Hi all...is it ok if a stowaway from fab 40's joins this thread too?

Im 43 and have been ttc number 6 for 10 months now.
Have a ds 20, dd 17, ds 14, ds 11 & ds 4. (Plus 2 darling angel babies who would have been 25 and 18 this year)

Am taking dong quai, agnus castus, red clover, evening primrose oil, selenium, magnesium and calcium as well as folic acid.

Have had no luck so far but last fertile period tried soft cups and conceive plus for the first time.....currently half way through my tww....af due in a week.

Usual pre menstrual symptoms so far of crampy ovaries, tender boobs and feeling crabby.

So....thats me....am I allowed to stay please. ...with sprinkles on ? ? :)

Hello and welcome fishwife! I'm considering visiting the "other side" more regularly too- there appear to be some interesting discussions going on about hormones'n' that...Smile

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 08:28

Hi & welcome fatty, hope youre chatty as everyone here seems to have gone quiet! That's an impressive brood, Christmas must be great at yours!

How is everyone?

Well I'm at the beginning of my first cycle post clomid so no idea what's going to happen, really hope it's not a 60 day-er.

Tilly73 · 08/07/2014 16:47

Hope everyone is ok, I'm still lurking but nothing happening! Have looked on the mc threads and this can be normal, just hope my body hasn't decided its menapause time!
On holiday on Sunday for 2 weeks so prob won't be on here much Smile but plenty of DTD unless AF comes

AnnieHoo · 08/07/2014 19:53

Hello and welcome fishwife. I went for initial consultation at ivf clinic today. Internal scan and AMH test to check ovarian reserve before deciding weather or not to do ivf. feels good to be doing something...

Tilly73 · 08/07/2014 20:05

Hope you get your answers soon Annie and can start treatment asap Smile

AnnieHoo · 08/07/2014 20:14

Tilly have you had any tests recently like FSH and LH? I'm sorry I can't remember.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 20:19

Hi tilly, been wondering how you're getting on. Try not to worry, it's sooo unlikely to be menopause and very, very likely to be due to m/c. Your body is just getting back to fighting fertility fitness. Where you going on your holly bags?

annie, been thinking about you today & wondering how you got on (keep posting on the opposite thread to the one you pop up on!). Very excited about your consult? That's great news about all those follies. You seem to be very fertile, just needing a wee bit of help for the end game same as me (& many of us on this thread). So amh results back then what? Was it spire? Are you doing a reccie anywhere else? Also how was your holiday?

stubborn you must be nearly at poas time?

Hi to the lurkers! Speak up!

OP posts:
Tilly73 · 08/07/2014 20:30

No I haven't had any tests done, they probably won't unless I miss 2 cycles.
On holiday on Sunday and am not I repeat am not POAS whilst I'm there!
I will POAS Friday again though if no AF appears just to be sure before I go! Wink

AnnieHoo · 08/07/2014 20:49

Oh Tilly have a briiiillliant holiday Grin just relax and forget all this shit. It's been a hard year. Time for being gentle on ourselves and just being...

Ginger. Yes spire. V quick. Told zero alcohol. All tests done. Ready to start ivf. At same time ready to start ivf on nhs. Need to find out waiting time and then decide. V like your situation.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 20:50

Lol! Get it done before you go & you can completely relax. Will that not be 2 cycles by the time you get back from holiday?

OP posts:
stubbornstains · 08/07/2014 21:02

Congrats at getting things moving Annie!

(sticks fingers in ears) Lalalalalala......

AF is not due til Saturday (assuming I have the 14 day luteal phase I had last cycle) and I WILL NOT POAS until she's overdue!

I am not symptom spotting at all no no no no no no no.

(Keep getting funny abdominal flutterings/ bubblings/burrowings WHICH IS JUST WIND).

stubbornstains · 08/07/2014 21:12

In other news, big night out tomorrow! Pixies at the Eden Sessions! I've been looking forward to it for months. And now DP has some kind of stomach lurgy and has disappeared. Well, he's not answering his phone. Asleep, I suppose Hmm. And he was going to be the Designated Driver. Maybe I'll have to go on my own, which means I won't be able to drink. Which, I suppose, means I'll not be fretting over whether to drink or not because....well, just because Grin

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 21:26

Just because of weird, wind induced flutterings eh stubbornWink. I have complete faith you will not poas early. Complete. Faith. 100%. But if u do, don't dick about with IC, frers are the way to go. Just saying. Lalalalala.

If dp sick, take a friend, girly night & fairs fair, they can be designated driver in exchange for ticket.

X post annie. Zero alcohol, gulp. V v v excited for you, we're in the same boat, when's your nhs apt? What's spire success rates/price? Think we'll go with gri due to cost but got open day booked for gcrm in aug. Bet you're dying to find out amh although I don't think it's the be all in ivf, just a part of the picture. And your multiple follies today bodes very well.

Tilly73 · 08/07/2014 21:39

Stubborn..step away from the sticks..well at least til Sunday!
Exited for you Annie Smile
Yes gingerbread it would be 2 cycles by the time I get back if AF doesn't show, will have to visit the docs by then!

stubbornstains · 08/07/2014 21:50

Stick strike! We will, we will not be moved....Grin.

I bet you've never been so desperate for AF to show, have you Tilly? Must be bloody annoying....Hope you manage to forget about it on holiday.

FattyFishwife · 08/07/2014 22:08

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 22:13

spot. I try to keep busy but with your family, that must be a given Smile

Anyone seen the thread "so annoyed by over 40's with kids" or some such? I'm gonna have a nosey.....

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 22:21

Oooooo! We get a mentiey (scots for mention), it's good....I'm off to read more. The gist is as the op has low fertility apparently (post 4 kids) everyone else should be too!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 22:38

It's on infertility section. kegirl was there!!! I miss her. We need more cake & dress pictures Sad

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 22:39

It has indeed *stubborn, it sounds like op isn't very well, a bit sad really.

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/07/2014 22:57

fatty I just read over my post to you & I think I've came across all wrong. Didn't mean to imply because you have kids you won't be crazily symptom spotting. Meant that it would be easier to keep busy. removes foot from mouth sorry!

OP posts:
stubbornstains · 09/07/2014 10:09

Well, big temperature drop and spotting this morning. So much for the LP staying the same every cycle eh- it looks like this one will be 11/12 days Sad.

Oh dear, I feel very down right this moment. We did everything right this cycle- DTD at the right times, it looked like a nice "normal" healthy cycle....up to 18 months ago I seemed to be uber fertile, and now.....nada. If only I knew how quickly things could change Sad.
