for us and DS so isn't really expensive either.

Where is your honeymoon?

Tylastar - fingers crossed!!! Wink

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 20:10

Hey alltherightfriends, there could have been a lot of reasons no mishaps have happened. I wouldn't read into it :)

It's bizzare though isn't it how people try for babies for so long and some people get pregnant without even knowing! Makes me wonder if thinking too much about it makes it worse!! (I know it's not scientific lol)

DogOnALeash · 05/08/2014 20:13

Oh that sounds lovely buba we are off to LA and Las Vegas, doing a bit of a driving tour, DH doesn't like to sit still so we knew we couldn't do an all inclusive beach resort. That's really lucky you only had to pay for your flights, this honeymoon is working out to be so expensive that we're making it extra special as it will be our last holiday for a while!!

Surely a fun in sun baby is more likely right?!? I mean on holiday is when you are most relaxed so the odds are in your favour in that respect.

Will let you know Tyla, even if it doesn't work you should book one to relax and unwind Smile

Welcome Alltherightfriends good luck to you and DP!

bubalou · 05/08/2014 20:17

Dogonaleash - that sounds fab! We did Las Vegas for 3 nights and them Hawaii for a week for ours and it was awesome. That was 7 years ago though so I can't offer much advice for Vegas.

Except to visit IHOP. Pancakes galore - yum.

Wink
Tylastar · 05/08/2014 20:25

Bubalou, you're comment about being made to feel 15 is true.

I know I'm fairly young but me the OH have been together a while and we felt that now was as good a time as any and especially with DSS being 3 we thought it was a nice age for him to have a sibling.

I just think it's nice to not be made to feel inferior.

busywifey · 05/08/2014 20:25

Hi Ladies, DH and me (both early twenties) have been TTC for 8 months now with no luck. I've been on the pill for 7 years prior to this so hoping that it's out of my system now and that we will have some luck. Super broody and so disappointed every month when AF arrives. Great thread btw!

Tylastar · 05/08/2014 20:27

Welcome busywifey :) Fx for you that AF stays away this month.

Is it bad that the thing that worries me the most is being the first out if my group of friends.

We are 28 but there isn't much sign of babies happening with any of them!

I don't want to be alone

bubalou · 05/08/2014 22:00

I'm glad it's not just me tylastar.

You can get people who are perfectly nature in their early 20's and people who are naive and stupid in their 40's.

I understand that of course age does help - more life experience, money, stable job etc. But I had DS a year after we got married when I was only 22.

I worked before and I have an even better job now that allows me to work from home and make my own hours and pays really well.

There's no such thing as the perfect time to have kids. I think as long as you are healthy and happy with your partner then a baby is only going to enrich your life further.

People do need to be sure - wow I know so many that made that mistake. Confused
