Welcome to all the newbies, here's hoping for more BFPs soon!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/07/2014 11:39

Welcome to the coop dontgoto sleep. Liking your style! How's everyone else doing? Very quiet here. I'm on cd20, had really clear ov pains on thurs, no peak on cbfm, been getting highs since thurs. No idea what's going on. Also 1 min getting two clear lines on opk's, the next no line or very weak but still not had line stronger or same as control. No idea Confused, any suggestions?

In other news. We got a fur baby yesterday! Picking him up next week, little cocker spaniel. I'm in love!

Dontgotosleep · 20/07/2014 11:47

Hi Gingerbread. Thank you for your welcome. Aww how adorable about your fur baby.

AnnieHoo · 20/07/2014 19:14

Welcome dontgotosleep!

Hope you've managed to get a whole lot of little guys up there waiting for ov!

ginger how exciting !! Is it a he or a she? Is it a puppy?

Are you still on the progesterone cream? I forgot to get some, was going to give it a try. I'm 3dpo now though so might be too late.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/07/2014 20:51

A cocker spaniel pup, wee boy. Ridiculously cute. Will post some pics once we get him. Been talking about it for ages but didn't want to be preg/have young baby & young dog. Ha! How niaive.

Congrats on the job annie, when do you start? How did the wedding go?

I'd go for it with the cream. You're supposed to not start using it till well clear of ov.

AnnieHoo · 20/07/2014 21:24

Aww he will be so gorgeous!!! My wee fur baby is 4 now and I pour all my love on him. Poor dog. You will have so much new-puppy fun.Grin

Haven't got a start date for new job but just to spice things up I've got another interview in 2 weeks for a job I really really want. Why does everything happen at once?

Wedding went well! The sun shone, it was beautiful on the beach and I managed to sing in tune Smile

Is your ivf appt on Tuesday?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/07/2014 21:56

Oh, that's exciting annie lots going on for you/lots of distractions.

Well remembered, it is on tue. That's for nhs apt, have you been advised yet of waiting times?

OP posts:
AnnieHoo · 20/07/2014 22:04

Yes, I wrote to the clinic and asked. They said 4 months from referral which is pretty amazing! Decisions to make... Will be hard asking for 2 weeks off new job when to go away for ivf treatment. Praying this is our month and we don't need it!!!!!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/07/2014 22:20

4months till treatment! That's amazing!!! We were 4 months from referral to initial apt but that is just to get on the list. Which health authority are you on?

Fx neither of us need it!

OP posts:
AnnieHoo · 20/07/2014 22:33

My island health board has a contact with Nhs tayside so it's Ninewells. They said "We should be able to treat within four months of receipt of the referral" - just read it again as I was really shocked too. I have a feeling we will get rejected though as my bmi is 34 and needs to be 30 and they are very strict. I am working on losing the 1.5 stone.

AnnieHoo · 20/07/2014 22:33

contract

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/07/2014 11:12

Wow, lucky you. You still been out walking lots? 1.5 will be tough but very do-able

OP posts:
AnnieHoo · 21/07/2014 12:15

I was doing well with the walking and then the holiday made it all go to pot. Back on track now though and at my lowest weight for 2014.

NHS in Scotland were meant to be doing away with the postcode lottery of IVF waiting lists. The wait is much much longer at GGC and Lothian and I think it's just because there is very little demand for it where I live (aged population etc). I don't actually believe that 4 month thing. Our next gynae NHS appt is 8 weeks so he's going to tell me if he's heard anything then. I think they will say 'sorry you don't meet the criteria'.

Just went for a cervical smear which I have to have up to date before starting IVF and the nurse was saying that I couldn't have a smear until 3 months after miscarriage incase there is trauma in the cervix but I managed to convince her that it is very nearly 3 months so that's that done.

I'm putting everything in place for starting IVF but I'm starting to think maybe I am going to get preggers naturally... oh god it would be SO good!

I am so sorry everyone for hogging / killing this thread with my stories!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/07/2014 13:09

On the contrary annie, no one else is chatting! Hello lurkers! Please speak up, even just to waffle shit like me.

Sounds like it's looking good for 4 months annie, how amazing would it be to fall naturally. We are long overdue some bfp's for our thread. Keep up the good work, your heading in the right direction, it is soooo difficult. I'm looking forward to long dog walks to get fit! Also secretly hoping that a distraction will make it happen, one of those "oh I'd given up hope & it just happened" stories.

stubborn where've you gone?

How's everyone doing? new birds, how's things?

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 21/07/2014 16:44

Hello everyone, just trying to catch up on where everyone is.
annie that sounds really exciting, 4 months is nothing really.
Are you doing anything else to prepare for IVF? Acupuncture etc?

I have had had more bad news today, AMH is less than 5 (4.3 I think) and the consultant wants me to come in and see him asap. All pointing to diminished ovarian reserve and with my levels even IVF might not be an option. Feeling really low and I have to tell DH tonight. He is really anti IVF and I need to convince him! Eeeek!

AnnieHoo · 21/07/2014 18:47

Hi farfalla
Nobody in my area does acupuncture unfortunately - I would otherwise.

Sorry you're feeling low about your AMH result. The thing about AMH levels and follicle counts is that it's quantity they are measuring, not quality. I got an ok AMH for my age but I know from my miscarriages that the quality is bad..

Quality is all that matters. We just need that ONE good egg to pop out. Its a total lottery...

OP posts:
AnnieHoo · 22/07/2014 15:35

Hope it went ok talking to DH last night Farfalla.

Ginger hope the IVF meeting goes well today.

Dontgo I'm on 2ww too, due to POAS a week tomorrow.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 22/07/2014 18:39

farfalla hope you're okay?

annie how's things with you? Meeting went very well. Persuaded them to give me amh test. Will start ov induction iui in a few months. Will prob get ivf next May but have option to go to edinburgh which will prob mean jan or Dundee which would prob be dec. better than expected all in!

OP posts:
AnnieHoo · 22/07/2014 19:35

Great progress Ginger. Not long to wait for IUI and if we're not up the duff before Xmas I might bump into you in Dundee! Smile

Gingerbreadlady1 · 22/07/2014 20:13

We don't know what to do! It's 1.40 to Dundee or 1.15 to edinburgh plus traffic/parking hell. Arghhh why is it all so bloody difficult? No fair. No bloody fair. When's the next interview annie?

OP posts:
Dontgotosleep · 22/07/2014 20:29

Hi Gingerbread. Definatly a symptom spotter. I think most ttcers are though, aren't they. Just wish we could fit dtd in everyday. Looks forward to jumping on D.P tomorrow. x

AnnieHoo · 22/07/2014 20:48

Ahh that's nothing! I've got a 3 hour ferry and then a 6 hour drive!! Shock

Great that you have the option to go elsewhere. Both have v good reputation. The consultant I saw in Edinburgh is also comsultant at the ACU for Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, he has an excellent reputation.Smile

But we won't need him. I've got a feeling...
