Hello Ladies!

Thought I'd try and get some of the 20+ hopeful Mummies together.

My lovely DP and I don't want to let on that we're TTC so I'm lacking friends and a chit chat about all the downstairs what not. DP will die inside if he has to hear about cycles/ovulation or temperatures anymore!

Let's get some BFPs going!

I don't use opks - would you recommend them those who do???

If so what type / brand do you use?

roughtyping · 11/08/2014 09:04

What does 'opk' stand for?

Beaverfeaver2 · 11/08/2014 12:24

Has Anyone else come off the pill and not had a period for a while after the withdrawal bleed?

I still have no signs of AF and getting worried now my CD's are in the 40's...

lp2014 · 11/08/2014 12:57

Rough typing- ovulation prediction kit

roughtyping · 11/08/2014 15:56

Thanks lp

beaver I'm still only having periods about once every couple of months. Not regular at all. Came off the pill in September.

kismac · 11/08/2014 18:20

Hi everyone, I'm 29 and we are TTC #1 and this is cycle 2. We were on honeymoon at the end of June/early July and I was soooo hoping for a honeymoon baby but no such luck. Was quite upset that it didn't happen as I felt unwell and crampy, so might have been early pregnancy that didn't stick. The husband is being very laid back about it, even though it was his decision to start TTC, whereas I feel quite stressed! Ha ha.

bubalou · 12/08/2014 08:12

Hi kismac,

I know that once you start ttc it's very easy to get stressed and really focused on this 1 thing.

Try to relax and enjoy the fun as stress doesn't help when ttc. Try to plan in some things you enjoy that will help relax you at this important time.

How are you tracking? Are you using opks, an app, bbt? All of the above?

I'm using the ovia app and tracking my bbt as it's only our first month so want to try to keep it laid back and fun.

Smile
kismac · 12/08/2014 11:17

Thanks bubalou.

I'm not tracking, as I was so convinced that it'd just happen! Ha ha. If there's no good news this month, then think I'll get an opks. I'm wanting it to not become an obsession but at the same time I want it to happen as soon as, so need to put the effort in. Eek!

Hope you get good news soon.

bubalou · 12/08/2014 16:20

I completely get it kismac!

As soon as we started ttc with my DS I was literally thinking, planning and googling stuff every second of the day!

I would definitely recommend the ovia app as it has really helped me narrow down my 'fertility' window and it's full of helpful information.

It gives you a fertility score out of 10 depending on all the information and their statistics are based on real cycle information from thousands of women.

I'm a 7.5 score today so have already dtd Wink

Tomorow it's 9 and Thursday 10 so will be dtd every day for the next few days.

Keep us up to date.

Good luck. Smile

Beaverfeaver2 · 12/08/2014 18:54

I have been using the clue app and just downloaded ovia.

Entered in the same information and the results are so different.
Movie gives me a score of 10 today and that I should expect period in 12 days.

I am on cycle day 45!

Very confused

misseskimo · 13/08/2014 13:22

Hey all, I'm 27, hubby is 28 and we've been TTC #1 on and off for 3yrs now :(

The first year we had the naive impression of "it'll just happen" then after no luck we started tracking using various fertility apps, then took break for a few months whilst I changed jobs and we moved house. Now we're settled again, this time around we've decided to go all out - First I went and had all the fertility tests done which came back normal (hubby is due to have his done next month), and now we're giving the Clearblue Dual Hormone Ovulation Tests a go... I've heard really positive comments about them after LOADS of research, and although their expensive, we just thought why the heck not? We're on our 4th cycle straight using them this year (tried twice last year too before our 'break'), and just got my peak today, so I'm keeping everything crossed that this is the month!

I now solely use the WomanLog Pro app, I tried almost all of the ones on the market, at one point I had about 4 on the go at once! And found that this one was most accurate at predicting my ovulation and fertile dates... It also gives me the option to manually input my TRUE fertile days based on the CB OPKs, so you can compare. And it has a nifty little "Pregnancy" feature which switches the app to a pregnancy tracker when you finally get the positive line! The basic app is free, but I think it was only a few ££ for the pro version, and you get so much more functionality - For someone will irregular cycles its a godsend :) x

misseskimo · 13/08/2014 13:24

Actually I lie, hubby is 29, but I'm sure he'd prefer to be 28 Lol x

Snowqueen2014 · 13/08/2014 15:53

Hi all
I am in the same boat I am 25 ttc baby number one but to all our friends it seems to come natural so nice to there are others out there

babybelle1 · 13/08/2014 17:24

Hi

ttc #1 and just came off microgynon pill after 5 years so really just a waiting game to see if my cycle returns to normal or I get a bfp. I'm not sure whether reading these boards are a good or bad thing for me my mind is going into overdrive thinking about it all.

bubalou · 13/08/2014 17:37

Just for those coming off the pill - I know all bodies are different but I was on the pill for 10 years.

When I came off to ttc ds1 - we were told not to even ttc for at least 6 months as it would stay in my system until at least then.

Month 5 we conceived DS.

Smile Good luck to all.

Beaverfeaver2 · 13/08/2014 21:16

I'm now on CD 44.
Came off of the pill (marvelon) June 28th.

What is going on?!

Beaverfeaver2 · 13/08/2014 21:35

I'm starting to wonder if I should poas, but I have had no spotting and no symptoms that I have noticed.

babybelle1 · 13/08/2014 21:43

beaverfever i would maybe think about poas so you know whether or not you are still waiting on af.

good luck!

amy1492 · 13/08/2014 21:46

I had a break through bleed Jan last year when I came off micronor... went back on it may last year.

come off it 30th July. .. so only 2 weeks ago and still no break through bleed. ... any one else had this?

DogOnALeash · 13/08/2014 22:31

hey guys, been missing again - prepping for going away!

beaver you should def POAS, the amount of times I have done it for AF to turn up a day later - I don't know whether it's because I've been stressing and the fact that I get a BFP calms me down enough for AF to arrive or whether I'm just too eager to POAS instead of thinking I'm just irregular lol!

But you are not the only one - I just stopped taking my pill last month and just had a 34day cycle - AF arrived yesterday, perfect timing as she will be away my entire honeymoon, what a relief!

amy I know the pill can really mess you up and from all the stalking perusing of MN I've done you are definitely not alone. I've seen women go 2 months without a single thing. Ridiculously frustrating!

roughtyping · 14/08/2014 22:02

I've been having cycles of 40-50 days. I hate it :(

honeysucklejasmine · 14/08/2014 23:06

Hi all. I'm 28, DH is 25. We've just started to TTC so hoping for a BFP in September. My cycle is really regular so hoping my period tracking app has accurately predicted ovulation! We're trying the whole week and a few either side just in case! I don't understand all this charting and temp business. Can someone sum up? Is your highest temp when you ovulate? How do you know its the high until it goes down the next day? Is there a maximum? (How naive I am!)

roughtyping · 17/08/2014 12:01

Oh have had a fright. TMI!

DTD this morning, afterwards there was a lot of bright red blood when I was 'cleaning up'. Got a fright and started crying which scared DH a bit I think!

Please reassure me that this is just a little tear or something? While DTD it felt quite 'deep' so is my cervix maybe lower? Can this happen?!!!

Can't believe I'm posting this Blush just a bit worried. Have been feeling down about not being pregnant yet, I'm so worried that something is wrong.

roughtyping · 17/08/2014 12:03

Also to amy re coming off the pill - my cycles started out massive (ended pill at end of September, first period November then nothing til April) but they're getting shorter each time. Fingers crossed it continues. Think it can take a long time to settle.

lp2014 · 17/08/2014 17:29

How are you roughtyping? Just seen your post. I am not sure what it will be but don't get down, I am sure you will be okay xx
