Bastard GP receptionist. They shouldn't be allowed to give out any information. Just spoken to GP - my thyroid test was 'borderline' but everything else ok. Progesterone levels 'compatable' with ovulation.

Thyroid needs to be checked again in a couple of months.

Tranquilitybaby · 09/09/2014 16:56

Ooh ooh ooh Ginger! I would tell you off for not waiting to test but I poas earlier myself, although it was BFN. Stupid of me really. I would think a superdrug test might well show a + at 12DPO, go go!! Xx

Oh notta what a bunch of twats. That's awful. :(

Tranquilitybaby · 09/09/2014 16:57

That's good then re your results Notta, especially the progesterone x

Sparrowlegs248 · 09/09/2014 18:01

Thanks tranquil yes they are a bunch of twats indeed. I don't know why people don't engage their brain. I know that people expect you to get upduffed as soon as you marry, and they don't know we are trying. Even so, they dpn't consider that we might be trying and failing and it might be sensitive...

Sorry about your bfn.

Has anyone else had a 'borderline' underactive thyroid?

stubbornstains · 09/09/2014 19:07

Oh dear notta, are these colleagues this insensitive about everything? I just tell people we're trying if it comes up in conversation- but then again, most of the people I know are sensitive enough not to go on about it in a crass way (note I deliberately haven't told my mum, though!).

It might be useful to actually find out what your progesterone figure is- it's possible to ovulate and yet have levels that leave something to be desired (my situation).

Sorry about your BFN tranquility- there is nothing worse than that pure white little window, is there...?

So, I had my transglobal underground this morning. The lady was really nice, and v. informative- none of that "I cannot possibly say, you'll have to wait for your GP to tell you" malarkey.....Womb is fine- there are "possibly" a couple of fibroids, but v. small, and they wouldn't get in the way of conception....Lining there (and "nice and juicy" Smile- luckily the appt. happened to be mid cycle so there was lots to see!). Ovaries all fine, with a MAHOOSIVE follicle on the left one- honestly, I'd heard they were surprisingly large, but it still shocked me! I mean, it was the size of the ovary, which is, what....the size of a small plum? No wonder we get ov pains! And the egg is only about the size of a full stop! Interestingly, ginger, although it's my left about to pop, the right one is still aching away, even though nothing of note is happening there....Maybe ovaries react to all kinds of tenderness and inflammation in that region??

So, there we go....nothing wrong with DP or I EXCEPT progesterone not as high as it could be, and a luteal phase not as long as it could be (and age, obvs Sad). So....off to the GP to threaten and cajole her into referring me to the fertility clinic then!

wonders if ginger's home yet

AnnieHoo · 09/09/2014 20:32

Have you tested yet Ginger?!

I'm in a mess here watching LongLostFamily. Sooooo sad!!!!!!Hmm

stubbornstains · 09/09/2014 21:10

I'm just off upstairs to watch one of the adoption documentaries that someone on the Adoptions board has painstakingly posted up links to......Keeping my options open, y'see Wink.

Tranquilitybaby · 09/09/2014 23:14

Hello ginger where are you?!

I must not poas until I'm at least 12dpo (Friday)

All in all that sounds positive Stubborn xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 10/09/2014 10:18

Thanks ghost! It's weird, very happy but scared. With 2 mc, last one in June, it feels like a trick & waiting for it to be taken away.

Ginger!!!GrinGrinGrin!!!!! That's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!! I could cry with happiness for you!!! It must be puppy love making you happy that did it ! Xxxxxx

BingoBonkers · 10/09/2014 13:16

Congratulations Ginger! Completely understand the one day at a time approach. So exciting tho!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 10/09/2014 13:32

Lol annie I do seriously think the puppy has helped. As we've been gearing up for ivf & with puppy madness we really weren't giving ttc that much thought &what do you know! Same as last time when I was on holiday. If things go well for both of us we should meet up with our summer babies!

bingo thank you, don't think it's sunk in. Will check reg that tests are going in right direction as that was first clue last time.

We dtd each of 2 days of pos opk & that was it, & used soft cups, think they may be a secret ttc weapon!

BingoBonkers · 10/09/2014 16:45

Really need to dtd the deed later but I have had a row with DH and it's the last thing I want to do. Shock

Tranquilitybaby · 10/09/2014 17:16

Excuse my French but fanfuckingtastic Ginger so thrilled for you!! Smile

So lovely to hear good news. Xx

stubbornstains · 10/09/2014 17:52

Oh my goodness ginger- squeeeee!! Hurrah!

Keeping everything crossed for you (except my legs- because it's DTD time tonight Grin).

Sparrowlegs248 · 10/09/2014 19:03

Wow ginger that's amazing! Congratulations!! FX for a sticky one for you. X
I was rather hoping AF would stay away - it was SA day today swell as AF being due. She turned up on time.

I called in sick today. Not because of my shirt day with insensitive colleagues yesterday. DH found my cat dead in the garden yesterday evening. It was truly awful.and I sobbed for hours. Woke up with an horrendous headache and eyes that were barely open. :-( Missing my boy so much.

So no doubt the colleagues will be insensitive about that too tomorrow.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/09/2014 19:03

I understand about you being happy but at the same time scared Ginger. I was like that when I was d.d after my mc. With my previous pregnancy I used to talk to the baby with d.d I didn't. I guess I was scared of something going wrong.
Bingo a good shag is an excellent way of making up!
I'm on day 3 of shag week so far dtd twice Monday 4 times yesterday and only once today. D.P took me for a meal this afternoon and brought me some sexy underwear! It was nice to have a rest tbh!.

BingoBonkers · 10/09/2014 20:52

Notta I think your colleagues are so unkind. They are lacking in their own lives which is why they are taking such interest in yours.

Ghost I shall have a large glass of wine and put the row to the back of my mind otherwise it's another opportunity missed.

Ginger I was in denial both times being pregnant in the early days/weeks. Didn't seem real and didn't want to believe it was real you know. Just in case. Which is all completely normal. Called self preservation.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/09/2014 21:21

Glad to hear it. Bingo. Have fun

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/09/2014 21:46

Aww Notta. Love and hugs about your poor cat. I'm not surprised you sobbed. You must be utterley distraught. Sorry to swear but your colleagues sound like a bunch of insensitive arse holes
