Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

Holding out... for now. How early could one do a frer? (Y''know, if one was so inclined?). AF not due until 4th (?).

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 29/04/2014 22:27

Dulcet I was pregnant at a hen do, though I didn't know it. We went wine tasting!!

I so want to spill about "symptoms" but I fear getting a communal slap. Either preggers or bonkers methinks. DH thinks the latter Smile

splodge77 · 29/04/2014 22:43

Only just catching up on all the posts. Huge congrats rpopz & ness. Fab news! And welcome to new peeps.xx

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 29/04/2014 22:45

Before, I got my first bfp on FRER at 10dpo (9 dpo with other pregnancies), so maybe test tomorrow or Thursday if you'd like to start early?

Dulcet, law of sod works here; DS1, found out I was upduffed the day we were due to go to an expensive, nonrefundable, wine tasting ffs.
DS2, had mc the previous month so booked nonrefundable holiday day.
This time, decided we're not going to ttc anymore as we're looking at moving house soon, only donned cape 3 times that counts (JS; 17, 19, 21 dpo, ov 20 dpo).

Wilhelminand · 29/04/2014 23:24

List your symptoms Before, I like a good hooya before bedtime Wink. Plus, Rpopz is the biggest symptom spotter out there and look what's happened to her Grin!

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 29/04/2014 23:34

OK

In descending order of all-in-my-mind-ness...

Lower back ache for a couple of hours (unusual for me)
A stitch-like pain (left side) so strong I couldn't sleep last night
One mega cramp, like a contraction
Assorted 'twinges', vague nausea, blah blah blah

Nothing else. Altogether now... Hooya!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 29/04/2014 23:37

Lower back ache for a couple of hours (unusual for me) = Same here, I'm pregnant.
A stitch-like pain (left side) so strong I couldn't sleep last night = Same here, I'm pregnant.
One mega cramp, like a contraction= Ooh, one woke me up. Same here I'm pregnant
Assorted 'twinges', vague nausea, blah blah blah= You know the rest.

Grin Best of luck for when you test, it's a bloody job (literally) that ERTD and early pregnancy have the same symptoms. Damn you universe!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 29/04/2014 23:38

Looking at fertilityfriend, this month I had; Acute Sense of Smell, Toothache, Irritability, Cramps, Bloated, Backache, Headache

lala5 · 29/04/2014 23:54

before you're on serious danger of doing a kitten Wink but this sounds positive. Hooya for symptom spotting (stop encouraging her viroids!) but still wishing you luck!

Me and dh had huge fight then made up nicely, hoorah! He's now working nights 3 days - booo. I ice Sunday .

Night!

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 30/04/2014 07:47

Oh Crikey. Maybe then. It took a while last time so I'm cautious. And I keep thinking how dumb I'll feel if it's a BFN. Time will tell. I'm next in work Fri so might buy a FR then if I feel the same.

Thanks DrF and congratulations on your pregnancy. It was the mega cramp that got me thinking, it took my breath away.

Sorry for symptom spotting. Lala I promise no more nonsense until I POAS, whenever that may be. I have no idea when I iced so am going to leave it until Sat I think.

RPopz · 30/04/2014 07:57

Me, a symptom spotter? How very dare you! oh wait Haha!

Before, I used the frer at 12dpo, AF not due til the weekend. But I got a faint pos on the cheapies first. I guess the danger of frer is even if you test early and its negative you can convince yourself it might be positive later. It kinda prolongs the agony. But this month I ignored my own advice so feel free to ignore me also! Grin

Morning all!

cookielove · 30/04/2014 08:52

I too have been crampy almost whole if pregnancy, try drinking water as it can stop the cramps Confused it may help!

Congratulations ness

DulcetMoans · 30/04/2014 09:08

Sounds like sods law can work then dr so fingers crossed! At least if i'm not I will have some cocktails to look forward to at the weekend! Also, this is last attempt before back to the FC so maybe thats another one for sods law. I can be one of those stories you hear o people getting pg naturally just before they had treatment!

Do you know how many dpo you are before? It can go either way as symptoms are so similar but sounds promising. Even more so if you are late for AF??!

Dinner tonight with three friends on mat leave and one newly pregnant friend. That will be fun... :( Love them but if I can avoid the baby talk for the whole evening it will be a miracle!

lala5 · 30/04/2014 10:52

popz that's exactly my problem with frer - I convince myself a bfn could be false, when actually it's my own stupid fault for testing early Grin which is exactly why I'm never doing one again!

How's everyone today? I am feeling decidedly buoyant, despite huge row with dh last night. He was meant to have chased up our bank Liam and hadn't, meanwhile we're completely skint. It's fine though because he completed the next level of Candy Crush and made a nice korma for tea. That last one was quite nice...

Looking forward to this weekend, it's our anniversary.

lala5 · 30/04/2014 10:53

dulcet I know that feeling. All my friends have kids xx

TabbyTurmoil · 30/04/2014 11:26

Hi all

Can I join you? Thread looks so lucky!

Am 35, trying for #1, and in my first tww. I want to hold out until I'm late to test if I can, but not sure about my cycle - usually pretty regular 30ish days but last month a bit shorter (was very stressed).

This month, my dates / ewcm suggested icing on 19th / 20th but got positive opk on the 23rd- that would suggest af not due until the 8th my head will explode by then and a cycle of 35 days.

Using opks for an indication that I am icing not to time cape donning, which covers the full period to boyfriend's delight (see how he feels about that in a few months! )

Sorry to dump - any ideas about when to test?

Babblehag · 30/04/2014 11:41

hi all, sorry I've not been on much in the last 24 hours I am about to lose my mind over this essay, its effecting me that much I have lost the will to live DTD!!!! seriously, that never happens anyway not really read much but for any one who maybe POASing today, fingers crossed for you, and for those getting their capes on, happy shagging ! Grin

lil1ady · 30/04/2014 12:46

hi tabby from someone ttc #1 forever...don't test until cd26 unless you ate puking. the dissapointment isn't worth it, wait until you're late. that said...its hard to wait! if you can't I'd say no earlier than 14days after the pos opk. cramps and ewcm can happen way before ov.

ness so pleased alls well. try and enjoy now!

feeling Sad. here. tmi alert. had some light bright pink spotting this morning which came to nothing but dark brown cm, so ertd is likely on the way. last month was first time I had pre AF spotting and she turned up within a few hours. not due til tomorrow earliest so I expect she will surprise me in the morning.

at least once she shows I can have a holiday vino!

lil1ady · 30/04/2014 12:46

not 26...36!

lala5 · 30/04/2014 14:09

Hi tabby! Agree with lil, wait as long as you can - disappointment gets the better of you otherwise. Nice to have you here!

Hi babble sorry to hear you're still going with essay - dtd could be welcome break? Wink

lil Hmm big hug, but if it's not here yet there's still hope xxxx

Babblehag · 30/04/2014 14:28

urrghhh then id have to force it and i just cba right now, plus i am suffering with hay fever badly and the council has decided that today they will be mostly cutting grass, which isn't too bad on its own unless you live in the country and every field near by is growing rapeseed and the sun is shining, this is why country bumpkins have red noses!! Essay is finally written, but i now have to condense it from 2100 words to 1500!!!! i think i might be spending school and bloke run with printouts and highlighters!!!! sorry about all the !!!! i know they aren't necessary but i feel like i'm about to explode with emotion, and I'm not even sure which one any more!!! Confused

TabbyTurmoil · 30/04/2014 15:50

Thanks lil and lala. I'm not expecting anything to happen this month so sure it will be academic anyway, but need a date in mind to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Babble, good luck with your essay - word counts are the worst.

lil1ady · 30/04/2014 17:58

we'll be here to hooya you when you need it tabby!

the convertible hasn't turned up yet, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I just don't believe it could possibly happen after all this time. I'm sure it'll be AF here by the weekend and I'll wonder why I bothered packing the hpts! but so hope I'm wrong!

babble BREATH!* Hope you get it sorted in time

Babblehag · 30/04/2014 18:19

Hooooraaaahhhhh the essay part is done, i have condensed to 1430 words and now i just need to reference and do the other few parts. should be done by tonight hopefully!! dp has a day off tomorrow too Smile

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 30/04/2014 18:51

Gah, I've done something really dumb. I knew I had a test somewhere so rooted around until I found it. POAS and... BFN. All 'symptoms' immediately vanished :(

It's too early - it wasn't a Frer, it was an old clearblue (not digital) and AF not due until the 4th. I just feel SO silly and crap and bonkers. Mega example of why you shouldn't test early. I know deep down that the only thing that's going to convince me I'm not is AF. Stupid me - although I'm probably not the first woman in the world to do that and I won't be the last.

Hooya's welcome :(

To get out of my pit of self pity, well done on the essay barking. They're tough, I'm glad I don't have to do them any more.
