Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Morning viroids,
Can I ask for some advice please, (being new to all this TTC malarkey,) is it enough to be JSing, or am I supposed to be changing my lifestyle too (am I supposed to be taking folic acid while TTC or after getting BFP)?

Also, I've lost track, who's next to POAS?

glitterbomb80 · 01/08/2014 10:02

Lala it's toe-ee - as in 'toey as a Roman sandal.'

I come from a classy country.

wilmabedrock · 01/08/2014 10:27

RM definitely start taking folic acid. I think they recommend 3 months before conception. Lifestyle changes are up to you really. Obviously if you smoke or drink a lot of alcohol you would probably want to address that. Some people conceive easily and don't need to change a thing. If that's not the case though, there are things you can eat/not eat which may help a bit and obviously being a healthy weight can help conception.

I will say that before my first pregnancy I was pretty fit and had a great pregnancy, felt amazing. This time round I wasn't fit beforehand and am not enjoying it! It does take it's toll on you and I think you probably have an easier time if you're in good shape to start with.

glitterbomb80 · 01/08/2014 10:35

rm I've had the Pregnacare pre-conception multi-vits recommended, they contain folic acid and other things to boost fertility. Particularly if, like me, you're a little older, the folic acid helps to ward off birth defects.

Have been on them for about a month now - bonus side affect, my hair and skin are looking bloody amazing for a change. Certainly helps with the JSing.

ChatEnOeuf · 01/08/2014 11:29

I'd suggest taking folic acid pre-conception, if you wait until you get a bfp you'll have missed most of the good it does.

glitter "As toey as a Roman sandal" I like it, a lot Grin

Lala5 · 01/08/2014 12:23

glitter Grin. Ha ha! I'm from Scotland and we can be just as classy believe me!

rm taking folic acid every day is recommended whilst ttc - you could take just folic acid or the pregnacare tabs are good they have everything in them that's recommended.

Pregnacare make your pee orange though Grin

Purplecircle · 01/08/2014 12:24

I got a bit lost on the toey thing.

I've got a day of shopping eating and drinking with my Aussie friend tomorrow, I need a break from life at the moment. She meds a break too so we'll console each other or just get pissed and spend lots

I did dig out my cape and disco pants though :-). It's all still a bit raw but have to get back on the horse husband

Lala5 · 01/08/2014 17:40

Nice one purple!

I need a hooyah please for symptom spotting. Going out with friends tonight to take my mind off it

BertieBotts · 01/08/2014 18:32

OK update on me - not pregnant and quite relieved because I still have to navigate the ridiculous healthcare system (I live in Germany).

I see the list at the top now! For some reason I couldn't find those two before.

ChatEnOeuf · 01/08/2014 18:57

Sad news, my little beans are sadly no longer with us. Had some almighty pain and bit of bleeding. Scanned and there's no HBs. I'm going to pour myself a very large glass of Wine and purchase some stinky blue cheese tomorrow before surgery on Sunday. Probably won't have the cape out for a few weeks while I work out whether two miscarriages in five months means my uterus isn't quite in the same place as DH and I :(

BertieBotts · 01/08/2014 18:58

Oh no Chat :( I'm so sorry.

glitterbomb80 · 01/08/2014 19:22

DulcetMoans · 01/08/2014 22:15

Sorry chat, that's us a cruel, cruel hand you've been dealt there. Plenty of support over on the MC thread if you need it. I've found it helpful for those post MC questions that you can't quite ask elsewhere.

Take care of yourself, take time and be kind. We are always here too.
