It must be really difficult dontgo when you don't live together. stubborn is in the same position. Well have a good night tomorrow Wink

annie that's horrendous! Beautiful to live on an island but guess the practicalities can be tough. Ooo, I'd so live a natural bfp, hope you're right. However no idea what's going on in my current cycle. New drugs not working, boo!

When do you have to decide Ginger? It's pretty exciting!

I'm still undecided. My folks are in Edinburgh so I planned to stay there a couple of weeks for treatment. The clinic said it would be no more than two weeks but could be called in at short notice during that time for scans egg collection then embryo transfer so need to be around.

The infirmary is just off the Edinburgh bypass so may be not too bad for you. You want it to be as stress free as possible so you're relaxed.

If we go NHS I don't know if I'd have to stay in Dundee or if I'd drive 1hr 30m and stay in Edinburgh.

The stressful bit for me is asking for time off new job... Whichever new job that will be Wink Next interview is a week on Friday.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/07/2014 20:16

Hi all, how's everyone doing? Where's everyone gone? sebs, tilly, stubborn, fankle, mampam, patch, lucie, fatty, tranquil and everyone else.

dontgo hope you're evening goes well.

farfall, how's things with you?

annie, think the sooner I decide the better, I will get apt in a couple of weeks to get amh result so would like to know then. Think I may be leaning towards Dundee, would get treatment before Xmas! Do I think you'll do edinburgh or Dundee, leaning to either?

I'm heeeere! Sitting on the porch of the local arts centre (where my studio is) borrowing their wifi because my internet is broken! Will update properly when it's fixed!

Just a thought- surely there are loads of shit-hot redundant panda fertility specialists in Edinburgh at the mo? Maybe they've got jobs in the IVF clinics?!

Another thought- I had a NCT friend with a small baby and a young cocker spaniel. Because they weren't getting pregnant, so just decided to get a puppy anyway.....Grin he he he

farfallarocks · 24/07/2014 13:43

Hello, exciting times for all those in the TWW and choosing clinics!

So chat with DH went better than expected, he was really supportive and keen to do IVF if we have to. Phew!

I had a meeting with the consultant today, my scan was ok apparently, AFC of 10. Results still suggest decreased ovarian reserve however he did say a natural conception is absolutely possible.
Plan is to test DH, if his swimmers are ok, try naturally for 3 months (no pressure then!) and if not, start IVF in October. There is no waiting list but it won't be NHS as we have DD already (fair enough!).

Just deciding whether to stick with him, he has a lovely manner and is very available, IVF woul dbe at The Lister or go to the ARGC which has great success rates but is a clinic of last resort and very very full on (lots of tests, daily blood tests, some controversial treatments).
Still hoping for an ironic BFP!
DTD starts tonight, I am on CD10 and on highs with the shag dictator!

For those doing AMH it really is still quite a new test and I think it can falsely alarm in many cases. I am reading lots of stories of people conceiving with low AMH so just in case you get a bad result, don't panic!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 24/07/2014 21:37

Yay stubborns back! Lol at panda comments, so have they confirmed the pregnancy, apparently pandas can have chems too!

farfall so glad the talk with dp went well, you're sounding really positive which is lovely. You have big decisions too then? It's all go go go on ivf for the old birds. That's great natural conception is still possible.

I'm day 24 on new meds & finally have positive opk after I think 10 days of highs on cbfm. We're already shagged out, poor dp is shattered & neither of us remotely in mood. Which led to turkey Bastet jokes, which led to my soft cup confession. Offered to provide it to him which had completely killed any romance, sigh.....

Hi gingerbread yeah our evening went well . D.p coming round again 2night. For more baby making. It can be difficult not living together but we just make the best of things. We've decided that if I'm not pregnant by September we're both gonna take a week off work. Where we have more time to Dtd. Will have to google fertile period for September to book off a suitable week. We both have this Tuesday off so will also be putting that 2 gud use. Anyway enough about me. How are things with u. Hope everyone else is ok 2 . X

Tranquilitybaby · 26/07/2014 03:56

Hello! Check king in from sunny Florida. Just what the doctor ordered.

My 3rd AF since my ectopic is here so we can TTC once I've finished. I'm ready again now (I think) trying to keep positive about it x

Spangila · 26/07/2014 08:19

Hi everyone. I'm new! Grin

Out of interest, how old is everyone? I'm 44 and this is my first time TTC - I'm a late starter lol. I've only been off contraception for 8 months. Plus DP works away so DTD on the correct dates isn't easy.

lucieloos · 26/07/2014 11:19

Hi everyone, I'm still here, AF arrived this morning unfortunately! I had been getting lots of symptoms during this 2ww and felt really rough with nausea (actually wrenching at times), back pain, twinges, cramping. I'm wondering whether it is to do with pregnacare vits. I never normally feel that bad and can't face a 2ww like that every month! Wondering whether to switch to normal folic acid?

This will be our 5th month of TTC (although tried for 3 months last yr as well before deciding to get married). I know it's not all that long but finding it harder every month. I think DH is feeling it too and wondering why nothing is happening for us as lots of our friends and family are getting pregnant at the moment and seemingly very quickly and easily! When do you think I should go to the doctors for tests and check up? I was wondering whether to book an appt in this month as will probably take a couple of weeks to get one so will be half way through 5th cycle then?

patch77 · 27/07/2014 08:55

I'm here. Nothing to report. Just waiting for our appointment or a miracle to happen. Going away for our anniversary tomorrow. It's interesting reading all the progress people are making.

Tilly73 · 28/07/2014 11:24

Hi everyone, home from sunny Spain now..we had a lovely relaxing time
Hello to all the newbies hope to see some more BFP's on here soon!!
My AF started the first day of my holiday so though it was a pain was glad to be back to normal
So really I'm on a 2ww if my cycles are normal again..be nice to have a holiday baby Smile

Fankletastic · 28/07/2014 23:27

Hi chicks

Just caught up with thread...glad to see that things are beginning to move forward for some of you. Fingers crossed for ironidiffs in the lead up to iui and IVF though....I am proof that the ironidiff can happen- we had our first appointment at the acu on 1st May to plan our first iui cycle, which we wanted to do in July. My period was due the next day but didn't show up. I didn't test until the next day because I had been fooled far too many times before and fully expected AF to show. But I bit my lip and tested and got my bfp on 3rd May! Am now 17 weeks! Still can't really believe it and having to pinch myself at times. Heard baby's heartbeat last week at 16 week check. A huge relief! Only 2.5 weeks until 20 week scan...feels like this bit is going a lot faster than the 1st trimester but I still get really nervous about each appointment.

Wishing the same success to all of you ladies. Stay strong.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 29/07/2014 21:31

Hi everyone!

Great news fankle, can't believe that's 17 weeks.

tilly a holiday baby sounds good, all that sun & relaxation must help.

Sorry patch I forget, what's your appointment for?

lucie I'd make the appointment. No harm in it & when 35+ ttc for 6months you should be referred to fc specialist. It's cruel that AF & preg symptoms are the same.

tranqulity that's fantastic you can start again. Hope you're having an amazing holiday.

Hi to everyone else

AnnieHoo · 30/07/2014 11:10

Fankle great to hear from you, also can't believe it's 17 weeks - you are living proof that things can go well in the end! Keep doing what you're doing and keep us updated on progress Smile.

Loving the holiday reports - all this hot holiday action is bound got get us some BFPs!!

LucieLoo I agree with Ginger you should book an appointment with GP now. If you were trying last year for 3 months then tell them you've been trying for a year. I know it's technically not true but some GP's will give you the tests after 6 months if you're over 35 and some like mine tell you to wait a year so you don't want to walk out of that surgery without bagging those tests! You need to know if you're ovulating or not and if you need help. Information is power!

Spangila - Welcome!!! I think most of the chicks are late 30's/early 40's. I'm 41. Have you been to GP for tests?

Ginger are you in 2ww yet? How is the medication? Have you done any more research to help you decide on IVF clinic?

Spangila · 30/07/2014 13:59

Hi Anniehoo

I've not been to my GP yet, although I'm ancient, its still early days :)

Gingerbreadlady1 · 30/07/2014 14:03

Hi & welcome spangila, I'm 38, how old are you?

annie I'm in 2ww but not convinced I ovulated despite pos opk. Pretty much convinced it won't happen naturally now anyway. My weeks been taken over by all things puppy, a brilliant distraction from all this shite!

Still don't know where to go for ivf, think amh test rests will help decision. If it's low will do Dundee, if healthy will do glasgow next May. How's things with you? Sorry AF got you.

She hasn't got me yet just temp drop. But she will get me.

awww PUPPY TIME!!!!!! How is she settling in? Tell us some puppy news!

Dontgotosleep · 30/07/2014 20:12

Yes Gingerbread. Tell us more about your gorgeous little puppy. I could do with cheering up as I'm not seeing D.P tonight. He was called into work. DTD yesterday though and will again on Fri. A.F due Monday.

Have to confess I have been wondering what our baby could look like. Does anyone do this or is it just me. Me and D.P are like polar opposites. He tall with light hair abd brown eyes and slim. Where as I'm quite small to be blunt fat. I have green eyes and dark hair. Just very interested to see what genes he/she could inherit x

Gingerbreadlady1 · 31/07/2014 08:59

He's a black cocker spaniel, 9 weeks & is absolutely gorgeous. I'm shattered though, I've never had a dog & it's hard work. Toilet training not going well. It's all good practice though Smile

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 31/07/2014 13:45

fankle that is great news, you are the ironidiff inspiration!
ginger love the romantic chat, hope you managed to DTD after that.

Good luck to everyone in the 2WW and boo to AF!
LUCIE I would definitely get the ball rolling, it will give you reassurance if all ok and if not ok, you are not wasting time!

I am almost 35 but my FSH and AMH levels are apparently those of a 45 year old so I feel at home on this thread!
DH off for a jizz test next week but I think we will start IVF in Sep or October as we managed to not DTD at all this month as DH was stressed about it all and felt it was 'pointless.' Hmmmmmm.

Hello to tilly patch and spangilla - its a pain when you miss the dates isn't it, feels like you miss a whole month!

patch77 · 01/08/2014 20:01

Hi ginger

Just to find out why we can't conceive. All our tests have come back normal so waiting for the fertility specialist to get in touch. Good luck with the puppy.

Dontgotosleep · 04/08/2014 16:49

I'm out for this month. Period arrived this morning.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 04/08/2014 20:10

Good luck with tests patch, I hope you get some answers.

dontgo sorry to hear that, treat yourself.

How's everyone else getting on?

The witch is due wed here, first cycle on new meds so not sure if it will come later. I tell u what, if a baby is harder work than a puppy, god help me if I ever do get up-duffed!
