Welcome katewright! You can see this is a lucky thread at the mo!

Annie, maybe you'll be next!Smile I'm a bit foggy about the ins and outs of IVF- does this mean you'll be having some eggs harvested soon? I hope that's not too painful.... And what happens next- do they get introduced to some of DH's wrigglers in a petri dish?

stubbornstains · 26/09/2014 19:34

Oh, I just thought katewright- maybe you should use ovulation prediction kit sticks to see when you're about to ovulate? I never used them, but plenty here have....I charted, which is helpful in a different way, in that it helps you to determine when you're probably fertile by analysing your fanjo gloop, and then lets you know when you've definitely ovulated through your temperatures. I think if you have no idea what your cycles are doing, then the OPKs would initially be more useful. (sorry if you know all this already Blush).

Tranquilitybaby · 26/09/2014 22:28

OMG stubborn!!!!!! WOW Wonderful news! I love this thread, so full of hope. (Except I've kind of brought soon and gloom on it)

So thrilled for you and feeling privileged that we know before DP! Enjoy telling him x

Lots of EWCM here but did an ovulation stick today and only one line so no idea if I'm even ovulating. Think I should step away from them really.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 26/09/2014 22:32

Hi can I embarass myself and ask what does charting mean... Feel really stupid asking....

Tranquilitybaby · 26/09/2014 22:47

You take your temp early each day and the temps shift depending on ovukation etc, and if the stay up near AF the likelihood is your pregnant. Something like that anyway!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 26/09/2014 23:03

Thanks tranq.

stubbornstains · 27/09/2014 07:11

A book called "Taking charge of your fertility" is good, or here's their website:
www.tcoyf.com/

Their website, which tells you to stop taking your temperature the minute you get your BFP. Only I took it this morning, and my temperature has dropped right down. Which could be a sign of MC. Oh FFS......

AnnieHoo · 27/09/2014 07:59

Or could it be implantation dip stubborn?

stubbornstains · 27/09/2014 08:28

It's a bit late for an implantation dip I think......it might be fine, or it might be a bad sign. Why didn't I put away the thermometer? I was going to just take my temp this morning, then put it away! FFS.......everyone on the TCOYF website says "Put the thermometer away once you get your BFP, it's fine"- the moderator says that too- then she says "Temp drops are quite normal except at about 14-15dpo". And I'm at 15DPO. Oh, bloody hell. Temping is a double-edged sword.....

I'm still getting PG symptoms, though- and slightly increased- slight nausea, feeling of having been punched in the nose (this is A Thing apparently), and my boobs, quite quiet up till now, have started going all tingly.

Oh, fucking fucking paranoia. I'm going to have to take my temp tomorrow now, just to see if it goes up. Maybe PO another S on Monday......

Katewright699 · 27/09/2014 09:41

Thanks for all the great advice stubborn and I have just received my internet cheapy opk sticks from eBay so I think I'm going to do what you suggested at least until something bloody happens lmao and hopefully this thread is a lucky one for all of old cluckers :D a couple of years ago I was adamant I didn't want anymore now ive got it in my head it's all I effing think about !!!! Xx

Katewright699 · 27/09/2014 09:43

Was going to use the cheapies while I'm in limbo and if I think I've got a positive or nearing one at least was going to switch to the cb digital to confirm ... Does that sound like a good battle plan ? :D x

Gingerbreadlady1 · 27/09/2014 11:22

Oh stubborn step away from the thermometer..you've now gone & stressed yourself out hon. I'm sure everything will be fine, it's just a waiting game. I've never charted so can't offer any pearls of wisdom. But are there not loads of variables that can affect it?

My attitude to pregnancy has changed in that I now see a positive test as the first step towards, but by no means guaranteeing, a baby. I'm just taking it a day at a time. I'm still on constant knicker watch & aside from sore boobs (& leaking boobs the other night, wtf, at 6 wks?!?) I have no symptoms. But it's all out with our control, aside from drinking vodka in a hot bath, there's not much we can do that will impact on how things progress, so I'm trying to relax as much as poss.as the saying goes what's for you won't go by you. Try to enjoy it, bet you can't wait to tell do, how exciting!

annie I'm so glad it's going well, nice steady, equal growth is perfect at this point is it not? So glad it's not overly stressful. Are you staying with family in Edinburgh or commuting for scans? Sounds like you're taking it very much in your stride. Keep us posted!

I've Just realised how negative I sound, sorry. It's just my coping mechanism, I'll slink off now......

Tranquilitybaby · 27/09/2014 23:56

Stubborn - stop right now! Do not take your temp tomorrow, do as the tcoyf lady days and put it away!!! That's an order.

You can't control what's going to happen so just ride with it & don't cayse yourself any additional stress ? x

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/09/2014 11:15

Morning old birds, just casually dropping by......I'm sure stubborn absolutely didn't take her temp this morning...

OP posts:
Tranquilitybaby · 28/09/2014 13:58

She'll get a smacked bum from me if she did!!

stubbornstains · 28/09/2014 18:59

tranquility- ow! That hurt!! OK, I did take my temperature this morning and it had gone waaaaaaayyyyy up- to the highest it's ever been! I then promptly despatched the thermometer to honourable retirement in the bathroom cabinet Smile. So, I've been happy all day- now I'm freaking out because I just got a tiny bit of discoloured CM. As in, it wouldn't even count as spotting Confused. The worst thing is, DP has now caught the anxiety too- he says he gets butterflies every time I go to the loo....

God, I don't know how I'm going to get through 8 weeks like this- going to have to calm down! Actually, your advice is very, very helpful ginger, and a very good way to look at it. Glad to hear you're still doing well...

Fankletastic · 29/09/2014 09:14

Woohoo amazing news Stubborn!! I echo the advice about ditching the thermometer. After my miscarriage I decided to track my temp and lasted about 4 months before the stress became too much each morning...well the last few days before AF would show. It just always lurks in your mind and you can't just let things be, so I got DH to hide it for me. Months and then years went by and I felt the urge many times to track my temp, but it turned out DH had chucked the thermometer out!! I promptly ordered another one...and managed about 4 days of tracking before my mental health told me to stop. So it's not for everyone. But glad you have seen a vv high temp. Will you stop it now woman?!

annie have you started IVF now? Fingers, toes and all appendages crossed for you.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/09/2014 09:57

Y.Y about ditching those thermometers, Stubborn. Hope everyone's okay. God I feel awful. My period started Thursday was light Friday I was flooded off my feet, with blood clots (needed about 3 towels) because of the flow, Sat and yesterday. I would say normal flow but again with clots, and today I was awoken with terrible cramps and I'm back on heavy again. Had to phone in work sick.... Bloody periods.. Nightmare!. Just googled heavy periods but came straight off. Those sites have you imagine you've got everything. I did read about m/c though and heavy periods so I better do pg test. It's probably not but best to rule out everything. Hopefully it's just one of those nightmare periods.
I also hope this isn't a sign of the change!. (menopause)

stubbornstains · 29/09/2014 13:24

Cheers fankle! And how are you? You must be, what....25 weeks now? How are you feeling?

I must admit, I did find temping useful;- I did it for 5 months, and was able to tell that I definitely ovulated each month (geddon 40 year old!!). Plus, I enjoy drawing line graphs, and poring over them Grin. But yes, it can drive you mad at the crucial moments- the first cycle I charted was the only late-ovulation one I ever had (ov'ed day 28, the whole thing lasted 42 days) and I went mad trying to work out what was going on. However, if I hadn't charted that cycle, I'd've been going mad trying to work out why my period hadn't come and I was getting BFNs.......So horses for courses, I guess.....

ghost, have you noticed your periods steadily getting heavier over a period of time? That happened to me a few years ago, and then I started getting mid-cycle spotting too. It turned out to be a uterine polyp, which was easily removed- but it could well have impeded conception. I ended up getting pregnant 6 weeks later- without trying! Confused

AnnieHoo · 29/09/2014 15:41

Fankle!! Good to hear from you! How many weeks are you now? Time flies but your BFP does seem like ages ago now! The old birds thread is electric right now zzzzzzzzpp!!! Yes I'm on my wee IVF journey just one more scan on Friday and then egg collection is looking like a week today. Gulp.

Stubborn There you go!!! All that worry for nothing! Keep happy and strong and same goes for you Ginger.

GL everyone in TWW and sorry to those that were caught by the witch. Keep the faith - our time will come! X

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/09/2014 19:39

Not that I've noticed stubborn, but will be keeping a close eye on them (periods). Did a test earlier on. It was negative. The flow has settled now, perhaps it could have been something as simple as I just needed a rest, or hopefully it has just been one of those (more) horrible period.

Thinking of you Annie on your new and exciting IVF journey,

patch77 · 30/09/2014 20:29

So fed up, waiting and waiting. Good job I'm so busy at work. Keeps the mind off will this be the month or not. Got to wait until Af makes another appearance in October to see if I can get in for the hsg scan. Boo. No matter how often I sit on "the chair" in the office nothing has happened.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 01/10/2014 12:33

Pleased to report horrible nasty A.F has cleared off. Going back to work tomorrow. Not had any action since 19th Sept, so I summoned D.P to mine for a quickie earlier on, as he's working both tonight and Friday night, and not having it for nearly 2 weeks I was like a freeekin caged animal on heat, plus my fertile period is 3-7 Oct, D.D is going out on Sat so I'll be summoning him again on Sat. . (Lucky guy)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 02/10/2014 17:14

Bump.
It's so quiet on here.
