Oo Ginger sorry i think i I missed your post saying you're going for IVF in October! Grin V exciting! So quick!!! Great that you get to go private and keep your NHS go. Grin.

I'm starting on a long protocol (getting into a whole new lingo here ) . Ive started taking the contraceptive pill for 2 weeks then a week on Monday I go to the clinic for a scan to make sure my ovaries are "quiet". Then I start Buserelin down reg at same time as stimms.

We might end up doing it at same time Smile. We could have babies by June!! ( im allowed to hope!)

I've joined a couple of the ivf threads but still not really started yet so not saying much.

Being on the pill is great. I'm so calm and well adjusted these days Smile. Looking back this year I've been Nuts on clomid and driving myself to ill health with all this.

Inshock73 · 04/09/2014 11:40

Thank you everyone for all your lovely kind words xxxx

Would it be ok if I stayed on this thread? I can be a cheerleader for everyone :)

I wanted to update you all with my news because you've all been so lovely and an amazing support for me over the last 18 months and I'm hoping my news will bring a little encouragement to all 'older' birds :) xxxx

If anyone wants to ask me anything, don't care how personal, what position did we do it in or how big is DP willy, fire away :)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/09/2014 12:54

Of course it would be okay if you stayed on the thread. Talking of positions I was told years ago that I have a tilted womb. I asked what it meant and they just said Oh it's nothing to worry about really. It just means that you probably wont be able to give birth naturally and my friend said. If I ever wanted kids I'd have to do it doggy style. My angel and my d.d were both concieved in the missionary position, so another old wives tale.
Both of mine were concieved on the the first Friday of the month.
I wonder if my next one will be the same.

mampam · 04/09/2014 14:28

Congratulations Inshock that is fantastic news Smile and Grin at how big is DP willy

Hi Ginger Good luck with your IVF. I'm now just over 29 weeks, still getting the nausea but not actually vomiting anymore Smile

Ilive I too have a tilted womb but I've never been told about the doggy style thing. I do have to admit that DH and I do did a lot of doggy style so maybe it helped!!?

Tranquilitybaby · 04/09/2014 16:49

Yeah! Thrilled for you Inshock I knew you were!! It's lovely to have to positive news on here. So how big then ;0)

Gingerbread - exciting that you're having IVF next month! Everything crossed for you.

We've also taken a very chilled approach to TTC this konth, no OPKs, although I did download an app called Ovia that's quite good for tracking details and it telling you fertile days etc. I think I'm prob around 1-2dpo now and keep coming over a bit hot. Prob just progesterone as doesn't that make you flushed after ovulation?

X

Tilly73 · 04/09/2014 17:13

Brilliant news inshock, lovely to see you back on here GrinGrin
Wow mampam 29 weeks! That has flown Grin
Had a wobble today, sorry to be so negative but heard someone I know (very well) is pregnant..at 41..I know that sounds lovely but she smokes and drinks and it was an "accident". I know I should be pleased but I look after myself and do everything right and can't give my DH a baby Sad
Due to POAS tomorrow though and have been symptom spotting all week so fx, if not it will be plenty of WineWineWine

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/09/2014 17:56

FX for you Tilly.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/09/2014 18:00

I'm not seeing D.P tomorrow as I don't want to pass anything on to him. The last thing I need is for him to come down sick, especially when we're having a shag week next week.
I've summoned him to mine for 9am monday morning.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 04/09/2014 18:04

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/09/2014 22:05

Aww. Gingerbread. I'm so sorry. Love and hugs. xx

Tranquilitybaby · 04/09/2014 22:12

Lol I'm only joking, mwah! I'm on my phone to and keep missing names!

It's called Ovia, you can input symptoms, period dates etc and it gives you a fertility score, tips etc. It's free too!

stubbornstains · 05/09/2014 16:59

Whoops, late to the party but congratulations inshock! Every day I hoped there's be good news from you....and now there is! And you're already half way through the dreaded 8ww- have you plucked up the courage to call your midwife team and announce yourself yet?

....so go on, how big is it? Grin

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 06/09/2014 21:26

I've been seeing lots of groups of 3 magpies. D.P told me he had also seen them. I wonder if that means (assuming I get my BFP) we'll be blessed with a girl. I'm not bothered either way but D.P wants a girl. I already have a d.d so it's fair to say I'm more used to girls, but a boy would also be fantastic.

AnnieHoo · 07/09/2014 12:39

Ghost I have never been superstitious in my life but this ttc is making me desperate and If I see a magpie on its tod I've got to find the other one! I went out last week with the sole aim of buying some "lucky knickers" and I also have a lucky necklace. I hate EnvyLUCK!!Envy!! I'll be reading my tea leaves next Brew!Blush

stubbornstains · 07/09/2014 19:29

Aww, bless, ghost...DP does that too. There always seem to be 3..Smile. The funny thing is that he thinks I'm too woo- honestly!

Annie- I have to ask- what do your lucky knickers look like? Do they have little shamrocks all over them or something? Surely, though, when trying to get lucky in this particular department, the luckiest knickers would be no knickers at all? Grin

Well, we've had a lovely weekend- not one but two barbecues, a trip to the farmers' market and the allotment, and I've just christened my new wetsuit in a swim at the beach. This is part of a vague fitness drive, which can't hurt the TTC attempt. I always feel SO good after a proper swim! (Hopefully it will cancel out the bottle of wine consumed at BBQ #1 Blush).

AnnieHoo · 07/09/2014 19:32

I couldn't find any knickers that looked "lucky" enough so I'm searching! I'm not kidding.

stubbornstains · 07/09/2014 19:34

Get your pubes waxed into the shape of a shamrock perhaps?!

Tranquilitybaby · 07/09/2014 19:43

I've been brave today, took a deep breath and went a visited my cousin & their 5 day old baby girl. I put off holding her for a while as I didn't want to well up, but did in the end. Felt a bit emotional when DH held her but overall was very proud of myself. Trying not to think that in 3.5 we should've had a newborn of our own. :(

Onwards and upwards. If no AF, can test next weekend x

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 07/09/2014 20:24

Annie. I've always been supersticious.
Stubborn it looks like a little could be on her way to you. Mind you, you could go for ever couldn't you. A popular way is the pendulum or necklace put on your tummy and if it goes circular you'll be blessed with a son. If it goes backwards and forwards you'll be blessed with a boy. It worked on me and all my friends and my Dsis.
