A group of lovely ladies who've seen it all

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 07/11/2014 19:41

Oh Critter I'm very relieved to hear that. I don't know anything about HCG levels but clearly you are pleased with that so I will cheer Grin. I hope so much that this is the twibling's time.

I too am hoping Joy has good news. Fingers crossed that radio silence is a result of small celebrations offline. Wishing the very best of news.

Have done some packing but now enjoying a lovely glass of wine in what I really really hope will be my last one at home for a while :)

Buzzybee123 · 07/11/2014 19:57

a spade is a spade is a spade, you can call it a blardy shovel but its still a spade Wink I'm not sure what you mean nelly I'm as subtle as a sledge hammer me.

joy I do hope all is well with you

critter Great news :) Do they give you another one to check its going up??

nelly eeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, what time is your flight, I am mega mega mega excited Grin what time is your flight, down the bottle its the last you'll be having for ages :) you'll be having a summer baby, I've done a rough calculation of your due date Blush did I mention I'm mega mega mega excited

sam I'm sure she is but you don't really want to hear all about someone else's pregnancy when you are trying yourself, with my last pregnancy I had 3 colleagues also pregnant so when I miscarried I was relieved that 2 were off sick and one worked away from me, I take it still no AF Hmm

MuddyWellyNelly · 07/11/2014 20:29

Buzzy Grin Grin Grin You're hilarious!!! I haven't even done that yet, well ok I might have given it a minute's thought but certainly not officially. Gosh we're all in for a big disappointment when my body decides not to play ball, huh.

Flight is in early AM, to the big Smoke, sadly have to waste a few hours there but it was the only option using our points. I haven't packed yet.

loopylou1984 · 07/11/2014 20:35

Nope nothing... It'll be day 42 tomorrow.
Do you think I'm being stupid to think there's still a chance of a bfp even though it's been so long? X

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 07/11/2014 20:43

I've now done it too. Buzz, you're a terrible influence. But really exciting nelly!!!

Hurrah for perfect hcg numbers, critter! One day at a time! Here to hold hands.

Thinking of you, joy! I really hope all went well.

Sorry about the tent dwelling, ray and cos! Big hugs, chocolate and wine.

AWOL af is soooo annoying, Sam and ray! I hope it's good news or otherwise soon resolved!

Waves and hugs to you all. Lembie had his first fever overnight and today, so I've been comforting snack bar all day. He seems much better now, so I'll sneak in some sleep!

Buzzybee123 · 07/11/2014 21:03

sam I don't want to give you false hope, there is a possibility but I just think its your body having a wobble, sorry, I really do hope you come back and say its a BFP

lemon high temps are worrying, hope lembie recovers soon

nelly Hope you are packing and getting an early night

joycep · 07/11/2014 21:08

Oh Critter - that is spooky but a great number and I hope you feel relief? . I hope you are ok.

Nelly - safe journey tomorrow. Will be thinking of you all weekend. And you will be Pupo soon!

Sam - have you tested again just to double check?

just been in car for hours but all was fine with scan. Goodness Sheer relief rather than excitement. Doc was so lovely and showed a pic of one and said there it is and I said "oh there should be two." He said "really?". And he looked around for 30 secs and I said "oh dear has it died?" And suddenly he found the other one hiding. But they are measuring as they should.
I think as buzzy said paranoia and anxiety will kick in again after 24 hours but for now, I feel ever so thankful, kind of what to get on my knees and thank something divine.

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 07/11/2014 21:15

Sam I'm inclined to think that a cycle this long is most likely to be anovulatory. It's more likely that you would get a BFP within regular timescales. But I'm basing that on the rather unbalanced group that this thread represents! Maybe instadiffers get a BFP at the end of a long cycle; for most of us it just turns out to be a WTF month.

Drizz you are as bad. Step away from the calculator. what was the date I feel like I'll really be letting you all down now. Wink It's easy to be full of bravado when, so far, I'm nothing to do with the success. In a couple of days though I'm going to be back to full on stress mode, for which I apologise in advance. Hope Lembie feels better soon, poor lamb, and that you get some rest as well.

Buzzy nope just finishing the wine, off upstairs soon, annoyed though as I don't want to take a lemsip as would be annoyed if I took conflicting drugs at this stage. Need a bit more sleep tonight though.

Joy lovely, thinking of you xx

berrygoround · 07/11/2014 21:16

Oh joy I am so relieved for you! Such good news. I felt so nervous when I was was waiting for the thread to load so I could see how you got on so I can only imagine how you must have felt today!

Nelly, get packing! Hope everything goes smoothly and you have a safe flight.

Critter that does sound encouraging. Will you have another test to check if they're doubling?

Sam sorry AF is still messing with you.

My appointment today was a bit of waste of time. I have to go back on Wednesday for a second opinion.

joycep · 07/11/2014 21:16

Ray - I think your doc trying to blame eggs was a cheap shot. And I don't blame you for getting a bit cross about him having a go at your eggs. They are in excellent nick. Also on my clinic FF board, there have be a number of successes with natural ivf with ladies who are a lot older. The drug ivf rounds didn't seem to work but natural did. I think there is a lot to be hopeful for for your next cycle.
And I am also going to be fascinated to see if this lady gets pregnant first go. And yes, she has had 8 babies, all took 1 month. I will put money on it happening first month again.

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 07/11/2014 21:16

YAY!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin. But EEK at the second one not showing initially. Oh I am so unbelievably happy for you. Oh I'm so excited.

joycep · 07/11/2014 21:21

Berry - thank you! The one thing about this thread is, you don't just get nervous for yourself but for everyone as well. Why was your meeting such a waste, I'm really sorry to hear that?

Nelly - steess mode is par for the course. That's why we are here. But goodness, with 6 going strong, you make get quite a few frosties which would be awesome.

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 07/11/2014 21:30

Berry apologies please remind me what was happening today? I'm still trying to get up to speed with our lovely newbies because I've been so self absorbed. I'm sorry it was a waste of time though, when there is already so much of that.

Joy we can stress together for the next week or so Wink. I really really hope we get frosties as it does take a bit of pressure off, financially as well.

I found out a little bit of info about our donor today but might share that on t'other place instead of here. I'm also trying not to over-think it as I guess I am still exploring how I feel about her, now that she's real. I did give Mr Nelly a hard time today about this affair he's just had though, weirdly from a thousand miles away. I know it might seem in bad taste, but our personality as a couple is to be a bit Chandler about things, so if it's inappropriate for anyone please tell me. It doesn't need to be shared all over MN, after all...

Buzzybee123 · 07/11/2014 21:30

joy I was getting a bit worried, oooh naughty twinnie 2, enjoy the next 24 hours, its about 10 days until your next scan isn't it

berry sorry it wasn't good, hope things are better next week. What did he say though

nelly I did wonder if lemon and I had the same date Grin

CritterPants · 07/11/2014 21:32

joy Smile Smile that is wonderful news. So pleased. I agree that the way forward is lots of reassurance scans, as the wonderful buzz suggests. Hurrah little ones, keep growing!

buzz you have been making me smile all day. Grin

berry so sorry the appointment wasn't useful. That is frustrating.

nelly enjoy your last glass of vino. I will eat my American Stetson if this doesn't work. Safe flight and I will have everything crossed for you this weekend sweetheart.

sam sorry the stress continues. I had absent cycles after stopping the pill and it was incredibly upsetting and stressful not knowing what was happening and not being able to even 'try'. Sad

lemon aw poor little lembie. Hope he's feeling better, little poppet, and that you're getting some sleep!

I go back in on Monday morning to check the levels are going up.

loopylou1984 · 07/11/2014 21:41

Thanks everyone - that's kinda what I think too, but after the dr said it's not unheard of for people to go 3 weeks without bnp I got my hopes up again. I tested this morning and still nothing :(

loopylou1984 · 07/11/2014 21:42

Critter - the thing I don't get is that I stopped the pill 13 months ago, I've been regular ever since and 21 day bloods showed ovulation... So why this month?
I feel like I've wasted a whole other month of potential baby making now ??

loopylou1984 · 07/11/2014 21:44

And yay for your good news Joy Smile

joycep · 07/11/2014 21:48

Nelly - I'm intrigued by this info you have found out. Do share. Really hope you get frosties, I hink you will with that number .

Thanks critter lovely x

Cosmonaut1 · 07/11/2014 21:53

Oh Joy!!!!! That is so amazing and so so wonderful. So is that 10 weeks? I'm so unbelievably relieved and excited for you. Wow.

Critter fantastic news, how strange the exact number. I'm so pleased. I hope you have an uneventful few weeks.

Nelly squeee, nearly there

Berry what happened at the appt?

loopylou1984 · 08/11/2014 07:46

Help girls!

Last night dh and I dtd, and when I went to the bathroom after there was blood mixed in with what came out (sorry if tmi), so I assumed af had arrived and (rather than upset) I was actually quite relieved.
This morning however there is nothing again... Should I be worried? I never usually bleed after.

raydown · 08/11/2014 08:42

Joy, how fantastic! I was holding my breath waiting to read your news. That's so cute that one twin was hiding behind the other :) can I ask what you think made the difference this round? Or do you think it is just a numbers game?

Nelly, like joy Im also intrigued to hear about your donor. Why do they time it so they give you more details after rather than before? Sometimes I wonder if it might be the easiest and simplest thing for us to try iui with donor sperm. I feel that donor sperm is different to egg though because of the pregnancy part. I do joke with dh that I might just go to Denmark because they seem to have a large sperm donor industry going on. Good Viking blood and all that.

Sam, I think af is probably on the way. I sometimes get that if it's a day or two away.

seamermaid · 08/11/2014 09:11

Joy - what amazing news. I'm so so happy for you. I'm sure you will be wanting reassurance scans. You probably know them already but FMC on Harley Street really put my mind at rest. I really think they are the best.
How amazing to be expecting twins. Pls take it easy.

Critters - I so want this to happen for you. Fingers and toes crossed that it keeps going up. It's time for twinblings!

Sending love to all the 10 plussers and newbies.

MuddyWellyNelly · 08/11/2014 09:40

Sea how lovely to see you, how are things with the sealet?

Ray, I've read the P likes to keep two donors as options so she never tells you anything until after EC. However that hasn't been mentioned in my case. I asked her to tell me some stuff and she did. Age, nationality, interests etc. She said the main thing is that she looks a lot like me which is disappointing as I was hoping for a bit more glamour Wink. Have you explored DS seriously? I agree that pregnancy overcame a lot of my initial reservations (as in, the bonding and growing a baby and being involved part) that you don't get with DS. Mr N and I also discussed a lot that he'd have to get used to looking at a child that wasn't part of me. It's a very personal thing, but one of the things I can't wait for (fingers crossed etc etc) is looking at a mini-mr and seeing the man I love in the child I love. It's a huge thing for him to give up, and something that you need to be sure about. But all that said, I don't think you need DS. You don't have fertilisation problems do you? You're just waiting for the golden combination. More waiting. Big hugs.

Sam I often find that pre-AF sex shoogles things a bit and you get pink afterwards, and then AF quite soon. Could be anything though, hopefully you get clarity so you can move on.

Joy how do you feel this morning? Is it sinking in yet? Tell us when we are allowed to officially use the C word.....no not that one, the one that comes with flowers and big grins Grin.

On our way. Up early this morning so a bit tired but off to get a coffee.

joycep · 08/11/2014 11:23

Nelly - best of luck!! This will be one of your last coffees. Enjoy! That's such a beautiful thing what you said and it must have been a huge decision for both of you but from everything I have read you won't give a jot once mininelly has arrived. Oh and please no C word! We have to find out whether they are healthy first and I'm going to be a bit like how euro was and not like any kind of attention or talk about the future. Doubt has already crept in 15 hours later, it's very odd how difficult it is to believe.

Ray - I don't believe for a second you need DS either. Mr Rays count is 5million, some men have zero sperm and They still can have babies. I also greatly believe it's much better to have better eggs than sperm. I have no doubts that you will get there. I think it is a numbers game for you but also tinkering around with different things.
Honestly i am not sure about this round. I am nervous about saying things too prematurely as we don't know the health of them yet and there could be something horribly wrong. So many times the doctors have mentioned we have a quality issue because we can't get anything to freeze. But quite a lot was different this round. They collected far fewer eggs so I was never in pain like I was in previous rounds. I had growth hormone. They used embryoscope so it was a 4 day transfer and not day5. But perhaps it is a numbers game because these are 29th and 30th embryo. None of the others were viable which seems a very bad statistic. (I read that 1in7 is suppose to be viable on average). I think I will ponder it more if they really become people.

Sam - bleeding after sex is quite common. I had it once and it was very disconcerting.

Sea - how are you doing? Thank you. We went to FMC last night and they were really good. We had a terrible experience with the head doctor at the birth company last year which is in the same building so I was slightly nervous but they were good. Mind you Probably helps that all was ok.
