A group of lovely ladies who've seen it all

OP posts:
Cosmonaut1 · 11/09/2014 13:42

Good luck Joy. Thinking of you. Need to catch up with the rest of you, thinking of you all.

Ginestas · 11/09/2014 13:57

Think I just had a post fail - bloody forrin interweb!

Anyway just quickly wanted to wish joy good luck. Hope it's all over and done with, that they got the golden egglet and you are recovering with crap tv and chocolate.

Hope mini sar enjoys nursery sar!

Loves to everyone else.

Poutintrout · 11/09/2014 14:07

Good luck joy Smile

hands tissues to Nelly

foxinorangesocks · 11/09/2014 15:14

Meh pink cm this morning. It was a nice thought while it lasted. Still has the potential to put me into a fantastical grump. Joy thinking of you and the golden egglets.

joycep · 11/09/2014 16:24

Nelly - I don't know anything but I don't think it's going to happen. I just have a sense it will be close but you won't go indi on is.

Critter - next week is so soon. This is it for you now. No more crap.

Fox - urgh at pink cm. I am sorry. Yiu have a very good luteal phase, I do wonder whether things happen with you. AF's are so grump making. Hope you are ok.

Ah ladies thank you so much for all the good thoughts and wishes. Thanks. Was in for 9.30 and got back at 3.30 . They predicted 5 eggs but got 8 so that is pleasing. I was quite impressed actually. I spoke with the doctor several times. The embryologist came in to talk with me before and after and it was our decision as to what to do. Much better communication than the last place and not so dictatorial. Roy's sperm came back with 25% morphology which is extraordinary considering it was 2% 6 weeks ago. Must be all the beer he has been drinking. So they are doing 100% ivf. Strange how I was on a lot higher dosage of drugs this round but nearly half the amount of eggs collected as last year but perhaps I won't be in so much pain. So all I can do is wait and see. Let's hope they get it on. I have demanded a day3 transfer if we get to that point but let's see if they fertilise without ICsi. Feeling immensely positive but that may be the cupcakes and pills I am onWink

OP posts:
foxinorangesocks · 11/09/2014 16:27

That sounds excellent all round joy! Really pleased for you Smile now rest up and think good thoughts.

Cosmonaut1 · 11/09/2014 18:25

Yey Joy amazing news, well done you. Am so pleased for you, have grinned all the way home.

Critter so glad lining was ok and you're good to go.

Nelly am liking your plan, that sounds really positive, so good to know what you're doing. This month would seem soon, but next isn't long at all.

Cosmonaut1 · 11/09/2014 18:30

Oh and Fox so sorry for the headf* goings on. Have you been temping all this time, what's happening with your temps? Either way you're definitely not menop.

foxinorangesocks · 11/09/2014 18:44

Cos I have two on the way up temps and 16 high ones. But pout is right it's not an exact science and I didn't do an opk. Pink cm normally means af imminent for me so guessing it will come tomorrow. It could have been daft to think a cycle post long downregging could rustle up a bfp but I had had a lot of estrogen and now I know my ovaries aren't total vacuous sacs it could have been a remote possibility. The cramps are a new one for me and I'm on day 12 of those. Strange but maybe I'm hatching up a mega period. Joy. It's so wretched isn't it and I was in a lovely mood til I got sight of period warning and then it went black. So I think the mood is just that, rather than hormones. So a pissed off sad Groundhog Day for me. But nothing of significance! How are you?

joycep · 11/09/2014 18:54

Fox - that is a lot of high temps. I always think that temp taking is quite a good science and the cramps seem suspicious too. Are you not tempted to test just in case?? I know it feels like Groundhog day though. burgh to all of this rubbish.

Cos - thank you lovely.

OP posts:
Buzzybee123 · 11/09/2014 21:35

joy that is great news, fingers crossed for you, will they call you tomorrow to let you know how things are going

fox isn't it 17 days of high temp is good news ?? Not sure where I got that from, pink cm could mean other things, just saying :)

nelly yay to ordering your baby Grin very exciting, you won't know anything about your donor, no photos and she will not be told if you get a BFP either. Yes babies do look like there dads, BB looks very much like Barry more like my annoying BIL I think the clinics have a few donors at the ready so unless you asked for a ginger I think most bases are covered, although with it being Greece you wonder how many blonde blue eyed donors are around.

pout love the sound of the shed, that is Barrys dream, to have his own shed Hmm glad the UTI's have ceared up, I am a big fan of Craghoppers winterlined trousers for being out in the winter weather :) hope the doggies are good

critter my immune guy liked linings around 7mm, fingers crossed for next Wed :)

waves to ray cos sar and gin

CritterPants · 11/09/2014 23:06

Congratulations joy - lovely news about the successful EC. Sounds like it went really well! Great news about the 8 eggs and Roy's better motility. Cue the Barry White!

fox sorry about continued stressful horridness. Sad Boo to pink CM. I wish you weren't still going through this uncertainty.

sar hope mini sar's first day at nursery went well.

buzz that is comforting about your doctor's take on the lining. She said that it was to do with the view, like if she squished the womble with the dildo cam at a particular angle, the lining looked thinner on the camera because it was squished. Confused I take heart remembering how stressful you found all this last year and yet here is beautiful mini bee.

ray do you know when your EC would be? I guess I must be in that case sort of on a similar schedule to joy…. if this were a fresh cycle, my EC would be tomorrow.

Love to everyone and yay for a good scan and reaching 12 weeks bunny, that seemed to fly, but then other people's pregnancies always seem to fly so I bet it felt like forever for you - really excellent news. Glad you're out of the nail biting stage.

cos how are you doing? Hope you're hanging in there ok.

Off on a hen do this weekend leaving tomorrow… with some serious American glamour pusses. Worrying about what to pack. Bride is a former beauty queen, completely different background to me and a total party girl but with a huge heart, she was amazingly kind and generous to me in January. We are going for afternoon tea in a very famous town in the South, and I've been asked to bring a fascinator (which I can't find) so a panama hat is going to have to do instead. Eek. Also need to bring clothes for a club (eeeeek).

MuddyWellyNelly · 12/09/2014 11:26

That is a really great result Joy and I feel optimistic that they will be better quality. Have you had the fertilisation call yet? Fingers crossed

That sounds very glamorous indeed Critter - EEK at going to a club. I really like the idea of it, as I love all that ridiculous music, but the reality is usually that I'm too tired. Ugh I'm so old! By the way I love that you are going to wear a panama hat, I can already picture you looking like a Banana Republic model Wink

No Buzz I didn't think I'd find much out at that is A-OK with me. They use a lot of non-Greek donors but I actually focussed more on my build which I reckon is going to be a more obvious thing. Mainly because Mr Nelly has the opposite colouring so I can blame any variances on him. Don't worry, no Gingers requested Grin.

AAAH Fox what is going on? High temps = suspiciously interesting. Pink CM = FFS. Big hugs, lovely.

Oh Sar wow can't believe Sarlet is at nursery already. Lovely to hear from you as always.

Waves to Gin, Cos, Pout, Ray and everyone else.

Got an email from P to say I could start right now if I wanted, she has a match and the donor was ready. Mr N is away so not sure what we are going to do yet. We have literally just paid off our mahoosive holiday credit card bill and have no money. Sort of feels sensible maybe to hold off, but then again, maybe I should just stop dithering and get on with it.

Thanks also for holding my hand re indy crap. I have the fear, but what will be will be I guess, and hey I was already looking into moving abroad!

Better get back to work for now.

joycep · 12/09/2014 11:53

Critter. - a load of glamour pusses? Wow! Have fun, let your hair down which you can do until next week.

Nelly- that's super quick moving isn't it. Money is obviously key but if you think you can fork it out I would say go for it. No dithering! Unless of course there is a very good reason not to crack on with it. I am a fine one for dragging my heals though and love taking my time over everything .

So 7 fertilised overnight. That was ivf as well so very pleasing. Let's see what happens tomorrow . 7 kids in the making?? Oh if it were so simpleSmile. And I am comfortably sitting at work. The last 2 ivfs I suffered a lot after EC so getting less has obviously been a bonus. But am famished and thirsty right now. On a fasting so I can go get my liver and glucose functions tested before they allow me to go on steroids.

OP posts:
joycep · 12/09/2014 11:54

Fox - any news? What are your temps like today??

OP posts:
MuddyWellyNelly · 12/09/2014 13:40

7 is great Joy. Aiming for a day 3 transfer still? Interesting about being tested before taking steroids. I have no idea why I would be taking them, but it appears I'm meant to, and certainly not getting any tests done beforehand Shock. You had intrallipids too didn't you?

CritterPants · 12/09/2014 13:57

Yay seven is amazing joy! Grin I have a really good feeling about this round. Why are you on steroids and for how long?

Nelly Wowee things are moving fast...I say do it! You've waited so long already. Grin

Fox what news today?

foxinorangesocks · 12/09/2014 14:43

Joy that is amazing! I have good feelings about this. To update my temps are still high but there was a bit of blood when I went to the loo last night. A tampon proved not needed and nothing today. For me, I always get a bit of spotty type stuff so fail to see that this isn't normal and I must have just ovd later but it's all unusual, which again is to be expected. My cramps have gone and my boobs aren't sore. Post downreg misery. But I did my tears last night and can't do them twice. Onward and upward. I will test tomorrow if nothing still but I'm already planning opks and leftover progesterone for next month. May as well see the last few cycles as 'free goes'. If only! Joy I'm very interested in your growth hormone treatment.

Critter my glamourous lady enjoy your clubbing! A hat will look ace and very chic. A club. What a novel thing Smile

foxinorangesocks · 12/09/2014 14:44

Oh and nelly wow you are set to go, if you're ready. I feel all tingly and excited for you.

joycep · 12/09/2014 15:21

Nelly- I was never tested either but they want me on 20mg which seems a heck of a lot. I don't think I will take that much as I had really bad insomnia on just 5mg. What is your dosage? I did ask the nurse why they were testing and she said it's the Liver that breaks the steroids down so that needs to be functioning properly. Not sure about glucose test. I think it is standard practice in Greece just to throw everything at it just in case you have an immune problem.

Fox - it's so bizarre that your temps are still high. I think if they clearly rise you can tell when ovulation took place. Hmm out of interest , if something did happen but your AF came, would you like to know or would you prefer not to know? I think I would like to know if I had had a chemical as it suggests that something has happened.

Thanks ladies, trying to apply the law of attraction on this one rather than my usual negative it won't work frame of mind.

OP posts:
foxinorangesocks · 12/09/2014 16:01

Joy I have had two faint lines on sticks followed by or amidst bleeding. I felt no better for knowing just totally mentalled out. That was October 2012 and July 2013. I think egg mouldiness is no doubt my issue which probably makes my whole hormonal chemistry misaligned for all the conception things that need to happen. Crap follicle, dodgy egg, poorly functioning luteal cyst etc etc. since level one tests were ok I've fretted less about immunes and it seems like the obvious thing is eggs. I actually am just rambling out loud now sorry! I don't think a chemical would change the route I'm on though. Maybe!

Poutintrout · 12/09/2014 18:45

*joy that sounds like fab news. Hope that you have a relaxing weekend.

critter Yikes at glam. What are these club things of which you speak?

sar How did Mini Sar enjoy nursery?

Congratulations bunny on your scan

buzz MrP has the hump that "his" shed is filled with my stuff Grin

fox any movement? I've got the same issue as you and blame the Super moon. I've been expecting AF since last weekend as I thought I'd ovulated super early (CD 9 type early and had been internally wailing about peri-M) I've been spotting since Wednesday and keep going to bed expecting to wake up in the night with period pain. It's CD31 today and I am pretty sure that I didn't ovulate on CD 16 but I must have done or maybe no at all. Whatever l'm getting thoroughly pissed off now and just want it to get its act together. BTW temps are definitely more scientific. I mean't that pains and EWCM aren't Smile

Wishing you all a lovely weekend

Cosmonaut1 · 12/09/2014 19:40

Amazing news Joy, I have everything crossed, keep us posted.

MuddyWellyNelly · 12/09/2014 20:20

Oh goodness Pout are you considered stripey hob nobs? Universe, enough with the headfucks. Just make these both BFPs and be done with it!

Poutintrout · 12/09/2014 21:07

Nah nelly I am just confuddled by the apparent mis-marrying of ovulation dates and AF. Sometimes I really do think that sperm meets egg but it just doesn't pan out and you get these odd cycles. Like fox I'm not overly keen on having that confirmed either. I just know that AF will arrive at some point. Spotting really does get on my wick though Grin
