Me and ds1 have just spent the last half hour crying, he's just come in after a scrap with his little brother over a football ( happens every time) resigned himself to his room and I've just tried to make Jim have a diplomatic chat over him playing with friends from school after school and during the holidays, as him and his brother keep arguing,plus he needs people his own age to play with.

He's put up every obstacle he could possibly invent to continue his life as a hermit, he has ADD and is worried he might lash out at friends or in friends houses, he doesn't want an fb account in case he becomes subject to cyber bullying, and he's scared of knocking on peoples doors.

so we've been in tears over the whole thing and not actually got anywhere Hess still sensitive now, sort of sighing in a teary sobby way.

Oh Babble that's so sad, how old is he again? Can friend visits be prearranged either at school or through you (I realise that's not ideal if he's a teenager) to avoid the knocking on doors issue? Maybe if he does an activity with a friend as opposed to just hanging out, he's less likely to lash out at them? Does he actually do this or is he just worried about doing it?

Wil, he can do and has been known to lash out before, which thinking back on it, is why he has started hermitting in the first place, a couple of years ago he had an altercation with an ex neighbours kid, who had goaded him into hitting him by swinging a scooter at his head and threatening to get his dad on to my ds, knowing that ds has little control over his temper and impulses, anyway adult man child of ex neighbour threatened to hit him if he hit his ds again, he's barely been out since, he was 10 at the time 12 now. Just frustrating sometimes
