Gingerbreadlady1 · 01/09/2014 15:46

Hi all, not much to report from my end. Must say a puppy is a brilliant distraction from ttc, feel way less obsessive!

We went to ivf open day & have decided we're gonna go for it whilst we wait for our nhs cycles. Will be staring prob end October, most exciting!

How's everyone else doing? Wonder what's happening with inshock, annie are you lurking?

Hi Gingerbread. Nice to hear from you. As you'll have A.F got me on Sat, so one is not a happy bunny. (I was formerly don't go to sleep) Incase you don't recognise the name.

AnnieHoo · 01/09/2014 22:20

Haha ginger yes of course I'm lurking! So happy your puppy is keeping you busy. I love my doggy soooo much he is my baby!

Great that you can do IVF privately while you wait for NHS. I've not heard from NHS IVF clinic yet. I didn't think we could do both so was going to cancel appt in 2 weeks with NHS ob/gyn.

Meanwhile I'm on the pill for 2 weeks before starting treatment. It's all happening now! Not expecting it to work but worth a try Smile.

I'm still lurking, waiting for some BFPs. Poor Tian Tian... Doesn't look like she's pregnant after all. Sad

stubbornstains · 01/09/2014 22:25

Awww....Sad

I keep on thinking, in a maudlin fashion: "Once I was a rabbit, yet now am a panda". Sad but Grin.

Corblimey, superfast annie, fx.....

Sparrowlegs248 · 02/09/2014 07:26

Morning all. Great news from purple!
I am going for day 21 tests today (on day 18.....hope I have timed it right ) and dh goes for his SA next week. I asked him last night if he wanted me to go with him, not least because parking can be dreadful and he is on a tight schedule (we live 30 minute drive from hospital) He said he'd get his Dad to take him. Um no dimwit. I may have snapped a bit. Why are men so clueless??

patch77 · 02/09/2014 20:53

First consultant appointment tomorrow. Feeling nervous. Don't know what's going to happen.

Tranquilitybaby · 02/09/2014 23:17

Hi gingerbread how's things with you?
Myra in determined to stay positive, what else have I got.

We need some BFPs in here please people!

Right who's testing when?

15th September for me

X

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/09/2014 17:24

FX for you, Tranq. and indeed for everyone else. I wont be testing till end of Sept and indeed for everyone else.
How did your appointment go Patch.
A.F cleared off now so dtd tonight.

stubbornstains · 03/09/2014 19:49

Yes, how was the appt patch? I was going to ask you too notta, but of course you won't get your results for a few days...

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/09/2014 21:23

Yes Indeed. How did it go for you Notta.
Seems I am ovulating already, I started to feel quite heavy before and though the witch was back so I went to wipe myself and I have loads of C.M rather the day after period ends. I am only on C.D 5.
We (me and D.P wont be getting much sleep tonight) I'm not going to give him a moments peace. Not that he'll be complaining.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/09/2014 21:24

*Rather unusual. Wish you could edit posts on here.

Sparrowlegs248 · 03/09/2014 21:32

Evening all, thank you for asking after me. I had the blood tests, not sure if i phone the Drs or if they phone me or what? Or even how long the results take. Any advice appreciated. We REALLY need to be dtd more from now on. I am a bit detached from the whole thing - I just don't feel 37!! I feel like I've got years ahead of me to be worrying about this stuff! AF due on Sept 10th, same day as DH SA!!

patch77 · 03/09/2014 21:57

Consultant was lovely. I've got to have a hsg test, due to see af around 18 sept so they will contact me. If all good with that he said 4 cycles of chlomid. He seemed quite happy with all the other tests we've had done and that it could be straight forward as long as no blockages.

stubbornstains · 03/09/2014 22:22

If they're anything like my GPs, you'll need to phone them or make an appointment to get your results notta. Maybe try after a week?

On occasions I've had EWCM for a whole week prior to ovulating ghost! (although none at all this month- go figure Confused). So you might need to be pacing yourself....Wink

That sounds interesting patch- I have an ultrasound booked for next week, and then my next stop should be the fertility clinic, so it's good to hear about your experiences. My GP's being a bit slow about referring me though- I think I'm going to have to give her a few "prods"...

Inshock73 · 04/09/2014 08:56

Hi everyone :)

Just popping on to catch up with the news.

Well, what can I say, I'm 8 weeks on saturday :) still in shock. I can honestly say I'd pretty much given up after a year of opk's, timed sex and obsessing over my diet, alcohol intake, coffee intake etc. The last couple of months I'd decided I needed to have my life back, I'd thrown away the opk, stopped timing and told DP lets go back to having sex for fun again :) I'd returned to coffee and we'd started to plan a holiday. How ironic huh? Saying all of that, my only symptoms are a missed period and sore boobs and they come and go! No other symptoms whatsoever! So my DP and I have decided to be really chilled out about it and 'see what happens', we're not forward planning at all. Last year when I had a mc I was told a lack of morning sickness can be a sign that things aren't progressing as they should be and mc rates are higher amongst women who don't have morning sickness.

But at the moment, it's one for team 'Old Birds!" :) A BFP for an old bird aged 41 :)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/09/2014 09:41

Hi Inshock. Brilliant news. Delighted for you.
I've had to call in work sick. . I felt awful this morning sickness ect. Being up shagging all night probably didn't help, either (I'm shattered) but let's hope it was worth it Feel slightly better now but have to take 2 days away. Company policy. Off next week too, so back on 15th.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/09/2014 10:10

Congratulations inshock that's wonderful news! I had heard that about lack of sickness, but a girl at work had totally put paid to it by not having ANY sickness, no symptoms, nothing at all. A breeze of a pregnancy and just had a beautiful healthy baby. Best wishes to you!

AnnieHoo · 04/09/2014 10:32

Brilliant news inshock and you're quite right taking it day by day. Congratulations on reaching this milestone in your pregnancy Smile xxx

NewEraNewMindset · 04/09/2014 11:12

Oooh gingerbread de lurking to say good luck with the IVF Grin. Praying it works beautifully for you xx

NewEraNewMindset · 04/09/2014 11:21

Inshock that's brilliant news, congratulations. Always gives us oldies some hope when over-40s have successful pregnancies. I'm always reading out celeb stories to OH, particularly if they have fallen pregnant naturally and often after mcs - Claire Sweeney for example.

Well I am around 2/3 dpo. Think I ovulated but didn't use any opks or my CBFM. Funnily enough it was a lot easier without some bit if technology telling me I am broken. I checked my cervix everyday and it was SO obvious that I was in my fertile window, considering I often check it for AF I don't know why I never checked it before for OV!!

Anyway I have decided to get rid of my CBFM. I think my hormones are now to weak for it to pick up my tiny LH surge and so it ends up costing me money for no peace of mind at all. I am thinking of investing in an Ovusense monitor as I think that stands a very good chance of detecting ovulation and at least I would know if I had actually ovulated or not. I'm going to email them and see if they know of any reasons why it wouldn't pick up a temp shift when TTC over 40 as I imagine the temp shift would be a smaller variation or a slower rise.

Anyway, essay of a post, haven't written on this of the mc thread for a while and now can't shut up lol
