A thread for anyone TTC with a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor!

Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

Would love to hear from you!! Smile

Thanks donkle such good news congrats!
I'm day 25 and got low today!im taking these tests back to boots or will it ask for one tomorrow?

ChandlersFarang · 02/06/2014 07:07

Donkle that is fab news!! Smile thanks for stopping by and sharing. Congrats on your BFP!!

So I've got an appointment tomorrow morning at the doctors to try to work out what's going on with my cycles - that's twice the monitor's not detected a peak/my cycles have been too long for it. Am on course for at least another 40+ dayer again... I'm not sure I've actually ovulated either. Using the machine has been helpful in a weird way at least to see that I haven't had any peaks!! Will hopefully be back using it again after the docs work out what's going on. Smile

Will keep lurking to follow how you guys are getting on!! Who will get the next CBFM BFP?! X x

Hi Guieapig. Looks like you and I are on the exact same cycle path but I am one day behind. I had a high reading from day 10-14, peak day 15-16, another high yday and back low today day 18. We dtd each day except high day 17 so I hope I didn't miss the window of opportunity! Tww will feel like a lifetime! Possibly will drive myself crazy in the meantime symptom spotting!!
Sorry Chandlers that monitor didn't detect a peak, good luck with the doc tomorrow.

MILfreetoagoodhome · 02/06/2014 17:14

ah disaster alert !! didnt test today !! well i did but monitor didn't accept it because it was 12:10 not 12pm !! Angry so did the test anyway and guess what 2 big lines one thick one thinner but definitely more prominent than the other tests i've done so far !! blooming typical guess im going to have to persuade OH to DTD when he gets in at midnight from work. how long does an egg last after you have OV'd if i have actually OV'd im just going by the lines themselves probably another high and im just overreacting would upload a pic but dont have anything to upload on with usually use the tablet but OH has taken it to work

TheGrandHighWitch · 02/06/2014 17:31

MILfreetoagoodhome AFAIK you should ov 24-36 hours after your first peak (which is why you get two). The egg can then 'live' for between 12-24 hours so you should be good time wise I would think.

MILfreetoagoodhome · 02/06/2014 18:19

oh thank god for that i can stop fussing Grin that's the last time i press the snooze and relax for a few more minutes

TheGrandHighWitch · 02/06/2014 18:22

Something I have learnt from TTC is that you always do your tests etc as soon as you wake even if the beeping from the thermometer does wake your husband up. You can go back to bed after Grin.

Mel3062 · 02/06/2014 19:34

Good luck mil, chandlers I hope the docs are helpful tomorrow good luck

MILfreetoagoodhome · 02/06/2014 20:42

grand we had a lie in i pressed snooze at 11:30 and woke up at 12:04 no snooze had gone off lol was so disappointed oh well just hope it doesn't mess the machine up missing a test

TheGrandHighWitch · 02/06/2014 21:33

No you should be fine don't worry.

MILfreetoagoodhome · 02/06/2014 21:35

it said something in the booklet about it adding a day onto your cycle if you missed a day Confused

TheGrandHighWitch · 02/06/2014 22:52

I must have missed that bit in my booklet then.

MILfreetoagoodhome · 02/06/2014 23:04

I've got low on moniter today, said I can do preg test as 3 says to af though af should be earlier than that I reckon according to the other tests x

ChandlersFarang · 03/06/2014 08:54

Well, after starting this thread and spunking so much cash on my lovely monitor and sticks, i think I'll be leaving you all to it! Hmm I was diagnosed with PCOS this morning, which totally explains the super long cycles! Apparently there's no point monitoring anymore, as they won't be conforming to a normal pattern. The good news is that, being in Thailand with our work health insurance, I can get treated - they've already given me an injection today immediately after diagnosis and seem pretty sure they can get me upduffed so that's good! I'm handing over to them now. Good luck all of you, will check in to see if there's any CBFM BFPs soon!! Smile X x x

Sorry to hear that Chandlers but you're definitely in the right place to have great treatment. I was in Thailand when I had my mc in April and the doctors were incredible. Thinking of you and be sure to keep us informed. Thanks for starting such a useful thread x

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 10:19

Yes thanks chandlers. Sorry to hear your news but it sounds positive that you can be helped :) please stay in touch.

EagerBeaver101 · 03/06/2014 13:02

I got another high today Grin really want an OV though, got some good news today OH got a mortgage and im gonna get my dream house Grin

EffinIneffable · 03/06/2014 13:20

Hi ladies, wondering if you pro CBFM-ers could give me some advice? I've been using it for about six months, before and after a miscarriage. This month, it asked for sticks on Day 7 and 8 as normal, both readings said low, which could be normal for me (8 is usually high, but my cycles are a bit wonky). But I can't see any line at all on the actual stick. Do you think this means it's not worked or is that normal for a low reading?

Mel3062 · 03/06/2014 13:24

Eager hope you get postive soon, great news about the house though, exciting!
Effin- I think that's prob normal for a low reading as I had faint lines when I got high then none today on low but it's my first month so could be wrong :/

ChandlersFarang · 03/06/2014 13:29

Thanks Mel & blank! Sorry to hear about your mc blank, but definitely glad you got good treatment here at least. I'm happy too so far... Good luck! Smile

EagerBeaver101 · 03/06/2014 17:24

effing i got another high today but there was only one line so im beginning to think it doesn't work on lines ?!? Had lows before with 2 lines Hmm its so confusing

dildoos · 03/06/2014 20:06

Hi ladies wondered if any of you could shed any light?
Using a CB monitor, last month from day 10 got moderately high until end of cycle but no high , this month Today is day 19 and not even got a moderate yet! However this cycle my monitor was started by my neighbour as was away when cycle started and she set it in evening so hasn't been first urine, however in past when is used ovulation sticks didn't matter if am or pm I got smileys. Worried now 3 years on from trying and maybe I am not ovulating? I have DD aged 6 from previous marriGe so I did then. I have in past year had a 21 day blood test and levels she said were high so definitely ovulated. Sorry for long winded baffling.
